This is interesting. What do you do that it isn't as important as reading the Bible on Fridays? I never had a job where I could take time away from work to read the Bible with coworkers.

I think it's cool. Just trying to learn what kind of job she has that the bosses like this idea.
I had a job at AAA Insurance in SF, CA as a programmer for 2 years. They allowed one paid hour a week for Bible study. You could get another paid hour for a public speaking club "Toastmasters" if interested. I think they viewed these as self betterment programs.

I agree with this approach in the workplace. An hour invested can reap two or more hours of increased productivity and an improvement in quality. It also improves morale and facilitates camaraderie. Very good for the bottom line.
