I'm not trying to argue or debate anyone, I'm trying to understand. We are all human and therefore we can some error in what we believe. Iron sharpens iron.
I don't understand how he can live in us but we can walk contrary to how he walked. He Obeyed HIS Father's voice in everything, including unto death. So what I'm trying to understand is your understanding on this. If he lives in You? Shouldn't you also obey The Father's commands just like The Messiah did. We are dead to ourselves right? Do you believe if Messiah would be on earth right now. Would he still obey the Father?
Are you talking about the commands written on stone? Those were to point us to our need for a Savior.

The command from our Savior is to love one another as He has loved us. This is a deeper reality, because Christ so identifies with us, that how we treat one another we treat Him.

I am trying to understand how you cannot understand.....we have the same conflict that JESUS had.....HE was tempted as we are tempted yet was without sin....what I mean by this is...Father if it be possible let this cup pass, also...the spirit is indeed willing, but the flesh is weak....or what about PAUL....the things i say I am going to do I do not and the things I say I am not going to do I DO.....PETER....walks on water, then begins to sink, claims to be willing to die with the LORD and then denies him three times....even DANIEL who was one of three listed that could deliver himself by his own righteousness if it were possible confessed his sins.....this conflict between the fallen sinful flesh and the sinless born again spirit is an ongoing process IN ALL BELIEVERS.....the key is being TRANSFORMED by the renewing of our mind by the study of the word in a daily process of sanctification....it can be stunted by a lack of study, biblical instruction, worldliness etc. and or matured and perfected (made complete) by faithful service and submission......God does not cast his children aside when they fail...he uses chastisement, love, conviction etc. with his children.......

Works do save us, but they aren't our works. They are His works.

Some did ask Jesus what works must we do. Here's what He had to say:

27Do not work for the food that perishes, but for the food that endures to eternal life, which the Son of Man will give to you. For on him God the Father has set his seal.”

There's only ONE Person who can give us food that endures to eternal life. If you're still trying to get it, ask Him for it. (Hint: He's the Bread of Life, so He is giving Himself.)

And if you're still trying to figure out WORKS you must do. Jesus says this to you:

28
Then they said to him, “What must we do, to be doing the works of God?” 29Jesus answered them, “This is the work of God, that you believe in him whom he has sent.”

So then they ask Him for this food:

35Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life; whoever comes to me shall not hunger, and whoever believes in me shall never thirst.

47Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever believes has eternal life.

Do you has eternal life?

Perhaps, but Jesus can change hearts and reveal Himself. I pray He does so. Love believes all things, let us believe. I know I used to stumble over these things myself, but God revealed Himself to me. And He can do the same for others. And I know that I still get to discover Him in new ways myself, I haven't fully arrived either lol, but I am excited to know Him more through people's grace filled revelations on this website.

Yes, do you? If you do, tell me what the difference is?

Yeah,,

One is saved, one is not
one is born again, one is still dead
one has been given the spirit, one has not
one has been adopted as a child of God one is still a child of satan
one has repented, one has not
one has come to truth, one has not
one has obeyed he gospel, one has not
one has eternal life, one does not
One has been redeemed, justified, made righteous, one has not been given of these things
one has experinced the love of god and can now love others, (we love because hemfirst loved us) one has not experienced gods love, thus can not love others (do works)

OK, I am going to go about this a different direction: We are saved unto good works, right? But you get lazy or you finally reject Jesus or for whatever reason, you do not those good works you were saved to do, then what happens?
If your saved you can not be that person, not loving others (work) is a sin, john said a child of God can not sin.

your argument is with God. Not me your trying to make up a hypothetical situation that can not happen.

with all due respect Ben , Im pretty sure you arent saved at all , being " good " has nothing to do with whether you are saved or not
We are saved by trusting in the finished work of Jesus Christ , plus NOTHING added to that
From your posts , I cant see that you believe that
Thank you ljs, "we are saved by trusting in the finished work of Jesus Christ, and our righteousness come's from the imputed righteousness of Jesus Christ, through faith. "NO ONE IS RIGHTEOUS, means NO ONE.

No one is righteous: Romans3;10
10) As it is written: “There is no one righteous, not even one"

Of course the extra, "not even one" was to insure that no one could say, hey look at me, "I am a good and righteous person."

God bless!

Hi E-g, you are 100 percent correct. Trying to make a point using hypothetical examples is nearly impossible because your examples are not real they are hypothetical.

