I'll start us off.
I've been fond of road biking for a long time, but I'm getting into MTB and I love it.
Love it.
I ride a Trek Marlin 7. A beginner-intermediate MTB. It's all I could afford when I bought it. The nice part is that the aluminum frame has a lifetime warranty. So, I can ride until parts break and switch them out piecemeal.
No need so far. I'm not doing anything truly death-defying at the moment.
It's an affordable lifelong hobby that matures with you. I stopped biking when I was 15 and picked it up again not too long ago because running for cardio got old.
After navigating a tight squeeze and short jump I realized "man this thing can take me where cars can't!" Been in love ever since.

I very much enjoy cycling! Just me, nature, and my dogs...Yeah; good times. I also find I think of a lot of subjects to pray about when I'm on a bike.
Mostly, I am interested in getting from here to there on anything that will get me there; but biking is definitely a favourite mode of transportation for short distances. In the summer I often traverse the 2 1/2 miles to the mailbox and back. It is brisk, quick, and exhilarating.

I used to mountain bike in the canyons here back in the 90s. It was a lot of fun. Kind of dangerous too. I stopped after a couple of mt bikers were killed by mountain lions in the same areas I biked at. Now I'm so out of shape I probably couldn't even bike to the local grocery store. I do have a decent mountain bike though that sits in my garage under a cover. It's a Diamondback with triple-butted aluminum frame, shimano gears and shifter, front suspension and its nice and light. I bought it new in 2010 and I think I rode it twice.. :/

I think we have the same helmet! Hahaha.
I'm looking to switch it out with a red trail helmet at some point soon. Save the other as a back-up. Maybe for a ride companion. It's lightly used.

I have a Giant Cypress and my wife has a Giant LIV. We enjoy riding on bike trails near our home and we also like riding on the Katy Trail.

Yes but is it so Dakota or is it soda Coda? When you say it fast... or even if you say it at a regular conversational speed, it's hard to tell which it is.
At any rate, can anybody tell me where I can chat with somebody who knows about making bicycle battery packs? I'm planning to get some LiFePo4 cells and make my own - shouldn't even need a BMS, lipo batteries are very stable - but I'm wondering what I overlooked. If I didn't overlook anything, why do so many people buy battery packs already assembled instead of making their own?
