I think he was asking about this verse:

John 3:5-7 (NIV)
[SUP]5 [/SUP] Jesus answered, "I tell you the truth, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless he is born of water and the Spirit.
[SUP]6 [/SUP] Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to spirit.
[SUP]7 [/SUP] You should not be surprised at my saying, 'You must be born again.'

Lots of the Cults, and a few real Christians want to say that their denomination's "Christian Water Baptism" is part of SALVATION. Yes we are to be Walking Like Christ after we are SAVED, and one of the first steps we take, of obedience is to submit to Christian Water Baptism. BUT THAT IS NOT WHAT JOHN IS TALKING ABOUT IN VERSE FIVE. He is comparing you have to be BORN PHYSICALLY and later SPIRITUALLY, when the Holy Spirit births you human spirit to Eternal Life. HE did not change subjects between verse 5 and 6. HE is talking about all of the SAME THING in verse 5 and 6. It was a normal conversation, and the verses were not inserted until 1551, and in normal conversation you do not change subjects in the middle of two sentences. In other words it is talking about the breaking of water during natural Child Birth, and later the Spirit gives birth to the human spirit.

Just for Example: The Mormons because of the misinterpretation of that verse, even get baptized for the DEAD, because they think they are saving the whole world by doing that for anyone who has not accepted Mormonism. They are SAVING nobody, including themselves, because it is LITERALLY A MISINTERPRETATION, that cannot Save.

The IMMERSION THAT SAVES, is when the Holy Spirit immerses us into the spiritual body of Christ:

1 Corinthians 12:12-14 (HCSB)
[SUP]12 [/SUP] For as the body is one and has many parts, and all the parts of that body, though many, are one body—so also is Christ.
[SUP]13 [/SUP] For we were all baptized by one Spirit into one body—whether Jews or Greeks, whether slaves or free—and we were all made to drink of one Spirit.
[SUP]14 [/SUP] So the body is not one part but many.
The Spiritual Body of Christ, of which HE is head, is made up of all true Believers of all time. WE WERE ALL IMMERSED into that Body, by the HOLY SPIRIT, including the THIEF ON THE CROSS.

Sorry, the program eliminated the space between the last verse quoted and the comment at the end. It should read this way:

1 Corinthians 12:12-14 (HCSB)
[SUP]12 [/SUP]For as the body is one and has many parts, and all the parts of that body, though many, are one body—so also is Christ.
[SUP]13 [/SUP]For we were all baptized by one Spirit into one body—whether Jews or Greeks, whether slaves or free—and we were all made to drink of one Spirit.
[SUP]14 [/SUP]So the body is not one part but many.

The Spiritual Body of Christ, of which HE is head, is made up of all true Believers of all time. WE WERE ALL IMMERSED into that Body, by the HOLY SPIRIT, including the THIEF ON THE CROSS.

salvation is being born with a spirit... the story of adam and eve says God breathed a living soul into adam, a spirit from his kingdom.. i really cant see anything else being as close to salvation than that..

Thanks no thanks. I'll stick to my kjv and change it when God asks me to
God caused the original Hebrew, Aramaic and Greek to be the Word of God. God all translations are made by man and flawed. Your idiotic statement ignores this simple fact. God expects you to use your brain and understand facts about the Bible. God didn't ordain the KJV translation King James did in 1610 and it was finished in 1611. Over 400 years ago. You ignore language changes over time. Go read an original text of Choucer and see if you can understand it. Then there is Shakespeare that uses word you can't understand. He had a lot of humor that is not understood today because jobs and other things do not exist today.

Language changes over time. KJV has the same problem as Shakespeare had. This is why current translations are REQUIRED. Here are some sites that discuss the problems of KJV. Read them and learn from the experts in translation.

For the Admin.

This site has a problem with the CR LF software the site uses. CR is carriage return and LF is line feed. This software adds an LF after a CR automatically creating an extra LF in addition to the one the software the user transmits. This causes extra white space every time a user adds a blank line to seperate items, paragraphs, etc. Turning the single blank line into 2 blank lines. I dealt with this issue in texts I had to place on various operating systems. This information will help your techs fix this annoying problem.

there is so much to explain brothers and sisters but I encourage you to read the new testament and take god's guidance the whole way and please don't read it with anyone who wants to teach you because there already is a teacher and he is jesus you would be amazed as I was as who jesus really is and what he has told his followers to do is nothing easy and nothing you hear in church yes ofcourse ask for help but wouldn't you want God to help you instead of anyone else....I don't wish to continue because I'm going to irritate people and that is not what I wish to do....there is so many people out there suffering because they are lost, and if one is lost we are all lost and if one is hurt we are all hurting please stay away from media famous religious leaders and their teachings and anyone who teaches their teachings just stick to what jesus teaches you.... everything is corrupted and it seems worse every day wish we can get together in person and learn from God but ofcourse the devil will have his way but not for long pray.pray.fast.fast.believe and follow christ because people (we need each other) not just Christians but everyone needs each other much love and prayers to you all

Why do you suppose that HE gave us these Instructions?

