The difference between a job contract and adoption papers

The old covenant laws are part of the job contract.

God hired the nation of Israel as teachers and babysitters for the Seed and His prophecies.

Jesus established the New covenant to invite people to become adopted children of God.

Just as hiring someone and adopting someone has totally different laws and terms in each contract, so does the old and new covenant.

Galatians 3
21Is the law then contrary to the promises of God? Certainly not! For if a law had been given that could give life, then righteousness would indeed be by the law. 22But the Scripture imprisoned everything under sin, so that the promise by faith in Jesus Christ might be given to those who believe.

23Now before faith came, we were held captive under the law, imprisoned until the coming faith would be revealed. 24So then, the law was our guardian until Christ came, in order that we might be justified by faith. 25But now that faith has come, we are no longer under a guardian, 26for in Christ Jesus you are all sons of God, through faith

What do you define as sin?

I define it as disobendience to the Holy spirit and His leading. It's more than a written standard it's a relationship.

Once again I must go with the Word which became Flesh and His definition. Sin= "Transgression of God's Laws".

And it is a written standard. It was written in Stone, in Books, and for God's people it is written on their hearts.

It is done this way so we would know if we, or others have been deceived or not. There is a clear Path that Jesus walked which shined as a bright light that He was from God and not from man. This Path was God's Instructions. He didn't walk in sin, or transgression to God's Commandments, or create religious traditions as does religious man. He Honored His Father with obedience to His Words, that is the Light He didn't hide under a basket.

John 8:36 Say ye of him, whom the Father hath sanctified, and sent into the world, Thou blasphemest; because I said, I am the Son of God?
37 If I do not the works of my Father, believe me not.

38 But if I do, though ye believe not me, believe the works: that ye may know, and believe, that the Father is in me, and I in him.

In other Word's Jesus had faith in His Father, and by His Works was His faith perfected.

It is MORE than a written standard, ITS a relationship.

If you write a to do list for your kids to do chores...how is that different than being there and teaching them how to wash dishes and speaking with them? Maybe even helping them finish the chores and then spending the day at the beach?

The old covenant is a written list.

The New Covenant is God teachings us by His Holy spirit.

Abraham had God speaking to him directly...that is better than laws, statues and ordinances.

And when God Spoke directly to Abraham, did He not instruct him and prove him? Does it make a difference if God tells you to do something, or writes you a note telling you to do something?

Look, we just go in circles. I'm quite sure we won't agree on what the New Covenant is.

I know what HE SAID the New Covenant is, I know what Hebrews 7-8 says the New Covenant is. And I have posed them. I know many mainstream preachers have a different teaching, but I must go with the Word which became Flesh.

Jesus is our example. He is the Author and finisher of my Faith. He showed us the perfect Walk. He gave His people examples so we would learn what to do, and what not to do. He walked the Path God created for ALL mankind. You don't believe this, but I do.

I Cor. 10:5 But with many of them God was not well pleased: for they were overthrown in the wilderness.6 Now these things were our examples, to the intent we should not lust after evil things, as they also lusted.

11 Now all these things happened unto them for ensamples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come.
12 Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall.

The Old Covenant is what The word which became Flesh says it is, IMO.

Jeremiah 31:But this shall be the covenant that I (The Word which became Flesh) will make.

As I said from the very beginning, we should get our information about what the New covenant is from Him. It's right there in your Bible. We all have to make a choice between what He teaches and what the religion we are born into teaches. Jesus did, Paul did, Abraham did, and so do you and I.

The difference is individual instructions versus a rulebook.

"Mainstream preachers" isnt anything but a subtle insult.

My words at my own and based upon my walk with God. Mistakes and all. I believe in the priesthood of all believers and the need for everyone to pray.

However if you wish to stop conversing that is your choice.

Fyi. I was born into a Buddhist family.

So all my beliefs about the New covenant is based upon the Bible and prayerfully asking God which teachers are from Him and which are just wolves.

False accussations already?

What Law was not against the promises of God? Because you don't understand the New Covenant was a change in the Priesthood, you don't understand what Paul was up against here.

Gal. 3:1 O foolish Galatians, who hath bewitched you, that ye should not obey the truth, before whose eyes Jesus Christ hath been evidently set forth, crucified among you?2 This only would I learn of you, Received ye the Spirit by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?

The Jews didn't believe Jesus was the High Priest. They continued to push their version of the Levitical Priesthood sacrificial "works of the Law" for remission of sin, and not faith in the Word which became Flesh that died and was raised from the dead.

