First clue ought to be that the council said abstain from meats offered to idols while Paul was writing in his epistles that idols are nothing...
That did not mean that he was disregarding what was ruled in Acts 15. In fact, if you read the context of idols being nothing, Paul strongly supported the ruling to not eat meats sacrificed to idols. I have already addressed this some time back, but you should study the passage carefully for yourself. The Holy Spirit gave the ruling in Acts 15, and Paul also wrote under the inspiration of the Spirit. THEREFORE THERE CANNOT BE ANY CONTRADICTION.

You and a few others seem to have this odd propesity of respondingincorrectly to a post and putting on all of the peron's posts the ideas you derive in error.

Before you feel qulified to "judge" my faith, read some more of my posts. The ideas are consistend, and they come from Jesus Crhist.

I believe it is more intelligent, if this is what you are going for, to reead what others post in a given thread before responding to whatever you find once and however you abilities interpret it........God bless you, and I pray you work to do His will. Had you even read this one you act as though you are responding to, you will lern that God is perfectin me and all who believe Jesus Christ.....Pay attention and do not respond before hearing the question.........or knowing it in this case.
I agree that JJ is being unjustly accused of something which he does not believe. That is certainly not fair. Here is what he has said and there is absolutely nothing wrong with it:

I am saved by grace. I know that only my Savior was perfect in the sight of God, but while I know to imitate Him and not other in this forum, I will do my best to be perfect until God is finished with the work He began (and continues to do) in me. I should hope this is true with all who believe "thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven."

Thank you for commenting with total understanding. It is refreshing and a great blessing. May you always be blessed in such understanding with all other too, amen. Forever in Jesus Christ's name, amen.

What does the New Testament say about it?

If we are under the Law, we are not led by the Spirit. (Galatians 5:18)

Christ is the end of the Law (Romans 10:4)

No one is justified by the works of the Law (Galatians 2:16)

It has been abolished (Ephesians 2:15)

The Law is not for the Righteous. (1 Timothy 1:8, Galatians 2:21, Romans 3:20)

We can't keep it (James 2:10)

Not even the Jews could (Galatians 6:13)

The Law and faith do not mix (Romans 3:27-28)

If we rely on observing the Law we place ourselves under a curse (Galatians 3:10-11)

The Law is a curse that Jesus redeemed us from (Galatians 3:13)

If we continue in the Law we are fools (Galatians 3:2-3)

We are to live by faith, which the Law is not based on (Galatians 3:11-12)

The Law is lifeless (Galatians 3:21)

The Law only makes us prisoners (Galatians 3:23-25)

We become alienated from Christ (Galatians 5:4)

The Law is weak and makes nothing perfect (Hebrews 7:18-19)

It can never take away sins (Hebrews 10:4)

Paul said he himself was not under the Law (1 Corinthians 9:20)

We have been released from the Law (Romans 7:6)

The Law has been canceled and nailed to the cross (Colossians 2:14)

We are dead to the Law (Romans 7:4)

It is obsolete, outdated, and will disappear (Hebrews 8:13)

We have been justified apart from the Law (Romans 3:21-22, 27-28)

We are under grace, not the Law (Romans 6:14)

Clear enough? :)

If you mean the law which was given to Gods property the folk of Israel. Then no!
If you mean the Lords law. Then Yes!

[FONT=Times New Roman, serif]1 John 5:2-3, "By this we know that we love the children of Yah, when we love Yah and guard His commands. For this is the love for Yah, that we guard His commands, and His commands are not heavy."[/FONT]

Amen.

People must make at least an attempt to learn how it has changed by learning the Word. For now the majority do not. They stop at being free of the curse of the law saying the law is destroyed by Jesus Christ. All should hear Him on all of the subject.

If you mean the law which was given to Gods property the folk of Israel. Then no!
If you mean the Lords law. Then Yes!

2Co 3:14 But their minds were blinded: for until this day remaineth the same vail untaken away in the reading of the old testament; which vail is done away in Christ.

2Co 3:15 But even unto this day, when Moses is read, the vail is upon their heart.

2Co 3:16 Nevertheless when it shall turn to the Lord, the vail shall be taken away.

Most folks still read Moses with tht veil over their eyes, not seeing what is no more and what yet is. There was excuse until Jesus came to teach all of the grace of our Father, but to continue understanding the law with blinders is quite frankly ignoring the teaching of the Gospel of Jesus christ, Yeshua.

If you cannot see that these verses apply to NON-CHRISTIAN JEWS, then no-one can help you....

It seems most do not understand the gravity of meaning in the quote below.

I will clarify if I may from the teaching of Yeshua, Jesus.

Why is it stressed the law was red by the Hebrews with the veil of Mosesblinding the?

They certainly were not blind to the merciless aspects of the law, nor to the complete voice of justice, and there was no faith in the grae and mercy of God in their understanding......ergo they were blinded when reading the law long before the first advent of our blessed and glorious Savior, Jesus.

It is obvious when read without the veil people, those few who were so gifeted, knew the mercy of God otherwise Jeremiah whould never have penned that our God's grae is fresh every day.

When we hear, truly hear, the gospel of Jesus Christ first ever given to Abraham, we understand the law tha remains after Jesus is not a burden for it is allcontained in love. DO NOT OVERLOOK THAT THE TWO LAWS OF LOVE ARE LAWS...AND THEY CONTAIN ALL REMAINLING LAW TO BE OBEYED. obviously if we love indeed all of our sins are covered, but I for one requier the grace afforded by Jesus Christ, that grace that is fresh every day, what about you?

