This thread is meant to have an serious and in depth discussion about Hebrews 4 and it meaning. I will post 2 versions of Hebrews 4 and then my views on it. My views will be lengthy as to be somewhat complete, but there is still more. All others are invited to give their views, post other versions and share!

Hebrews 4 Revised Standard Version (RSV)

4 Therefore, while the promise of entering his rest remains, let us fear lest any of you be judged to have failed to reach it. 2 For good news came to us just as to them; but the message which they heard did not benefit them, because it did not meet with faith in the hearers.[a] 3 For we who have believed enter that rest, as he has said,

“As I swore in my wrath,
‘They shall never enter my rest,’”

although his works were finished from the foundation of the world. 4 For he has somewhere spoken of the seventh day in this way, “And God rested on the seventh day from all his works.” 5 And again in this place he said,

“They shall never enter my rest.”

6 Since therefore it remains for some to enter it, and those who formerly received the good news failed to enter because of disobedience, 7 again he sets a certain day, “Today,” saying through David so long afterward, in the words already quoted,

“Today, when you hear his voice,
do not harden your hearts.”

8 For if Joshua had given them rest, God would not speak later of another day. 9 So then, there remains a sabbath rest for the people of God; 10 for whoever enters God’s rest also ceases from his labors as God did from his.

11 Let us therefore strive to enter that rest, that no one fall by the same sort of disobedience. 12 For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and spirit, of joints and marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart. 13 And before him no creature is hidden, but all are open and laid bare to the eyes of him with whom we have to do.

14 Since then we have a great high priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus, the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession. 15 For we have not a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who in every respect has been tempted as we are, yet without sin. 16 Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.

Hebrews 4:1-11, "Therefore, since a promise of entering His rest remains, let us fear so that none of you should come short of it. For this message was preached to us, as well as to them; but the word which they heard did not benefit them, because they did not share in the faith of those who obeyed-- However, we who have believed do enter that rest, as He has said: So I vowed in My wrath, They will not enter into My rest, although the works were finished from the foundation of the world, For He spoke in a certain place of the Seventh Day, in this way: And YHWH rested the Seventh Day from all His works. And in this place again: If they will enter into My rest. Since therefore it remains that some must enter it, and those to whom it was first preached did not enter because of disobedience, Again, He designates a certain day, saying in David: ''Today,'' after so long a time, as it has been said: Today, if you will hear His voice, do not harden your hearts. If Yahshua (ben Nun) had given them rest he would not have spoken afterward of another day. Therefore, there remains the keeping of the Sabbath (word G#4520) to the people of YHWH, For he who has entered into His rest (word G#2663) has also ceased from his own works, as YHWH did from His. Therefore, let us be zealous to enter into that rest (word G#2663), so that no one may fall after the same example of unbelief."

Contrast words 4520 from Hebrews 4:9 to all the other "NT" mentions of Sabbath:

Hebrews 4:9, "Therefore, there remains the keeping of the Sabbath (word G#4520) to the people of YHWH."

#G4521sabbaton, sabbaton: the Sabbath, i.e. the seventh day (of the week), Original Word: σάββατον, ου, τό, Part of Speech: Noun, Neuter, Transliteration: sabbaton, Phonetic Spelling: (sab'-bat-on), Short Definition: the Sabbath, a week, Definition: the Sabbath, a week., Word Origin - of Hebrew origin shabbath, Definition - the Sabbath, i.e. the seventh day (of the week), 68 Occurrences

keeping of the Sabbath” is word #4520 - sabbatismos: a sabbath rest, Original Word: σαββατισμός, οῦ, ὁ, Part of Speech: Noun, Masculine, Transliteration: sabbatismos, Phonetic Spelling: (sab-bat-is-mos'), Short Definition: a Sabbath rest, Definition: a keeping of the Sabbath, a Sabbath rest

Hebrews 4:12-16,12 For the Word of Elohim is living, and working, and sharper than any two-edged sword, cutting through even to the dividing of being and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart."13 And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all are naked and laid bare before the eyes of Him with whom is our account."14 Therefore, since we have a great High Priest who has passed through the heavens, יהושע the Son of Elohim, let us hold fast our confession."15 For we do not have a High Priest unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but One who was tried in all respects as we are, apart from sin."16 Therefore, let us come boldly to the throne of favour, in order to receive compassion, and find favour for timely help."

