Matthew 13:11-15 He replied, “The knowledge of the secrets of the kingdom of heaven has been given to you, but not to them. Whoever has will be given more, and he will have an abundance. Whoever does not have, even what he has will be taken from him. This is why I speak to them in parables: “Though seeing, they do not see; though hearing, they do not hear or understand. In them is fulfilled the prophecy of Isaiah: “‘You will be ever hearing but never understanding; you will be ever seeing but never perceiving. For this people’s heart has become calloused; they hardly hear with their ears, and they have closed their eyes. Otherwise they might see with their eyes, hear with their ears, understand with their hearts and turn, and I would heal them.’

New International Version 1984 2 Timothy 3:1-9 Godlessness in the Last Days But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days. People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God— having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with them. They are the kind who worm their way into homes and gain control over weak-willed women, who are loaded down with sins and are swayed by all kinds of evil desires, always learning but never able to acknowledge the truth. Just as Jannes and Jambres opposed Moses, so also these men oppose the truth—men of depraved minds, who, as far as the faith is concerned, are rejected. But they will not get very far because, as in the case of those men, their folly will be clear to everyone.

This is what happens when instead of appreciating the scriptures presented, you tend to find fault.

Luke 6:31 do to others as you would have them do to you.
So you will not mind if I do not answer your questions, since you refuse to answer mine. You just show what a hypocrite you are to post Scripture about not judging while YOU go about judging people. Are you blind to that as well?

2 Timothy 2:14-26 A Workman Approved by God Keep reminding them of these things. warn them before God against quarreling about words; it is of no value, and only ruins those who listen. Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a workman who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth. Avoid godless chatter, because those who indulge in it will become more and more ungodly. Their teaching will spread like gangrene. Among them are Hymenaeus and Philetus, who have wandered away from the truth. They say that the resurrection has already taken place, and they destroy the faith of some. Nevertheless, God’s solid foundation stands firm, sealed with this inscription: “The Lord knows those who are his,” and, “Everyone who confesses the name of the Lord must turn away from wickedness.” In a large house there are articles not only of gold and silver, but also of wood and clay; some are for noble purposes and some for ignoble. If a man cleanses himself from the latter, he will be an instrument for noble purposes, made holy, useful to the Master and prepared to do any good work. Flee the evil desires of youth, and pursue righteousness, faith, love and peace, along with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart. Don’t have anything to do with foolish and stupid arguments, because you know they produce quarrels. And the Lord’s servant must not quarrel; instead, he must be kind to everyone, able to teach, not resentful. Those who oppose him he must gently instruct, in the hope that God will grant them repentance leading them to a knowledge of the truth, and that they will come to their senses and escape from the trap of the devil, who has taken them captive to do his will.

This is a total authority attempt, not with argument or facts, just a bararge of a viewpoint
but not even the contents. I have seen this in cults, "your wrong I am right". It is only used
because actually putting the points and winning fails and is obviously flawed.

Jesus calls us to follow, and failure in following loses the goal. To believe we are called to
follow admits the possibility of failure, so even following is denied, or the need to repent
of sin which one is battling through, or the need to repent, feel sorrow and work things
through. It is like a cancer of belief that strips away sanctification from the believer and
leaves them justified in faith, as if this alone saves and is the purpose of Christs message.

On this basis the pharisees were saved, because they sure believed.
One way of looking at my viewpoint is the members of the Kingdom of heaven are saved
from the point of coming to faith, because they truly are entering heaven.
They can never lose their salvation because from eternity they are eternal.

The joke for me, is because I believe we are called to walk in purity and righteousness,
the way of Jesus, they will be abusive and dismissive as if this is not rebellion against the
King.

But in truth how many of the people here are active members of a fellowship with a real
ministry and house group where the exercise faith, love and sharing?

It is easy to spout this bile here, rail on about extreme positions, while very few fellowships
dare to hold such obvious heresies. So where is the value? Where is the communion in Christ
and encouraging one another to good works and seeing Christ bring us to victory?

Grace and peace to you in Christ Jesus, Amen.
Listen pj......you can forget it...ripping someone falsely and then imparting grace and peace belies a two souled unstable man who has both poison and sweet water coming from their mouth!

Joe...I just feel to respond when the Holy Spirit calls me to respond , not by what man says...Ben has a gentle spirit , yet so many come up against him , we must be meek and mild , not condescending...xox...
Something to ponder Rose.....Jesus called the apostles and John the Baptist...Some were Sons of Thunder, some soft and full of love and some like John the Baptist stiff amd fiery cutting none slack...God uses all types for particular situations and has been using imperfect men from the beginning to proclaim his perfect message!

I truly was admonishing David to watch his Christian image. He is mocking and laughing and using words that are inappropriate of a Christian brother.

You responded by telling me to be concerned with myself and then accusing me of using Jesus to justify my hypocrisy. You said it, not me.

So tell me what you mean that I used Jesus to justify my hypocrisy? Did I actually use the words of Jesus straight from the bible to justify my hypocrisy? Is that a bad thing to use scripture straight out of the bible to support a doctrinal position?

Was I using Jesus's words like, "forgive a man his trespasses against you, or your God will not forgive your trespasses agains Him" to justify my hypocrisy? Jesus's words are plain and simple, they are not difficult to understand, until you try to reconcile them with the words of Paul, when he says "it is by grace we are saved, not of works least we boast".

Now it becomes difficult to reconcile the words of Jesus with the words of Paul, and the bible becomes a battleground.

Are you using the words of Paul to justify your hypocrisy? And ignoring the words of Jesus to forgive?
You took it personally and applied it to yourself, not I, and YOU need to take responsibility for that and stop blaming me for what YOU did. Even after I explained it to you, you come back at me with the very same perspective, FALSELY accusing me of saying things about you which I did not.

That is a lie.

and then accusing me of using Jesus to justify my hypocrisy.
That is a lie also.

You said it, not me.
What I said is quite different from what you present.
Go back and read it. As it is, you are falsely accusing me.
Talk about twisting and misrepresentation!

Yes, otherwise we end up ecumenical, compromising truth for unity, when Jesus came to bring division between the truth and the lie (Matthew 10:34-49).

I haven't read Ben's posts, so don't know what he believes??

And Rosemary was having issues today, which she wrote about in the misc forum...

Rosemary , he may have a gentle spirit , but he adds to the Gospel by saying Baptism is necessary , so according to Paul he is accursed
Exactly.....as are all who embellish the work of Christ for salvation.....as in works, immersion, church membership, good deeds, sacraments etc...

Hi Dcon , yes I agree...P4T reminded me last night about something similar to what you have said...I have taken what you and he has said on board...Obviously I still can not discern these things that you and others can see , not when someone is covering themselves in sheeps clothing but inside they are really a wolf , this is scary for me and something I need to learn...

I do not want to be fooled , I know I can defend against some where I know they are speaking falsely when it comes to the word , but for now I think I should watch more closely rather then jumping in using my emotions rather then the truth...It is a lesson I am now learning , I will pay attention more and not let my heart rule my head...xox...

Only God knows the hearts of men.

Beware of disobedience being taught cloaked in the disguise of teaching of works.
Without works given by grace to each of us, there is no faith.

Beware of hateful attitudes being cloaked in the disguise of words of love. Love is not words alone but the content of the heart, soul and mind.

No one can earn salvation, but by disobedience and failing to do good works all could lose it.

Learn the difference between doing works given by the grace of God and thinking you are earning salvation........do not teach against God's gifts of works nor against obeying Him for He considers disobedience as witchcraft.

Jesus teaches us all about the above.
