Hi, I'm Matthew and I'm 13. I kinda have a rough home life cause my mom left a few years ago and my drunk dad neglects me so I'm kinda on my own and I support myself. Idk know if I'm christian or not... Just came here to find nice people.

Welcome. Be assured that GOD IS REAL and that He does have a plan for you. You may not know what that is right now but you will. Just try your best to stay away from drugs and be honest. Hi Matt, being 13 years old and have the courage to admit some of the things you just admitted says a lot about you. I pray that your home life becomes better each and every day. Turn to Jesus and talk with him every chance you get. I wish I would have turned to Christ at an earlier age. I’m 28 now, but grew up in church, and the older I got, the more I gave into the temptations of this world. In my opinion it only gets harder to come to Christ the older you get. Give your life to the lord , and fully sell out to live for him each and every day. I can promise you by the time you’re my age, you won’t regret it. If you want to talk just DM me buddy. Praying for your home life and that God will show you HIS plan for YOUR life.

Welcome, Matt. You are in a very hard situation for someone so young. Surrounding yourself with people you can trust will help. This site is a good start! Have you talked to your guidance counselor and/or other family member? Have you considered going to a youth group at a local church or Young Life? Getting connected with other Christians will help you to know you are loved and belong to a family of God. Praying you will find some healthy outlets for you to become the person you are called to be by the Lord.
I haven't talked to a guidance counselor or anyone like that all all because tbh I'm use to my situation and being mostly on my own and it's fine with me if that doesn't change. I've thought about going to church but it seems like it would be reall wierd and awkward and people would give me wierd looks and wonder why I'm there. I just don't feel like a kid like me belongs in a church lol
It is natural for people to be curious about newcomers, and being noticed may feel a whole lot better than being completely ignored. I am fairly certain that most congregations would welcome you with open arms

Matthew, hello. I have been where you are, it is not easy. I want to influence you to do right by yourself, always do what is right, do your best in school and take care of yourself.
I heard of God at a young age, and I asked, "Who is God", this is what I heard, "God, is our Father in heaven who loves us and sent His Son to die for our sins", from a friend as we played dolls and I believed in Him, and His love, and this thing sin my friend said it is why we hurt each other and those we love... this made sense. I went many years as a believer in God. I became a Christian when I was about 28, I bought my first bible and came to faith in Christ. And, I became a churched person in my thirties.
God knows our pain, He knows our hearts, He knows us from beginning to end and gives us His word for comfort, strength and understanding as we walk in this world, Jesus prayed, "I pray not that thou shouldest take them out of the world, but that thou shouldest keep them from the evil." And Paul said, "I would have you wise unto that which is good, and simple concerning evil."
God bless you and keep you over these next couple of years, do right things for your future self, and even for your parents sake. Eventually, my Dad quit drinking, but he died of lung cancer from smoking, 3 yrs ago, he was 64. In recent years, I have been able to reconnect with my Mom, she's not as toxic as she used to be. I have been able to share Christ and the gospel of peace with both of my parents, and that is a precious gift.
I hope you find some friends in this forum, and I hope you make good choices despite your current circumstance.

Hi! Sorry to hear about your situation. Life can be very hard sometimes, but rest assured that God will always be with you. And about church, church can be discouraging sometimes, but I'm sure you will find a church where people would welcome you and love you as a brother in Christ.