2Co 3:14 But their minds were blinded: for until this day remaineth the same vail untaken away in the reading of the old testament; which vail is done away in Christ.

2Co 3:15 But even unto this day, when Moses is read, the vail is upon their heart.

2Co 3:16 Nevertheless when it shall turn to the Lord, the vail shall be taken away.

no we cant, but the spirit in us can. the law was only given to expose sin nature and to try and contain it but the opposite happened. sin took the law and brought all manner of sinfulness through us.

but by the spirit and the transforming of the mind and the Crucifixion of the flesh His spirit enables us to walk the law of love, that is greater.
And out of Love depends all the Law and the Prophets.

In other words without LOVE there is no fulfilling of the Law.

GOD is LOVE and it is HE that is in us that wills and does HIS good pleasure. Therefore as HE is so are we in this world. We are the LOVE of GOD through HIM. And this is the LOVE of GOD that we guard HIS commandments: and HIS commandments are not grievous. For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith. So say not in thine heart, Who shall ascend into heaven? (that is, to bring Christ (The Word; HIS LAW) down from above:) Or, Who shall descend into the deep? (that is, to bring up Christ (The Word; HIS LAW) again from the dead.) But what saith it? The word (Christ; the LAW) is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach.

The problem you haven't addressed yet is not all the laws the council told the gentiles to keep were Noahide laws. So you can't say they were telling them to keep Noahide laws not the law of Moses.

This makes no sense to me. What other laws were they instructed to keep?

And what contradictions would those be?

In this particular case, the teaching that believers must keep Jesus' law and Moses' law, even though they contradict each other in multiple places. The simplicity of the gospel removes those contradictions, but since that simplicity isn't being taught, elaborate man-made rationalizations (apart from scripture) must must be made to resolve them. For instance, the law isn't abolished, only parts of it are. Totally unscriptural and total confusion.

Because you keep bringing it up. You and others keep insisting that law keeping is automatically and without exception a person trying to make themselves righteous in God's sight. You instantly say the person who keeps the law of Moses is trying to justify themselves and that there can not possibly be any other reason to keep the law.
I never bring up justification.

It is always the excuse you use.

Paul is not saying the Galatians can not keep the law or else they are cursed. He is telling them they can not keep the law TO BE JUSTIFIED or else they are cursed.

"you who are seeking to be justified by law"-Galatians 5:4

See, he did not say, 'you who are keeping the law'. He said, "you who are SEEKING TO BE JUSTIFIED by the law".

It's not a sin to keep the law. It's a sin to keep the law TO BE JUSTIFIED.

Messianic believers are not keeping the law to be justified (made righteous). They are keeping it for the same reason you keep it when you keep the law 'do not steal', 'do not murder', etc.
Paul says those who work at the law are under the curse.

He doesn't say those with a really good excuse are ok.

He doesn't say there are exceptions.

Those who work at the law are under the curse.

So if you look to the 10 commandments, as a Christian, and say to yourself "Yep I have to do that one" and try really hard to do it, then you are working at it.

There must be a reason in your mind why you have to do it.

Maybe we should skip all this and just talk about justification. What does it mean to be justified? And if you aren't justified in something is there still any point in it? Why not just focus on what justifies us?

Grandpa,

When you say a person is gaining salvation by works of the law or works alone, you are saying the same as being justified.....you have said this many times before......... Salvation earned by obedience would be the same as saying justification. We are rewarded come the kingdom for availing ourselves to the works fo God, but we are only justified, or SAVED by grace........

And what contradictions would those be?
Hebrews 7:19 For the law made nothing perfect, but the bringing in of a better hope did; by the which we draw nigh unto God.

Galatians 3:2-3
[SUP]2 [/SUP]This only would I learn of you, Received ye the Spirit by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?
[SUP]3 [/SUP]Are ye so foolish? having begun in the Spirit, are ye now made perfect by the flesh?

2 Corinthians 3:6-8
[SUP]6 [/SUP]Who also hath made us able ministers of the new testament; not of the letter, but of the spirit: for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life.
[SUP]7 [/SUP]But if the ministration of death, written and engraven in stones, was glorious, so that the children of Israel could not stedfastly behold the face of Moses for the glory of his countenance; which glory was to be done away:
[SUP]8 [/SUP]How shall not the ministration of the spirit be rather glorious?

Galatians 3:24-25
[SUP]24 [/SUP]Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith.
[SUP]25 [/SUP]But after that faith is come, we are no longer under a schoolmaster.

Matthew 11:28
Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

Galatians 3:10 For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse: for it is written, Cursed is every one that continueth not in all things which are written in the book of the law to do them.

Romans 8:1-2
1There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
[SUP]2 [/SUP]For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.

These would be contradictions if you tried to follow the Gospel and Moses at the same time.

Where have I mentioned salvation???

That is another excuse of the legalist and judaizer.

'But we don't do it to gain salvation...'

Then why do you do it? Why don't we focus more on what gains us salvation and less on what gives us "extra credit" or whatever reason you do the extra stuff.

I and all the family in Jesus Christ, Yeshua,

are saved from the guilt of our sin, justified, by the Blood of Jesus Christ, this is where you mentionSalvation.

Every time you mention being justified, you are making direct reference to Salvation for we need no other wayi to
being saved than justification for the guilt of our sin by the Blood of Jesus Chrsit.

Now, stop deflecting from issues by changing the meaning of what people post, that is of the enemy, not of truth.