An oversimplified explanation of Hebrews 4 is that while the 7[SUP]th[/SUP] day Sabbath remains, it is pointing to the true rest that is the promise remains in the Messiah, that is entrance into the Kingdom of YHWH:

This shows that the 4[SUP]th[/SUP] Commandment is not “done away” in any manner:

Mat 5:18, “I say to you; Unless heaven and earth passes away, one yodh; the smallest of the letters will in no way pass from the Law, until all things are perfected."

Revelation 21:1, “I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away.”

This shows that the 4[SUP]th[/SUP] Commandment is not properly changed in any manner:

Daniyl 7:25, “And he will speak great words against YHWH, and will wear out; mentally attack to cause to fall away, the saints of YHWH, and think to change times and Laws…”

This shows Yahshua offers rest:

Mat 11:27-30, “All things have been delivered to Me by My Father. And no one fully knows the Son except the Father, neither does anyone fully know the Father, except the Son and those whom YHWH wills the Son to reveal. Come to Me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you, and learn of Me; for I am meek and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”

This shows it is not His Commands that are heavy:

1 John 5:2-3, “By this we know that we love the children of Yah, when we love Yah and guard His commands. For this is the love for Yah, that we guard His commands, and His commands are not heavy.”

This shows what the true rest Yahshua offers is Scriptually:

Revelation 14:13, “And I heard a voice from heaven saying to me: Write:Blessed are the dead, the ones dying in the Messiah from now on! Yes, says the Spirit: because they will rest from their labors, and their works do follow them!”

Hebrews 4:1, “Therefore, since a promise remains of entering into His rest, let us fear lest any of you seem to have come short of it.”

Hebrews chapter 4 talks about a “rest remaining for the people of Yah” We are going to review this and see the this “rest” is indeed in the Messiah, it is speaking of eternal life, however none have yet entered into this “rest” Yahshua offers. People say things like “I rest in Jesus” and “Jesus is the Sabbath now.” While this sounds wonderful, it is not Scriptually accurate. Let us search the Scriptures and prove what the “rest” Yahshua offers is. Since Hebrews chapter 3 leads into what is being explained in chapter 4 we can start there;

Hebrews 3:7-19, “Therefore, as the Set-apart Spirit says, “Today, if you hear His voice, do not harden your hearts as in the rebellion, in the day of trial in the wilderness, where your fathers tried Me, proved Me, and saw My works forty years. Therefore I was grieved with that generation, and said, ‘They always go astray in their heart, and they have not known My ways. As I swore in My wrath, ‘If they shall enter into My rest...’ Look out, brothers, lest there be in any of you a wicked heart of unbelief in falling away from the living Father, but encourage one another daily, while it is called “Today,” lest any of you be hardened by the deceivableness of sin. For we have become partakers of Messiah if we hold fast the beginning of our trust firm to the end, while it is said, “Today, if you hear His voice, do not harden your hearts as in the rebellion.” For who, having heard, rebelled? Was it not all who came out of Mitsrayim, led by Mosheh? Andwith whom was He grieved forty years? Was it not with those who sinned, whose corpses fell in the wilderness? And to whom did He swear that they would not enter into His rest, but to those who did not obey? So we see that they were unable to enter in because of unbelief.

How did they “harden their hearts” and “rebel” in the wilderness?

Exodus 16:25-28, “And Mosheh said, “Eat it today, for today is a Sabbath to יהוה, today you do not find it in the field. Gather it six days, but on the seventh day, which is the Sabbath, there is none.” And it came to be that some of the people went out on the seventh day to gather, but they found none. And יהוה said to Mosheh, “How long shall you refuse to guard My commands and My Torah?”

