Comprehension issues? The Sabbath is not mentioned; not that hard to comprehend.
To add what is not there is to put yourself in the position of GOD. To think to change times and Laws. It is to say in your heart, 'I will ascend to heaven; I will raise my throne above the stars of God, And I will sit on the mount of assembly In the recesses of the north. I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will make myself like the Most High.
In Genesis it describes a day as evening and morning so apparently the biblical day starts at evening whatever time that starts. Some areas of the earth have constant daylight or darkness for 6 months a year. That's one long day. Based on this I don't believe that a day necessarily starts at sunset. For most of us, the day starts one second past midnight.
Do we gather a double portion on Fridays, is my question?
((re: Exodus 16, first mention of sabbath observation in scripture))
I know that I don't. That's very interesting, I never thought about that. In modern terms I guess us working stiffs have to work a double shift on Friday. Hopefully, that will at least mean overtime.
Some folks are preaching that folks should keep a Jewish like Sabbath on Saturday.
I believe we should pray without ceasing and keep Sabbath every day.
I just wanted to show how that is possible and perhaps have people share how they find Rest in Christ Jesus?
I am tired of the SDA and folks like that condemning people for not worshipping as they do. Some even condeming the gathering and worshiping together on Sunday. It all borders on legalism and a false understanding of the New Covenant that Jesus established.
Don't get me wrong. I have attended a Messianic Jewish congregation and the Rabbi doesn't make the same errors out SDA folks here on the forums make. So if folks want to keep the feast or worship on Sat they have that freedom in Christ. However folks cross the, line when they condemned judge others.
I can provide Bible verses if needed.
Is your problem is with Messianic Jews or The Jew Messiah Jesus.... I do not know... What does THE JEW tell you about the Sabbath? Did G-d say trat every day like the Sabbath, as in your question? What does the Scripture say? He made the last day of the week the Sabbath? So what does Scripture tell you? And why cause discourse? Is that of G-d? If you CANNOT JUDGE THEM DO NOT GO THERE!!!!!
Perhaps we can understand God's will for our lives and learn discernment. However God is too great for us to completely understand.
.should we do God's work only one day a week or every day?
Should we only do God's will on the 7th day or every day?
Because they were addressing the Book of the Law not the Ten Commandments. The Decalogue was not the issue the Book of the Law was; and only parts of it.Sabbath is not mentioned in Acts 15.
Sure it is Heb 4:9,10It is never commanded anywhere in the new covenant. Comprehend?
The Context and Grammar prove that Colossians 2 is referring to the Book of the Law.It is mentioned in Colossians 2 with the explicit admonition, do NOT allow anyone to judge you over it. It is explicitly called a shadow of the reality found in Christ there.
GOD wants us to start with ONE DAY....and even that seems too much for most people.christians since they reject IT...yet foolishly think they can do it EVERY day ...how ODD is that ?
can't you /they just be OBEDIENT ???
Answer a simple question O Wise Ones.....
Why did God establish the Sabbath and tell His people to keep it Holy?
