I think what it is is that you ladies do love JESUS. You just forget that it is God that is in Him and that it is God that is the ALMIGHTY above everything. Does the Bible not say that God is the Head of Christ ?. When God is the Head of Christ and when it is God that created everything would it not be wise to do as he says ?.

Now, how can a woman be a minister, when God said she was not to even speak in the church ? Any argument that a woman should be able to be a minister is 100% against what God has said and there is no doubt about that fact. You ladies just go on believing as you wish.
55There were also many women there, looking on from a distance, who had followed Jesus from Galilee, ministering to him, 56among whom were Mary Magdalene and Mary the mother of James and Joseph and the mother of the sons of Zebedee. Matthew 27:55-56

did the Most High say that or did Paul say that?

I do not permit a woman to teach or to exercise authority over a man; rather, she is to remain quiet.

that does not sound like the Most High speaking through a prophet. he even says "I" do not . . ., the "I" is Paul.

the Most High chose Anna as one of the witnesses for the temple dedication for Jesus. one man and one women. not two men. and yes, Anna spoke in the temple. dont tell Paul.
It was Paul that said it, but only after God gave him authority to say it. This is what you fail to understand. Paul's word is the word of God because God would never command any person to lie.

That has nothing to do with who God commanded to preach within the church. Scripture could not be any more clear that God issued that duty unto man.

Jaybird, God did say this! But, he said it in Greek, to a certain audience of one (Timothy) regarding a local situation. The KJV and all subsequent versions have missed translating “authentein” correctly.

It is a word that only appears once in the Bible. It is an infinitive - so “to ...... “ not “exercise authority over” which is a noun, a verb and a preposition. And it is NOT exousia, which is the noun that really means “authority.” The one that Paul uses over and over to mean “authority.” The word found 102 times in the NT.

So, why did Paul use authentein, instead of exousia? Because he didn’t want to say, “exercise authority over” he wanted it to say, “to domineer” which is what the priestesses of Ephesus were doing.

And pairing “not teach” with “remain quiet” is actuallty how the rabbinical students were instructed to learn. And when they became rabbis, then they were allowed to teach. And so were women, as we have many examples of women teaching in the NT.

Paul is true, and the Bible is true! It hasn’t been translated properly! We won’t even get into the fact that 2 disputed verses don’t make a doctrine. (Disputed because of translational issues, and things we don’t understand, not because the verses are not true, in the context they were written!)

What church? Are you referring to some organized religious congregation held in a man-made building? And if so, what exact denomination? And who is the pastor? And are you commanding that we obey that pastor or you yourself?

Or are you referring to the spiritual church not made by hands whereas Jesus Christ rules in the hearts of His followers?

So, Angela you are now claiming the King James Bible to be incorrect. Somehow I doubt that any of your in depth explanations are going to convince God of this.

I used to see it like jaybird does. I mean, who doesn't read that and say, wait a minute...this sounds nothing LIKE paul...! Just the very fact that he appears to be completely reversing the way he consistently speaks everywhere else is suspicious to anyone paying attention as they read!

But thank God for His scholars who are able to help us to understand!

I am not commanding for any of you to obey anything. I simply pass along God's word in hopes others will follow it. When Paul stated "church" I believe he meant any church of the real God. I do not see in scripture where he excluded any.

YOU asked a question, "how can a woman be a minister, when God said she was not to even speak in the church ?"

I posted SCRIPTURE that states that women MINISTERED to Jesus. It pretty much speaks for itself.

how can a woman be a minister, when God said she was not to even speak in the church ?
Women MINISTERED to Jesus. The Bible says so.

55There were also many women there, looking on from a distance, who had followed Jesus from Galilee, ministering to him, 56among whom were Mary Magdalene and Mary the mother of James and Joseph and the mother of the sons of Zebedee. Matthew 27:55-56

Who exactly are Paul's scholars that help us to understand that he meant something different than what he actually said ?

That is precisely what Angela said in her second sentence. She said the KJV Bible was incorrect in it's translation.

This has me scratching my head...
I said Gods' scholars.
And many of those very scholars have been speaking of the original greek and how certain words could have been translated better into English. The men who originally did the translating didn't have evil intentions, they just weren't advanced students of greek.

So if I'm walking down a road and the Holy Spirit urged me to share the Gospel with a man on the side of the road and gave me a specific Word of Wisdom to give to this person, you think I should not speak because I'm a woman. Is that correct? You think I should not preach the Gospel to this lost man even though the Holy Spirit directed me to?

Yes, well, it is sometimes a difficult thing to translate from one language into another. There are all kinds of problems one can run into in translating.

Fine then, who exactly of God's scholars are more inspired by God than Paul was himself ? Who exactly is it that knows for a fact that Paul made a mistake of words ?

Of course, if God gave that direction to you then you should share the word with that man alongside the road. You are told to spread the word of God, just not in a sermon inside of a church.