By not obeying YHWH, notice how “not obeying” is synonymous with “unbelief” Also note what Hebrews 3:18-19 says concerning “entering rest”, “And to whom did He swear that they would not enter into His rest, but to those who did not obey? So we see that they were unable to enter in because of unbelief.

Enter in what/where? “
His rest” Yet we know this is talking about them dying in the wilderness and never enter “the promised land/physical Israyl.”This is a metaphor using the promised land of physical Israyl comparing it to the Eternal Kingdom of Yah that is coming; thus;

2 Thessalonians 1:5-10, “Clear evidence of the righteous judgment of
יהוה, in order for you to be counted worthy of the reign of יהוה, for which you also suffer, since יהוה shall rightly repay with affliction those who afflict you, and to give you who are afflicted rest with us when the Master
יהושע is revealed from heaven with His mighty messengers....”

Psalms 95:8-11, “Do not harden your hearts as in Meriḇah, And as in the day of Massah in the wilderness, When your fathers tried Me, Have proved Me, though they saw My work. For forty years I was grieved with that generation, And said, ‘They are a people who go astray in their hearts, And they do not know My ways. As I swore in My wrath, ‘If they enter into My rest...”

Revelation 14:13, “And I heard a voice from heaven saying to me: Write:Blessed are the dead, the ones dying in the Messiah from now on! Yes, says the Spirit: because they will rest from their labors, and their works do follow them!”

If we look at the way the writer of Hebrews interprets the “trial in the wilderness” (Exodus 16:25-28,) in Hebrews 3:7-19 and coming up in Hebrews 4, interpreting Scripture with Scripture looking to Revelation 14:13, we can see it is a future rest, in Messiah, but not attainable while in a physical body.

Hebrews 4:1, “Therefore, since a promise remains of entering into His rest, let us fear lest any of you seem to have come short of it.”

If this was written AFTER Yahshua/Jesus came in the flesh as the suffering Lamb, and if we can enter into the rest He offers NOW why is it written “since a promise remains of entering into His rest, let us fear lest any of you seem to have come short of it” Why would a promise remain, the rest would be here already. A “promise” is not something already come or already received. A “promise” is something still future, still looking forward to, if the “rest” was now it would have been a “promise” fulfilled. No the promise remains because it is future:

Matthew 10:22, “And you will be hated by all for my name's sake. But the one who endures to the end will be saved.”

Matt 24:12-13, “And because of the increase in lawlessness, the love of many shall become cold. But he who shall have endured to the end shall be saved.”

Hebrews 3:14, “For we have become partakers of Messiah if we hold fast the beginning of our trust firm to the end.”

Hebrews 10:36, “For you have need of endurance, so that when you have done the will of Yah you may receive what is promised.”

2 Thessalonians 1:5-10, “Clear evidence of the righteous judgment of יהוה, in order for you to be counted worthy of the reign of יהוה, for which you also suffer, since יהוה shall rightly repay with affliction those who afflict you, and to give you who are afflicted rest with us when the Master יהושע is revealed from heaven with His mighty messengers....”

Revelation 14:13, "And I heard a voice from heaven saying to me: Write:
Blessed are the dead, the ones dying in the Messiah from now on! Yes, says the Spirit: because they will rest from their labors, and their works do follow them!"

Hebrews 4:2, "For indeed the Good News was brought to us as well as to them, but the word which they heard did not profit them, not having been mixed with belief in those who heard it."4:3, "For we who have believed do enter into that rest, as He has said, “As I swore in My wrath, if they shall enter into My rest...” And yet His works have come into being from the foundation of the world."

Hebrews “4:3, "For we who have believed do enter into that rest,...yet His works have come into being from the foundation of the world.”

Context right? “believed” Do you see how in this writers mind there is no difference between believing and obeying?

