You'd shoot a snake in your house?

Despite being no lady, all I can picture is "who is cleaning up that mess and fixing the holes?"

If a snake comes in my home, first I'd shoo hubby out of the room, then identify it. Chances are good, it's not venomous. If not, I'd pick it up and toss it outside.

If it is, I'm knocking the biggest bookcase we have on him. Shoot it? I might miss. Bookcases don't miss. (And there is less blood and no holes in the floor.) lol
They don't get in the house so a long handled spade shovel is a good weapon for poisoness snakes in front of the door or near the house. I let black snakes etc. alone since they eat mice and rats. Snakes however normally stay away from residential areas. A close woods will have some going near homes next to it. Fun in the sunshine state.

In my thinking getting rid of the snake was priority #1

71 degrees currently in Clearwater. Quite balmy outside.
I grew up in Clearwater and then got a job in Sarasota. I lived 9 years just north of Detroit. I remember driving on ice at times. Great fun. My company moved me there and back.

Alright, so... I don't actually have a gun... but sometimes I post in the gun thread just to feel more manly.

It's not really working.

So next time....

I'm gonna try posting while drinking from a dirty glass.

Hopefully it still counts if I'm drinking milk.

Hold thumb a index like a tiny pistol, may or may not be the answer but it is cheap.

I grew up outside of Detroit in Hazel Park off Nine Mile Road. I'm all set with the ice and the snow.

I lived in Royal Oak just south of 9 mile road. Leaving my house to get to 9 mile road in winter usually had the approach to it iced up. Had to carefully approach 9 mile so I wouldn't slide into it. Then the fun of black ice on overpasses. Was glad to be moved back to Florida by my company. The biggest problem with the move was all the stuff we had in a 2 story house with attic and basement going into the single story house without attic and basement. Our 2 car garage was filled with boxes for a time figuring out what to do with all of the stuff. Lots of it went bye bye by selling it or throwing it away. Some still stored in our shed.

DOn't know if this was mentioned here already but I just read that Remington is filing bankruptcy. Apparently the gun industry has been in a slump since Trump got elected because gun owners aren't worried about any big new gun restrictions.

Yes, I read that last night.... hopefully they are just "re-organizing", and not shutting their doors.

Or, selling out to Amazon or some other crazy conglomerate..

Strange, isn't it, that when times are good for "gun people", sales go down. Obama single-handedly (almost) brought about the biggest increase in the manufacture and sales of AR-15 rifles, and ammunition in my lifetime. I got my AR back at the start of the big scare brought about by Obama, at what I thought was a reasonable price.... which was about the same price I paid for one back in the late 90's....

I can buy that same rifle now for just right at half of what I paid for mine. The cheapest I've ever seen an AR style rifle.

Good times.

Did anyone watch 60 Minutes on Sunday? The segment broadcast Sunday evening took a critical look at the proposed national Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act that passed the House of Representatives in December.

https://www.cbsnews.com/news/concealed-carry-reciprocity-act-showdown/
I saw about 2 minutes of it... I was involved in something, and couldn't sit down and watch all of it. I saw some woman pontificating about how the Supreme Court had ruled that we only have the right to own a gun and keep it in our homes for "protection"... NOT the right to carry one.

Sounded like KJV-only type of logic, to me.

Obviously a gun hater. These people never look at the fact that the mass murders only go into gun free zones to kill. That way they can kill more people before the police arrive. Otherwise someone with a gun will stop them.

Probably only half of them are gun haters. The other half are hypocrite gun owners that think they are the elite, and rules don't apply to them. Like Hillary. :)
