Yes, we've often seen coyotes pulling those stunts here in Central Texas.

No sign of Coyotes here in the UK so far. I think its due to the lack of Road Runners There is talk of reintroducing the Lynx though.

Jerry Clower and John Eubanks would be unhappy to hear that.....

Personally I happen to resent that... I have that Jerry Clower clip in my collection, and I always think it is grossly unfair to the lynx. He was just napping quietly in his tree when some blithering idiot climbed it and disturbed his cat nap.

As an adult, this is about my favourite cartoon ever. Especially when something like that is about to fall, and he holds up the umbrella XD
As an adult (and as a kid, because my bad taste haven't changed much since), my favorites were when he whirled (sound effects and all) down, down, down to a canyon floor, and somewhere when he was so far below you couldn't see him, the whirling sound disappeared too.

And then a second or two later, a little puff of smoke plus the kalump.

Still cracks me up just thinking it.

Laughed when I read this, and then stopped short.

Did the UK ever have coyotes?

Oddly enough, New Jersey used to have panthers. Now the only dangerous animals it has are politicians. lol

Jerry Clower is one of my favs. He called himself a humorist. He had a fictional family of cousins called Ledbetter. Uncle Versie & Aunt Pet were the parents.

In the story ‘a coon huntin’ story’, coon dogs treed what they thought was a coon. It was there John Eubanks took his brogan shoes off(he was a world renown professional tree climber), dug his finger and toenails into that sweet gum tree, and eased his way up the tree. He got to the top and went to punch the coon out, but it was a lynx. They called them souped up wildcats in that area. The lynx tore into him and John wanted someone(can’t remember his name) to kill the lynx. He said, “John, I can’t shoot up in there, I might hit you!” John said, “Well, shoot up in here among us, one of us has got to have some relief!”

Yep lol. And you're reminding me...when he walks off the edge of a cliff and keeps walking for a few steps, not falling until he's realized his error XD. Brilliant. They don't make cartoons the way they used to.

Here's the story.

It is a bit long, but he does get to the point eventually.

we do have coyotes in our neighborhood, but we obviously have a 'cat' that can out 'fox' them,
for they love to eat cats!!! but I would like to add, that we truly believe that our 'other member'
was a gift from God, and he is an outside and 'fixed' feline': he is obviously very gifted to have
survived until this day, and he is very 'big and can be very demanding in his 'food arena'...
we feed him what we believe are the ingredients + that he needs to survive all of the 'wild animals
that invade our small farm...last year, I think that we only had to extract (one) tic, and we have
multiple deer and turkeys always roaming in our immediate back and outer property...

if anyone is interested in what we feed him and the supplements, just ask, we will gladly share what
our Saviour has led to 'feed him'...just as an aside, he really seems in so many ways to be more like
a 'dog' that a 'cat', in many way of his behaviour...we are often awed at the things that he exhibits
that ordinary cats don't, for we have had many...:eek:

If I'm lyin', I'm dyin'.....

One of the best things about Jerry Clower is that he was an unabashed Christian, and nearly always ended his shows with about 10 minutes of very inspirational talk... there are several good youtube videos of him, and his spiritual messages.

He was one of the really good ones....

I did listen to the story, (thanks for link in PM), and follow up. Almost caught all of it, except being a Yank the English isn't my English. No idea what brogans are, (no idea if he really meant people were professional tree climbers), and I really did think the coon was up there... just higher than the lynx. And having listened to the follow up, no idea what Aunt Pet pulled out to fix Johnny. It was like listening to Greek. And no idea if Johnny was all right by the end of it.

Also, no idea if the lynx was all right either. lol
