I hope this thread won't get closed like my previous thread cuz i'm really scared of getting banned.I attend the redeemed christian church of God, rccg for short. I would like to visit Jehovah witnesses church and the catholics to satisfy my curiosity of their mode of service and doctrines... I would love to attend hillsong church or chapel (which is it) cuz my favourite gospel artists/group came from there.. hillsong worship, hillsong united and hillsong alive and free..I hope this thread comes alive

Well I don't know any churches to go too but when I wanted to learn more about the Catholics I joined a Catholic forum they have forums for pretty much anything these days

I would avoid the Jehovah Witnesses as they deny the divinity of Jesus Christ. I was born and raised a Catholic and have attended mass many times but no longer do so because a lot of the doctrine conflicts with scripture. My wife is a SDA and have attended many services with her and find that to be a bible believing church that teaches and preach a sound message on salvation. They do believe in the Sabbath however but do not put anyone down that has a problem with that or is struggling to know what that is about. I have not attended services for over a year due to conflicts at work on my schedule but hope to attend again soon. I recommend a bible believing church that stresses salvation and one that is not hypercritical to those that may not entirely agree with every point of view or who are struggling to learn the Word of God in hopes of applying it to their lives.

SDA, Seventh Day Adventists. Some Christians view them as a cult, others see them as fine.
Catholics believe in praying to the dead, that Mary is divine and sinless and to be prayed to as well. That ritual acts given by a priest can get sins forgiven, or so that's how I understand it. And that the pope is sinless and speaks for God, who apparently changed His mind on what is and isn't sin.
JW's are consider a full blown cult and not a denomination, same as Mormons. I don't recall any of their beliefs but I have heard about them in the past.
Going to a Catholic or JW church is essentially like saying "I want to be fed lies and mislead spiritually".

As for myself I haven't been in years. I have physical and health issues that limit my mobility. And medication that lowers my immune system. So being in a packed place where everyone is touching hands is not ideal for me.

Sister, don't go to a Catholic or Jehovah's Witness "church", even just to satisfy your curiosity. Do some reading on them from a Christian perspective, if you need to know. Neither of those groups are interested in what the Bible, I am sorry to say.

Personally, I go to an Orthodox Presbyterian Church (OPC), which I have been very happy with.

I already know the churches so i don't think there would be a reason to read about them... i come from a line of catholics but i'm not one and i have 3-5 jw friends.... i would like to see it for myself... seeing and feeling for yourself is better than feeling what someone else feels

Close scrutiny of the Jehovah's Witness doctrinal position on such subjects as the deity of Christ, salvation, the Trinity, the Holy Spirit, and the atonement shows beyond a doubt that they do not hold to orthodox Christian positions on these subjects. How do the Jehovah’s Witnesses justify these unbiblical doctrines? The Watchtower Bible and Tract Society altered the text of the Bible to make it fit their false doctrine, rather than basing their doctrine on what the Bible actually teaches. The New World Translation has gone through numerous editions, as the Jehovah’s Witnesses discover more and more Scriptures that contradict their doctrines.

The Watchtower bases its beliefs and doctrines on the original and expanded teachings of Charles Taze Russell, Judge Joseph Franklin Rutherford, and their successors. The governing body of the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society is the only body in the cult that claims authority to interpret Scripture. In other words, what the governing body says concerning any scriptural passage is viewed as the last word, and independent thinking is strongly discouraged. This is in direct opposition to Paul's admonition to Timothy (and to us as well) to study to be approved by God, so that we need not be ashamed as we correctly handle the Word of God. There is probably no religious group that is more faithful than the Jehovah’s Witnesses at getting their message out. I go to an Assemblies Of God Pentecostal church. While I defend them against those that call blasphemy on them I see myself wanting to go to Hillsong Church in downtown Manhattan. I've seen their live services and it fits my taste.