Ephesians 4:11-14 (HCSB)
[SUP]11 [/SUP] And He personally gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, some pastors and teachers,
[SUP]12 [/SUP] for the training of the saints in the work of ministry, to build up the body of Christ,
[SUP]13 [/SUP] until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of God’s Son, ⌊growing⌋ into a mature man with a stature measured by Christ’s fullness.
[SUP]14 [/SUP] Then we will no longer be little children, tossed by the waves and blown around by every wind of teaching, by human cunning with cleverness in the techniques of deceit.

Find a good BIBLE TEACHING CHURCH, and submit to those spiritually gifted to Teach.

Romans 10:14-17 (HCSB)
[SUP]14 [/SUP] But how can they call on Him they have not believed in? And how can they believe without hearing about Him? And how can they hear without a preacher?
[SUP]15 [/SUP] And how can they preach unless they are sent? As it is written: How beautiful are the feet of those who announce the gospel of good things!
[SUP]16 [/SUP] But all did not obey the gospel. For Isaiah says, Lord, who has believed our message?
[SUP]17 [/SUP] So faith comes from what is heard, and what is heard comes through the message about Christ.

You should be able to find a BIBLE TEACHING near you, and read through their Statement of Faith first to see if you agree with it. Then when there are any questions about what they mean by what they said in their Statement of Faith, or some unanswered questions, DO FEEL YOU NEED CALL AND MAKE AN APPOINTMENT TO VISIT THE CHURCH FIRST, AND ASK THE PASTOR PERSONALLY FOR HIS EXPLANATION OF YOUR QUESTIONS. For Example, I always ask "Do you believe in ordaining women?" Because I personally believe that is forbidden by God, 1 Timothy 2:12.

I have done that with EVERY Church that I have attended since I was Born Again in 1977, and we moved a lot.

Here is a typical Statement of Faith, that I can agree with:

• We believe the Bible to be the inspired, and is infallible in it's original language manuscripts, therefore it is the authoritative Word of God. 1 Thessalonians 2:13; 2 Timothy 3:15-17.

• We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Matthew 28:19; John 10:30; Ephesians 4:4-6.

• We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His personal return in power and glory. Matthew 1:23; John 1:1-4 and 1:29; Acts 1:11 and 2:22-24; Romans 8:34; 1 Corinthians 15:3-4; 2 Corinthians 5:21; Philippians 2:5-11; Hebrews 1:1-4 and 4:15.

• We believe that all men everywhere are lost and face the judgment of God, that Jesus Christ is the only way of salvation, and that for the salvation of lost and sinful man, repentance of sin and faith in Jesus Christ results in regeneration by the Holy Spirit. Luke 24:46-47; John 14:6; Acts 4:12; Romans 3:23; 2 Corinthians 5:10-11; Ephesians 1:7 and 2:8-9; Titus 3:4-7.

• We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit, whose indwelling enables the Christian to live a godly lifestyle, and when we fail, brings conviction and repentance of each new sin. John 3:5-8; Acts 1:8; Romans 8:9; 1 Corinthians 2:14; Galatians 5:16-18; Ephesians 6:12; Colossians 2:6-10, 1 John 1:9, Revelation 3:19.

• We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost; the saved unto the resurrection of eternal life and the lost unto the resurrection of damnation and eternal punishment. 1 Corinthians 15:51-57; Revelation 20:11-15.

• We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ and that all true believers are members of His body, the Church. 1 Corinthians 12:12, 27; Ephesians 1:22-23.

• We believe that the ministry of evangelism and discipleship is a responsibility of all followers of Jesus Christ. Matthew 28:18-20; Acts 1:8; Romans 10:9-15; 1 Peter 3:15.

I agree with him about finding a good gospel preaching church. It is a very good good idea to talk with the pastor. Keep in mind that there are differences of opinion about everything outside the Apostles Creed which was created by the early elders to draw the line in the sand as to the beliefs a Christian must believe. There were divisions in the early church and everything outside the creed is to be debatable Including his mention of ordaining women. While I partially agree with him I believe the requirements in the Bible are men elders and men and women deacons. In fact one deacon in the early church was a woman. Part of the requirement of an elder is to be a man of one woman. There is no requirement for men only deacons. A denomination may choose men only or not.

Nice try....Abraham was declared righteous by faith without works long before he was even circumcised and or offered Isaac........get your facts straight
dcon says;

BLAH BLAH BLAH more working for pseudo salvation.....My bible teaches salvation is a present CURRENT possession.....

Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy HAS HE SAVED US <--PAST TENSE

YES..JESUS did become SIN for us....<--Only a deceiver would reject this truth as well....

He made Him who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf, so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.

JESUS was BORN of a WOMAN, BORN UNDER THE LAW and “was CURSEDwhen he hung on a TREE....<--Only deceivers would reject the word of God which states as much....

Christ redeemed us from the curse of the Law, having become a curse for us-- for it is written, "CURSED IS EVERYONE WHO HANGS ON A TREE "

FOLKS any and all who deny the above truths have proven they are not of GOD....DO NOT BELIEVE POST 59510..HE DENIES these truths and supplants them with HALF truths and deceit just like the garden when the serpent removed and then added his own words to the bible.......

Seohce

...”JESUS was BORN of a WOMAN, BORN UNDER THE LAW and “was CURSED” when he hung on a TREE....<--Only deceivers would reject the word of God which states as much....”

THIS IS A CLEAR DECLARATION BY DCON THAT JESUS WAS “CURSED”.

I DECLARE THAT OUR LORD JESUS IS THE ONLY BEGOTTEN SON OF GOD, PURE, HOLY AND UNDEFILED. HE IS THE WAY, THE TRUTH AND THE LIFE AND THE WORD THAT BECAME FLESH.

SINCE WHEN HAS THE GOSPEL CHANGED? WHERE DOES IT SAY THAT JESUS “WAS CURSED”?

... THAT IF YOU CONFESS WITH YOUR MOUTH “JESUS IS LORD” …...AND YOU WILL BE SAVED. (rom 10:9)

John 3:16 “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

1 Corinthians 15:1-4 Now, brothers, I want to remind you of the gospel I preached to you, which you received and on which you have taken your stand. By this gospel you are saved, if you hold firmly to the word I preached to you. Otherwise, you have believed in vain. For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures,

God has said, “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.” So we say with confidence, “The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can man do to me?” Remember your leaders, who spoke the word of God to you. Consider the outcome of their way of life and imitate their faith. Jesus Christ is THE SAME yesterday and today and forever.(heb 13:5-8)

John 6:63 The Spirit gives life; the flesh counts for nothing. The words I have spoken to you are spirit and they are life.

Isaiah 5:20-24 Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter. Woe to those who are wise in their own eyes and clever in their own sight. Woe to those who are heroes at drinking wine and champions at mixing drinks, who acquit the guilty for a bribe, but deny justice to the innocent. Therefore, as tongues of fire lick up straw and as dry grass sinks down in the flames, so their roots will decay and their flowers blow away like dust; for THEY HAVE REJECTED THE LAW OF THE LORD ALMIGHTY and SPURNED THE WORD OF THE HOLY ONE OF ISRAEL.

WOE TO THOSE WHO CALL JESUS “CURSED".

YOU HAVE TO GIVE ACCOUNT FOR THE FF;
I
FOR REJECTING THE LAW OF THE LORD ALMIGHTY
FOR HAVING SPURNED THE WORD OF THE HOLY ONE OF ISRAEL
FOR CALLING JESUS “CURSED".

1 Corinthians 12:3 Therefore I tell you that no one who is speaking by the Spirit of God says, “Jesus be cursed,” and no one can say, “Jesus is Lord,” except by the Holy Spirit.

Matthew 12:36-37 But I tell you that men will have to give account on the day of judgment for every careless word they have spoken. For by your words you will be acquitted, and by your words you will be condemned.”

Bare in mind, that CHRIST WALKS around and through SEVEN different CHURCHES, where there are different Characteristics. What we agree on that are in common, is the Doctrine of the Holy Trinity, JESUS paid for our Sins, the Holy Spirit empowers us to resist Sin, and the Pastors Teach us to Minister to the unsaved as the Holy Spirit empowers us to Serve and present the Gospel. Yes, I did say that work of the Ministry is all of our Jobs, while our Pastor's job is to teach us how. Now the Denominational Differences, I believe it is OUR JOB to do our home work, trying to find a Church that Matches our Beliefs. It is counter productive to go into a Church, and then try to change their Beliefs, in fact it is Satan's work to stir up bickering and dissension among Believers.

For example: I believe that Speaking in Tongues was only for the Apostles, and the Modern Day examples of speaking in tongues is nothing more that a counterfeit. No I do not want to debate it. Therefore, GOD has made me responsible to seek out a Church with like minded Teachings. It would be Wrong of me to go into a Pentecostal or Charismatic Church to try to CHANGE THEM. So one of the questions that I would ask their PASTOR is what is your Position on the Charismatic gifts.

nope othere way around. the devils believe in Christ, they might even look like His angles but their not. same with people, the my believe in God, they may even work an look like good people. but without faith, with out that true relationship with the word of God and the Lord Himself, there is nothing there. these are the people that flee on the first sign of persecution.
Is not Jesus the word?