Ok please read carefully these verse you just posted. The people are following him because of the miracle if the food Yahushua just did, He is telling them not to work for FOOD that perishes. The people ask how they can Perform the works of Elohim, He responds believe in him who he has sent. If we believe in him and he lives in us Will He not keep doing the Father's works through us.
Here's another scripture Yahushua himself said.
Mark 12:
28And one of the scribes having come up, having heard them reasoning together, having seen that He answered them well, questioned Him, “Which commandment is the first of all?”

29YAhushua answered, “The foremost is, ‘Hear this O Israel: YAHWEH our Elohim is One Elohim , 30and you shall love YAHWEH your Elohim with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind, and with all your strength.’e 31The second is this: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’f There is not another commandment greater than these.”

32And the scribe said to Him, “Right, Teacher. You have spoken according to truth that He is One, and there is not another besides Him, 33and to love Him with all the heart and with all the understanding and with all the strength, and to love the neighbor as oneself is more important than all the burnt offerings and sacrifices.”

All of his commands are based on love, either for YAHWEH or your neighbor. You can hang them all on either one of these.

But where did The Messiah quote these scripture from?
Deut. 6
1Now these are the commandments, the statutes, and the judgments, which the LORD your God commanded to teach you, that ye might do them in the land whither ye go to possess it: 2That thou mightest fear the LORD thy God, to keep all his statutes and his commandments, which I command thee, thou, and thy son, and thy son's son, all the days of thy life; and that thy days may be prolonged. 3Hear therefore, O Israel, and observe to do it; that it may be well with thee, and that ye may increase mightily, as the LORD God of thy fathers hath promised thee, in the land that floweth with milk and honey.

4Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God is one LORD: 5And thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might. 6And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart:

1 John 5:3-4
3 For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.

4 For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.

I did read the verses closely that I posted. :)

Why were the commandments written on stone? Hmm, I can only guess of course, but maybe because the heart in us is hard and stony before Christ transformed it.

I see where this is going, I am guessing you believe we still need to follow the 10 commandments, and here's how I will answer you.

Paul says this:

Galatians 5:
14For the whole law is fulfilled in one word: “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” 15But if you bite and devour one another, watch out that you are not consumed by one another.

The entire law can be fulfilled by loving one another. So in that I will not disagree.

Of course, this leaves us with the only commandment that doesn't seem to fit.

And that's for us to the Keep the Sabbath, am I right?

If you want to keep the Sabbath, feel free, but I personally have one issue with it. If I believe keeping the Sabbath can only be observed on Saturday, I can't keep it every day. And honestly, most people don't even keep the Sabbath according to how the OT teaches it.

Here's what I can do, I can allow Jesus to be my daily rest, He is my Sabbath. And I rest in Him.

But if you wish to do so, feel free, but remember Paul under inspiration of Holy Spirit says, the ENTIRE law is fulfilled by loving one another.

So while some focus on the law, I focus on love.

Just as Jesus did:

John 13:34 A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another.

Jesus said IT IS FINISHED.......PAID IN FULL....HE defeated the devil at the cross of Calvary and secured eternal life and salvation for all who believe into his FINISHED WORK on the cross......all these religions that emphasize works, a losable salvation and or one that must be maintained by a set of laws, rules or religious works place Jesus back on the cross every single day.....what a shame and a sham!
John 12:42-50 Yet at the same time many even among the leaders believed in him. But because of the Pharisees they would not confess their faith for fear they would be put out of the synagogue; FOR THEY LOVE PRAISES FROM MEN MORE THAN PRAISE FROM GOD. Then Jesus cried out, “When a man believes in me, he does not believe in me only, but in the one who sent me. When he looks at me, he sees the one who sent me. I have come into the world as a light, so that no one who believes in me should stay in darkness. “As for the person who hears my words but does not keep them, I do not judge him. For I did not come to judge the world, but to save it. There is a judge for the one who rejects me and does not accept my words; that very word which I spoke will condemn him at the last day. For I did not speak of my own accord, but the Father who sent me commanded me what to say and how to say it. I know that his command leads to eternal life. The difference now is that you're not the only one with the Spirit. If we are in Christ we ALL have the Spirit of Truth. So we don't want to insulate ourselves from correction. Especially since the Spirit speaks through all of us. I personally take things of correction to the Lord because I want to be open to His correction through others. Even from the mouth of babes. One thing I do though is I listen for the Spirit's voice of love in correction. Even truth is to be spoken in love. Because Scripture says if there is not love that person does not know God.

Something for you to consider, are you open to correction?

Proverbs 9:8 Do not reprove a scoffer, or he will hate you; reprove a wise man, and he will love you.

