I think we can all agree that we like food.
Speaking of which, I'm Googling the best recipes for barbecue brisket to make tomorrow. If anyone has a favorite recipe, feel free to send it to me. Thanks! :D

I never once stated a woman could not lead a soul to Christ ... Did you not hear me say women are just as valuable to God and society as men are ... No, you only hear what you want to hear and you block everything else out because you prefer to argue about something ...
Well you are here what a week? Perhaps you could exercise a little wisdom and get more acquainted with the group before you set yourself in opposition to everything.

You cannot make another person believe no matter how hard you try. They cannot make you believe no matter how hard they try. God must move in hearts for there to be change.

The thread is about women preaching which is the ministry of the church pastor in many churches, elders in others. Women are not going to be oppressed in church nor should they be oppressed. Many women here on the forums have made valuable contributions to the conversations. You could actually learn from some of them how to be more cordial and gracious.

I have observed that the thing we despise in others is the thing we see in ourselves. We as Christians are to show compassion not anger toward our fellow Christians.

Women are not to preach or pastor in the church but they are indeed entitled to fellowship and worship in the congregation having been set free from oppression in Christ. The vail was torn and we have access into the holies because of Christ. We come boldly unto the Father.

Btw, I wasn't trying to derail this thread by asking for brisket recipe suggestions. I only noticed how everyone got so worked up in here, I figured by now everyone was getting pretty hungry and could use a break from the tumult and I could get their attention with a photo of yummy brisket, thereby obtaining maybe a few good recipes from y'all....

And while we're at it, how about you pm me your barbecue baked beans recipes, too? Thanks!

I have a bad experience with women when they mock the Bible and blatantly disregard scripture ... Any Christian should have a problem with that and stand up for what the Bible says ... If people can't stand up for what it says then what are they doing calling themselves Christian ? ... If these people would just listen, they could actually receive some help, but they are too rebellious to even let anyone help them ...
neither men nor women should mock the bible, thats not gender specific.

i agree that people should not disregard scripture, such as women being within the inner circle of Jesus, women judges, women prophets, women leaders, women with authority and so many other examples, but in order to make the "women keep your mouth shut in church" philosophy work one must ignore such things.
most every man i have ever heard try to make this theory work had some kind of inferiority complex issue with women.

Oh my gosh I went to my first potluck dinner ever at a church. The food was very awful. Is that normal? I'm not a picky eater actually but my goodness was it dry and bad and...very sugary. Maybe there is something to the adage that too many cooks ruin the pot...
We had one last Sunday and it was terrific. Too much food and it seems that I always over eat. My wife made pulled pork and one old time member brought sausage in sauerkraut. Dessert table is always over the top and least healthy stuff but wow our ladies can cook. Somebody brought salad probably my daughter because she doesn't eat meat.

We will have another soon as we use the fifth Sunday of the month as our potluck dinner dates. Some of our ladies are living on farms so cooking is a skill passed down to them by their family traditions.

Now that he is gone, I want to ask a serious question of Melita. Please tell me what I could have handled better. I will not be offended or embarrassed and would appreciate your thoughts.

Our great cooks, bakers and pie makers are rapidly going on to be with the Lord. Our younger groups have different taste buds, so the cuisine is changing. Still the food is great, and the fellowship is always special.

We have our pot lucks in conjunction with our weekly community ministry, once ever four Wednesdays.

I'm not Melita, but under the circumstances, you did about all you could do.

When I see these threads, I read, get a good laugh, shake the dust off my shoes and move on.

This is a Christian chat site owned and operated by Christians who have set up godly rules which are "simply common sense and proper Christian conduct". Yet is seems many forget that part of rules & regulations.

Members on this site are from all over the world and from all types of denominations, with varying beliefs. Some members have not even come to the knowledge of Jesus Christ as yet, which is even more of a reason why Christians should exhibit gracious conduct in the spirit of Jesus Christ.

CC allows people all over the world to join. The sad thing is that some over-zealous people think because it is a Christian site, it gives them a platform to admonish anyone at any time. They feel entitled, or even appointed by God Himself, to reprove everyone who doesn’t believe exactly as they do.

Again, this site is open for the entire world to become members, a mix of all sorts of folks who find friendship and have fun, ask questions, learn more about Christ’s love and salvation. Since when does God call us to stand in the road and argue with all our neighbors? He said love one another and treat people the way you want to be treated.

Paul said he will become anything to win everyone to Christ. He made it a point not to be offensive so he could gain folks’ friendship, their respect and trust in order that he might win them over to the love and salvation of Jesus Christ. Paul loved people as if they were his own children, like Jesus did.

Nobody has any business preaching or teaching if their attitude doesn’t reflect the meek and gracious attitude and behavior of the Lord Jesus.

It’s sad to see people so disillusioned that they believe everyone ought to believe as they do. So many are struggling over their own illusions of truth. Yes, illusions, because your natural mind simply can’t understand God's wisdom. That's why folks always end up fighting and arguing over their own “beliefs”. No man can perceive the infinite thoughts of God.

The real answer to all questions is Jesus Christ. I’m not talking about your religious beliefs or your religious figurehead. I’m talking about Lord Jesus Christ raised from the dead and alive NOW, in us. Jesus Christ Himself is the wisdom and knowledge of God. In Him all things are made right despite the things of this world that scream to the contrary. The Lord reigns now and forever.

The Good News is that God holds nothing against you because of Christ. That reality is far more real than the illusions you’re arguing about. God’s Truth can only be heard with spiritual ears and only seen when your eyes are on Christ.

Trust in the LORD with all your heart and don’t lean on your own understanding.

If you are standing on your beliefs and not on Christ, your gazillion posts on your beliefs are a gazillion pieces of wood, hay & stubble.