They refused to acknowledge the New Covenant, that the remission of sins by the blood of goats was always a shadow of Christ's blood and His sacrifice. It was never the blood of goats that "Gave Life", it was always the blood of the Christ slain from the foundation of the World.

Heb. 1:1 For the law (What Law)having a shadow of good things to come, and not the very image of the things, can never with those sacrifices which they offered year by year continually make the comers thereunto perfect.

This is speaking to the Priesthood, not God's instructions for the people. This is talking about how sins are forgiven, not the definition of sin.

2 For then would they not have ceased to be offered? because that the worshippers once purged should have had no more conscience of sins.
3 But in those sacrifices there is a remembrance again made of sins every year.

4 For it is not possible that the blood of bulls and of goats should take away sins.

Just like Paul said: "For if a law had been given that could give life, then righteousness (sin removed) would indeed be by the law.

This Priesthood, a shadow of things to come, was in place until the Seed should come. We are no longer under this Priesthood. Now sins are forgiven and God's Laws are administered in a more excellent way as the Word which became Flesh promised all those years ago.

Like the Gospel of Christ says Hab. 2:4 "The Just shall live by Faith".

Based on your posts it seems to me that you don't believe we should walk the same Path Jesus walked. This is a wide spread belief. If that is mistaken I am sorry.

Also, there are modern preachers who say the New Covenant isn't the change in the Priesthood as the Word which became Flesh tells us, but it is the abolition of most if not all of the Old Testament teaching. It was not intended to be a subtle insult, rather, a simple fact.

I have no desire to discontinue this conversation. It would be nice if when I reply to your post, you address my post instead of just jumping on to something else. But maybe that is your way to discuss, I am not judging.

there are a lot of evidence in modern religious traditions and doctrines to support the validity of all of the Warnings of Jesus. IMO.

If I can't trust Him and His words, then who can I trust?

Saturday sabbath observance is rejecting God law. Because they rejecting New Covenant.

Saturday sabbath observance is equal to adulterer killer, the law has been fulfill but they act like the law not been fulfill. So they

ignore and disrespect the sacrifice of Jesus on the cross, or disrespect Jesus Himself.

as we ponder the title of this discussion: New Covenant and old Covenant, why there is new? If we keep practice old, why God give new? If there is no different between old and new, why need new?

You should trust Jesus and His words. That was never the issue. Its how do you understand what Jesus says and which parts of the Old testament speaks of the Old covenant which has been done away with and which parts speaks of the New covenant promises that Jesus expands upon.

I disagree. If people want to keep a Sat Sabbath or all the feast they have that freedom in Christ. It is not a sin.

.it is only a sin when people condemn others for not keeping it or make it a requirement for salvation.

We are to pray unceasingly and trust God to provide our needs every day in the New covenant.

Because you don't understand the New Covenant was a change in the Priesthood, you don't understand what Paul was up against here.

Another false accusation.

Perhaps take a moment and pray before posting?

Why not ask instead of make assumptions?

please explain this- in Matthew 8, after Jesus had cleansed a leper , he told the man he just healed " go show yourself to the priest and offer the gift that Moses commanded."

now, in Leviticus 14, that whole process of what a cleansed leper is supposed to do is under the statement " the Lord spoke to Moses....)

so, why would Jesus say that Moses said something , that under your oneness beliefs , He would have said?

You demand respect but don't give it. You demand to be heard but don't listen.

I have said I believe in the priesthood of all believers in the New covenant.

Do you even know what that means?

For one I know that the Levite priesthood has been abolished along with many other things in the Old covenant like animal sacrifices, feasts and holy days observances.

Do you listen to God or do you try and twist scripture to fit your preconceived doctrines?

Colossians 2:16
New International Version
Therefore do not let anyone judge you by what you eat or drink, or with regard to a religious festival, a New Moon celebration or a Sabbath day.

How honest are you?

3 And Jesus put forth his hand, and touched him, saying, I will; be thou clean. And immediately his leprosy was cleansed.

Notice Jesus didn't perform any of the Levitical Priesthood "works of the Law" to heal this man. Why? Because He is the mediator of a New Covenant in which He heals people of their infirmities, not the Levite Priests as commanded by Moses. He still obeyed God's Commandments, He just didn't partake in the Old Priesthood He said would change in Jeremiah.

4 And Jesus saith unto him, See thou tell no man; but go thy way, shew thyself to the priest, and offer the gift that Moses commanded, for a testimony unto them.

The Priest would have most assuredly known that this man was a leper. When they saw he had been healed with their ceremonies it would dig on them. This is why Jesus said "As a testimony into them". IMO.
