Should Christians Hunt?

I never had an opinion about this before but I was thinking this morning, in nature carnivores hunt and kill but it serves a purpose. It strengthens the collective of both parties involved. The stronger thrive/survive to pass on genes and the weaker die so they don’t. We humans already have an unfair advantage in this survival game. We already eat to excess, probably two to three times our required calorie need (foregoing a necessity), then we aim for the stronger, trophy worthy animals. This messes up God’s design of natural selection. We could argue that the medical industry is plenty guilty of this but for now I’m just interested in your thoughts on hunting.

Christians can hunt for food,for what is the difference if they buy their food that somebody else provided,or they provide it themselves,as long as they are not doing it illegally according to the law,for God said to obey the law of man as long as it does not hinder His truth,and salvation,then obey God.

But a Christian should not hunt for sport whether to display a trophy or not,for that is not right,and even the sacrifices of Israel,like bulls,God allowed the priests to eat the meat,and the Lamb's blood in Egypt on their house they got to eat the Lamb,for they had to have their sins washed by the blood of animals,but God was not going to let the meat go to waste.

Hunt for food,not for sport,and trophy,for there would be no difference if someone else provided food for you,or you providing the food yourself,for you would have to go along with the person that provides the food,and if a Christian should not hunt to take an animal's life,then if they eat meat provided by someone else then they are an accessory to the crime,lol.

I am a vegetarian, so I generally have no stake in hunting.

However, we have huge herds of stupid mule deer that roam the streets of our city. We are an orchard and vineyard growing area, they are eating those. My husband put a fence around most of our yard, but I have a few flowers and bulbs in the front yard.

First, those monsters ate my crocuses. So I put up a small fence. Somehow, they weren’t able to get the daffodils, but they actually pressed the fence ON THE TOP, and ate the flowers off all my tulips last night.

I will therefore be offering free food and a lovely room overlooking the lake and mountains, for any intrepid hunter who is willing to shoot deer in a city. A lot of deer! And fast! The city pushes this off on the province, the province is busy fighting gas and oil pipelines that are needed.

On second thought, just bring your guns and shoot the politicians, that would be even better. You Americans wouldn’t mind doing that for me, right?

Angela, just encourage your meat-eating neighbours to get proficient with bolas; they are surprisingly effective against unwanted four- (and two-) legged intruders. Plus, all the coyotes will clean up the mess before sunrise.
