Oh my goodness.
I've had this happen too.
I had been working at a place for a long time, and about 3 other employees asked me if I was pregnant. I wasn't even seeing anyone, so you can imagine how flattered I was that they apparently thought so highly of me
(but I also worked in a town where such a thing was fairly common.)When even the boss's son, who usually doesn't judge, asked me if I was pregnant, I finally put my foot down and asked why in the world people were asking me that.
One person said it was because they had seen me eating Saltine crackers (which I normally don't eat because they're just plain white flour), and, "Saltines are a pregnancy food."
Well, that one person apparently started telling other people... and suddenly, everyone just assumed I must be expecting.
The oddest compliment I seem to get more than once (well, it's odd to me at least) is on my eyebrows, even before eyebrows were a thing.
The reason it's so strange to me is that I barely even have eyebrows (case in point, I don't think you can even see them in this picture), and always have to fill them in with powder (and I never think I do that great of a job.)

Actually every post on the page of singles was weird, your not so weird so decided to reply. When I want to disappear and let Jesus appear and people get us mixed up and cant afford to take any credit or would owe God, and feel not thankful enough.
Similar to you Demi. In the past I was in a relationship with someone 15 years older than me, and someone thought we were father and daughter, evident when he made a quiet comment to me about a father's day gift. Embarrassing. His colleague knew he was way off and corrected him. Not sure what it was, but my family have good genes so I've always looked younger than my age.
Another one... twice in my life I've been approached and told I have an identical twin. One lady could not stop staring at me, and apologized. Apparently I looked just like one of her friends.

That's kinda funny. My bf and i got a similar age difference but ppl dont really notic it too much. But with my mom was just bad. I was like 14 and she atound 45 or so.m.that was messed up. I nearly tore the office apart lol
I must be really average (or I have a terrible memory) because I can't remember any outrageously weird compliments or insults delivered to me personally.
I do remember this one guy at work who came through the drive through and then complained about the drive-through cashier's voice being too nasal. He said with her tinny voice she should never work the drive-through position with the microphone/speaker. Well her voice IS a bit nasal, but nothing bad enough to complain about. That coworker was impossible to deal with the whole rest of the day...

Two toddlers were playing on the sidewalk and I heard one of them say to the other one: "Let's ask that old lady over there."...and they were talking about me....LOL

Let's see weirdest compliments (or comments at least) that I've ever received:
Cinder and 15 clones would make for an interesting class ( a comment sent home by one of my high school teachers)
You're just like my ex-fiance (not sure if this was a compliment or an explanation, but the guy was dating my roommate at the time)
You think like a guy / you're a gentleman and a scholar (my Dad, though several other people from his generation use that gentleman and scholar line too).
In all fairness, I tend to be rather specific in my comments so I'm probably the source of some weird compliments too. And I remember getting my eyebrows complimented once (and I was advised to trade my glasses for contacts but when I tried they were way too much bother) and plenty of times being mistaken for my mom if I'm somewhere with my dad and mom isn't with us (also been mistakenly thought of as mom's sister because we look so much alike)

Compliments ... when I was 44 I had a girlfriend who was 22. It was the most amazing relationship of my life. People all the time stopped and told us how good we were together. That lasted until she decided to go off her psyche meds.

Well my husband is covered in Tattoos, an X-MMA fighter, biker and he is a Pastor/ Mentor to gangs, bikers and people that have struggled in the prison system. To those type people my hubby is approachable. They have a camaraderie similar to the military, believe it or not. I guess if you didn't know my hubby you would think he was a very mean looking person. Like a bad guy. He is actually a Pastor and drug counselor. He is an amazing speaker. Its so funny because when we go somewhere in a huge crowd I always make him walk in front of me because people part like God Parted the sea lol. He is also a man of few words to people that he dont know, (Guess you could say he is cautious) Funny how your everyday people he is cautious with. HAHA unless they are bikers or come from the streets. In that case he is very approachable. See God's vision was for my hubby has always been to help these people that didn't want to be approached by your typical book driven doctor or therapist. For some reason there is an unspoken trust between bikers, gangs and fighters. So when it comes to my friends or people I know, since I am the nerdy one, they are all either intimidated or afraid of him. I dont even notice most of the time. Usually about 5 months into my new friendship, my new friend finally builds up enough confidence to ask me this question- Why doesn't your husband like me??? I am like, uh, huh?? So I have to go get my hubby and ask him, Hey honey, so and so friend doesn't think you like them. He says, well its because I don't. Then we all start laughing. This happens to me a lot. Sometimes people that I become friends with, as time passes, I will say to them- isn't it pretty sad people judge a book by its cover, (because of my husbands tattoos and looks). The friend totally agrees. Its so funny cause almost all of my husbands tattoos are about his battle with God and demons. The closer you get to God the more you have to fight. He is Gods warrior. He is such an amazing person. I love him so much. SO the compliments I receive are not always genuine until they get to know him.
One time when I was still young I was walking through this mall and these two cute girls came up to me and were real excited and begged me to let them work on my hair. They were student hairstylists and needed someone to use for some competition they were in. I told them I didn't have time and they seemed really disappointed. They said they I "would have been perfect!".... At first I felt very flattered... then later on I realized that most guys my age had a buzzcut and I was probably the only one around who still had regular length hair... 
Someone insisting that I did not write the poetry I had written (they thought it was too good for a lush in the bar to have penned, so it was one of those back-handed compliments LOLOLOL)

Complements...I too have been complimented on my eyebrows, which was the strangest thing. Or maybe not, considering two other ladies were told that on this thread...? A cast mate came up to me totally randomly and said "omg, you have gorgeous eyebrows!" I'm in full stage makeup, when I personally think my eyebrows look like caterpillars...I said "They're filled, you know" She then said, "omg, you do an amazing filling job! What do you use??" Ain't no way I was spillin' the beans that I use a 3$ waterproof eye shadow stick from NYC to fill my brows after a compliment like that.
Insult...when I was getting my ears pierced, the lady was super rude...she did a great job, but her bedside manner (or whatever you want to call it!) was appalling! At one point she stands back and squints her eyes at me, and I continue to look at her calmly. Finally, she says, "I'm not staring at you, it's just that your ears are super crooked and really different shapes and I'm trying to figure out where to put the piercings." (!!!???) Very professional.
And some comments I find annoying is when people call my brothers my boyfriends, and my dad my grandfather. Especially when they are calling dad my grandfather because they think it is attractive, as happened with a young check-out fellow. Dad bought something and left, and I called after him "thanks, Dad" This fellow is like: "that's your dad!? I mean, I thought he was your grandfather, you look so young. I mean, young in a cute way, like. You know, not old. Young is cute." I was really, really tempted to tell him that that was in no way an attractive compliment to me, (Um, dude, did you just call my dad old??) but the poor boy was red to his ears by this point so I merely thanked him and walked out.