Proverbs 9:8 Do not reprove a scoffer, or he will hate you; reprove a wise man, and he will love you.
Hebrews 4:12-13 For the word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart. Nothing in all creation is hidden from God’s sight. Everything is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of him to whom we must give account.

2 Timothy 3:15-17 and how from infancy you have known the holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.

Psalm 18:30 As for God, his way is perfect; the word of the Lord is flawless. He is a shield for all who take refuge in him.

Titus 1:15-16 to the pure, all things are pure, but to those who are corrupted and do not believe, nothing is pure. In fact, both their minds and consciences are corrupted. They claim to know God, but by their actions they deny him. They are detestable, disobedient and unfit for doing anything good.

Romans 3:3-4 What if some did not have faith? Will their lack of faith nullify God’s faithfulness? Not at all! Let God be true, and every man a liar. As it is written: “So that you may be proved right when you speak and prevail when you judge.”

Isaiah 5:20-24 Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter. Woe to those who are wise in their own eyes and clever in their own sight. Woe to those who are heroes at drinking wine and champions at mixing drinks, who acquit the guilty for a bribe, but deny justice to the innocent. Therefore, as tongues of fire lick up straw and as dry grass sinks down in the flames, so their roots will decay and their flowers blow away like dust; for they have rejected the law of the Lord Almighty and spurned the word of the Holy One of Israel.

WHO WOULD CALL THE LORD "CURSED"?

Jesus isn't cursed. But according to Paul Jesus became a curse for US.

Galatians 3:13 Christ redeemed us from the curse of the Law, having become a curse for us--for it has been written: "Cursed is everyone hanging on a tree"-- 4so that the blessing of Abraham might come to the Gentiles in Christ Jesus, so that through faith we might receive the promise of the Spirit.

Right there in black and white.

Please also note that Paul said the Law carried a curse with it. And Jesus redeemed us from it. That's one to consider for everyone who think we should still be under the Law.

I'm sorry, but your missing the greatest command, it's to love YAHWEH. That's the first and greatest command. How do we living him according to scripture, by obeying him. How do we love our neighbor according to scripture, by obeying YAHWEH's commands regarding our neighbors.
About the Sabbath honestly that is not what my question about the ten commandments had to do with, but you said YOU Can allow Yahushua to be your daily rest, how does a spiritual rest compare to a command for a physical one? It should never be about what is ok to us, it's about what is ok with him.
Scripture says rest on the 7th day, you shall not do any work, you or your servants even your livestock, that's it. And if most people don't keep it that way that is between them and YAHWEH. We can only share with each other what we see in scripture and try our best to honor the Father with our walk. Yahushua died to redeem us from our sin, we cannot knowingly remain in it once we know right? If YAHWEH would come to me and tell me to stand on my head for 3 hrs would I? Even if at times I don't fully understand everything he asks of his people, will I trust that he knows better than I do, and that's why he asks. I Hope my answer will always be Yes. Even if at times it's hard to walk against the current. He sent his Son for Me, little old me, how can I refuse to try and accept that gift gratefully and try and walk in a way that pleases him. His sacrifice was not in a vain. With that same love that he loved me, I will try my best to love him back, because I am eternally grateful. Sorry for the typos, they are bad. But I'm not being allowed to fix at the top of the page?????? Hope you can understand.

NICE TO HEAR THAT YOU DON'T CALL JESUS AS "CURSED". NOW, HERE'S THE CONVO FYI.

BLAH BLAH BLAH more working for pseudo salvation.....My bible teaches salvation is a present CURRENT possession.....

Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy HAS HE SAVED US <--PAST TENSE

YES..JESUS did become SIN for us....<--Only a deceiver would reject this truth as well....

He made Him who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf, so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.

JESUS was BORN of a WOMAN, BORN UNDER THE LAW and was CURSED when he hung on a TREE....<--Only deceivers would reject the word of God which states as much....

Christ redeemed us from the curse of the Law, having become a curse for us-- for it is written, "CURSED IS EVERYONE WHO HANGS ON A TREE "

FOLKS any and all who deny the above truths have proven they are not of GOD....DO NOT BELIEVE POST 59510..HE DENIES these truths and supplants them with HALF truths and deceit just like the garden when the serpent removed and then added his own words to the bible.......

Romans 3:19-20 Now we know that whatever the law says, it says to those who are under the law, so that every mouth may be silenced and the whole world held accountable to God. Therefore no one will be declared righteous in his sight by observing the law; rather, through the law we become conscious of sin.