John 1:1-5

The Gospel According to
JOHN
Chapter 1
The Eternal Word
1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was in the beginning with God. 3 All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. 4 In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. 5 And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it.

I BELIEVE THAT YOU HAVE SAID THESE THINGS AND MORE AND CAN'T BELIEVE HOW YOU NOW CLAIM THESE THINGS UNLESS YOU HAVE CHANGED YOUR MIND.

Now, here is my understanding. We WILL want to obey, NOT HAVE TO OBEY, when the HOLY SPIRIT births our human spirit into ETERNAL LIFE. It is PART OF OUR NEW NATURE, that LOVE FOR GOD, and it actually comes from GOD himself, because of ROM.5:5.

SO, LOVE FOR GOD, COMES AFTER, GOD PUTS HIS LOVE IN US, BY HAVING THE HOLY SPIRIT POUR GOD'S LOVE IN OUR HEARTS = SALVATION. THEN AFTER THAT WE CAN LOVE GOD, AND LOVE FOR GOD IS OUR OBEDIENCE. SO IT IS PART OF OUR LOVE FOR GOD, and not part of our SALVATION.

AMEN!

dcon says:

The lawyer is still peddling the law.......

The law deems guilt....no one keeps it...all are law breakers...we have been justified by faith without the deeds of the LAW...

Faith is what saves and justifies before God...not attempting to keep that which cannot be kept.....!!

New International Version 1984 1 Corinthians 14:26-40 Orderly Worship What then shall we say, brothers? When you come together, everyone has a hymn, or a word of instruction, a revelation, a tongue or an interpretation. All of these must be done for the strengthening of the church. If anyone speaks in a tongue, two—or at the most three—should speak, one at a time, and someone must interpret. If there is no interpreter, the speaker should keep quiet in the church and speak to himself and God. Two or three prophets should speak, and the others should weigh carefully what is said. And if a revelation comes to someone who is sitting down, the first speaker should stop. For you can all prophesy in turn so that everyone may be instructed and encouraged. The spirits of prophets are subject to the control of prophets. For God is not a God of disorder but of peace. As in all the congregations of the saints, women should remain silent in the churches. They are not allowed to speak, but must be in submission, as the Law says. If they want to inquire about something, they should ask their own husbands at home; for it is disgraceful for a woman to speak in the church. Did the word of God originate with you? Or are you the only people it has reached? If anybody thinks he is a prophet or spiritually gifted, let him acknowledge that what I am writing to you is the Lord’s command. If he ignores this, he himself will be ignored. Therefore, my brothers, be eager to prophesy, and do not forbid speaking in tongues. But everything should be done in a fitting and orderly way.

IS THERE SOMETHING WRONG WITH THIS THAT WE HAVE TO SAY OTHERWISE?

13 If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. 2 If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. 3 If I give all I possess to the poor and surrender my body to the flames, but have not love, I gain nothing.

4 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5 It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

8 Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away. 9 For we know in part and we prophesy in part, 10 but when perfection comes, the imperfect disappears. 11 When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put childish ways behind me. 12 Now we see but a poor reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.

13 And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.

New International Version 1984 Hebrews 5:7-9 During the days of Jesus’ life on earth, he offered up prayers and petitions with loud cries and tears to the one who could save him from death, and he was heard because of his reverent submission. Although he was a son, he learned obedience from what he suffered and, once made perfect, he became the source of eternal salvation for all who obey him

New International Version 1984 Romans 6:15-23 Slaves to Righteousness What then? Shall we sin because we are not under law but under grace? By no means! Don’t you know that when you offer yourselves to someone to obey him as slaves, you are slaves to the one whom you obey—whether you are slaves to sin, which leads to death, or to obedience, which leads to righteousness? But thanks be to God that, though you used to be slaves to sin, you wholeheartedly obeyed the form of teaching to which you were entrusted. You have been set free from sin and have become slaves to righteousness. I put this in human terms because you are weak in your natural selves. Just as you used to offer the parts of your body in slavery to impurity and to ever-increasing wickedness, so now offer them in slavery to righteousness leading to holiness. When you were slaves to sin, you were free from the control of righteousness. What benefit did you reap at that time from the things you are now ashamed of? Those things result in death! But now that you have been set free from sin and have become slaves to God, the benefit you reap leads to holiness, and the result is eternal life. For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

New International Version 1984 Galatians 6:7-10 Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows. The one who sows to please his sinful nature, from that nature will reap destruction; the one who sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life. Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers.

This site is a great place to discuss the differences between the different gospel preaching denominations. Always keep in mind to agree to disagree about the differences. For example I am a Calvinist therefore disagree with Armenians. However I know there is a possibility that I am wrong. We will all learn our errors when we are with Jesus.

No. But obviously not KJV. It would use charity instead of love. In 1611 charity meant love.