1 Timothy 1:9-11 We also know that law is made not for the righteous but for lawbreakers and rebels, the ungodly and sinful, the unholy and irreligious; for those who kill their fathers or mothers, for murderers, for adulterers and perverts, for slave traders and liars and perjurers—and for whatever else is contrary to the sound doctrine that conforms to the glorious gospel of the blessed God, which he entrusted to me.

JESUS WAS BORN UNDER THE LAW BUT IT DOESN’T MEAN THAT HE IS UNDER THE LAW OF MOSES BECAUSE:

Hebrews 3:3 Jesus has been found worthy of greater honor than Moses, just as the builder of a house has greater honor than the house itself.

Romans 7:12 So then, the law is holy, and the commandment is holy, righteous and good.

IF JESUS WAS UNDER THE LAW, AND WE KNOW THAT WHATEVER THE LAW SAYS,, IT SAYS TO THOSE WHO ARE UNDER THE LAW AND IT IS NOT MADE FOR THE RIGHTEOUS BUT FOR THE LAWBREAKERS, WHAT DO YOU MAKE OF JESUS THEN? WAS HE NOT DECLARED RIGHTEOUS?

IF ANYONE CLAIMS THAT HIS HEAD(JESUS) IS UNDER THE LAW THEN HE HIMSELF(THE BODY) IS UNDER THE LAW.

...So genius....CURSED is everyone that hangs on a tree<----TELL us ALL what JESUS did when he was CRUCIFIED, HUNG on a CROSS and CRIED MY GOD, MY GOD why has thou forsake ME!...

NoNameMcgee and TruthTalk like this.

GOD SAID THAT HE WILL NEVER LEAVE US NOR FORSAKE US.(heb 13:5)

DID GOD FORSAKE JESUS?

DO YOU NOW BELIEVE THAT GOD CAN FORSAKE US IF HE DECIDES TO, JUST TO BE PROVEN RIGHT?

Galatians 3:10,13-14 ALL WHO RELY ON OBSERVING THE LAW ARE UNDER A CURSE, for it is written: “cursed is everyone who does not continue to do everything written in the Book of the Law.” Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us, for it is written: “cursed is everyone who is hung on a tree.” He redeemed us in order that the blessing given to Abraham might come to the Gentiles through Christ Jesus, so that by faith we might receive the promise of the Spirit.

SO, CURSED ARE THOSE WHO ARE HUNG ON A TREE AND THEY ARE THOSE WHO DO NOT CONTINUE TO DO EVERYTHING WRITTEN IN THE BOOK OF THE LAW.

WAS JESUS DISOBEDIENT TO GOD’S LAWS AND COMMANDMENTS THAT HE SHOULD BE CURSED AND DESERVE TO BE HUNG ON A TREE?

OR WAS HE UNDER THE LAW OF MOSES TO DESERVE SUCH DEATH ON THE CROSS?

BUT WHAT DID HE SAY?

John 14:31 but the world must learn that I love the Father and that I do exactly what my Father has commanded me. “Come now; let us leave.

LOVE IS THE FULFILLMENT OF THE LAW.(rom 13:10)

Matthew 5:17 “Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them.

1 John 3:16 This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers.

DID JESUS BECOME SIN FOR US?

Romans 8:3-4 For what the law was powerless to do in that it was weakened by the sinful nature, God did by sending his own Son IN THE LIKENESS OF SINFUL MAN TO BE A SIN OFFERING. And so HE CONDEMNED SIN IN SINFUL MAN, in order that the RIGHTEOUS REQUIREMENTS OF THE LAW might be FULLY MET IN US, who do not live according to the sinful nature but according to the Spirit.

WAS JESUS CURSED?

TO SAY THAT JESUS WAS “UNDER THE LAW” IS EQUIVALENT OR TANTAMOUNT TO DECLARING HIM AS “CURSED" FOR BEING HUNG ON A TREE (DIED ON THE CROSS) BASED ON WHAT THE SCRIPTURES SAY.

….ONLY LIARS AND DECEIVERS WOULD DO SUCH THING.

1 Corinthians 12:3 Therefore I tell you that no one who is speaking by the Spirit of God says, “Jesus be cursed,” and no one can say, “Jesus is Lord,” except by the Holy Spirit.

...LET GOD BE TRUE AND EVERY MAN A LIAR.

FOLKS any and all who deny the above truths have proven they are not of GOD....DO NOT BELIEVE POST 59510..HE DENIES these truths and supplants them with HALF truths and deceit just like the garden when the serpent removed and then added his own words to the bible.......