Hebrews 3:16-19, “For some, when they had heard, rebelled. But not all rebelled who came out of Egypt through Mosheh. But with whom was He angry forty years? Was it not with those who sinned, whose corpses fell in the wilderness? And to whom did He vow that they would not enter into His rest, but to those who did not obey? So we see that they could not enter in because of unbelief.”

Simply put those who believe also do.

Hebrews 4:2, “For this message was preached to us, as well as to them; but the word which they heard did not benefit them, because they did not share in the faith of those who obeyed.”

If the promised land/physical Israyl was used in chapter 3 as a metaphor, and the rest offered is eternal life as written here:

2 Thessalonians 1:5-10, “Clear evidence of the righteous judgment of יהוה, in order for you to be counted worthy of the reign of יהוה, for which you also suffer, since יהוה shall rightly repay with affliction those who afflict you, and to give you who are afflicted rest with us when the Master יהושע is revealed from heaven with His mighty messengers....”

Hebrews 4:3, “For we who have believed do enter into that rest..”

At first glance it seems this rest is entered now, however consider 2 things.

1. If the “rest” is the Eternal Kingdom what if I say “we who do enter the Kingdom” This phrase does not only mean we who enter it now or have already entered it, but rather “we who do enter” as in future. When this is looked at in context the very next thing written it seems even more plausible;

2. and “His works have come into being from the foundation of the worldis quoted from Psalm 95;

As I swore in My wrath, ‘If they enter into My rest...And yet His works have come into being from the foundation of the world.”

YHWH already knows who will enter His kingdom “from the foundation of the world.”

Isaiah 46:10, “Declaring the end from the beginning, and from of old that which has not yet been done, saying, ‘My counsel does stand, and all My delight I do.”

Ezekiyl 12:25, “For I am יהוה, I speak. And the word which I speak is done. It is no longer deferred. For in your days, O rebellious house, when I speak the word I shall do it,” declares the Master יהוה.”

And speaks of things that have not yet been fulfilled/happened yet as if they are already past;

This is satan being spoken of as if already destroyed “I brought forth fire from your midst. It has devoured you, and I turned you to ashes”;

Ezekiyl 28:13-19, “You were in Ĕḏen, the garden of the Most High. Every precious stone was your covering: the ruby, topaz, and diamond, beryl, shoham, and jasper, sapphire, turquoise, and emerald and gold. The workmanship of your settings and mountings was prepared for you on the day you were created. You were the anointed keruḇ that covered. And I placed you, you were on the set-apart mountain of Yah. You walked up and down in the midst of stones of fire. You were perfect in your ways from the day you were created, until unrighteousness was found in you. By the greatness of your trade you became filled with violence within, and you sinned. So I thrust you from the mountain of Yah, and I destroyed you, O covering keruḇ, from the midst of the stones of fire. Your heart was lifted up because of your loveliness, you corrupted your wisdom for the sake of your splendour. I threw you to the earth, I laid you before sovereigns, to look at you. You profaned your set-apart places by your many crookednesses, by the unrighteousness of your trading. Therefore I brought forth fire from your midst. It has devoured you, and I turned you to ashes upon the earth before the eyes of all who see you. All who knew you among the peoples were astonished at you. Waste you shall be, and cease to be, forever.”

There are more examples of this, however this one is clearly a future thing spoken as if it has already happened.

Hebrews 4:4, "For somewhere He has said thus about the seventh day, “And the Mighty One rested on the seventh day from all His works in this again, “If they shall enter into My rest...”

Here we see “the seventh day” is mentioned, lets review what the 7[SUP]th[/SUP] day is and represents;

Genesis 2:2-3, “And on the seventh day the Mighty One completed His work which He had done, and He rested on the seventh day from all His work which He had made. And the Mighty One blessed the seventh day and set it apart, because on it He rested from all His work which the Mighty One in creating had made.”

Exodus 17:7, “And he called the name of the place Massah and Meriḇah, because of the ‘strife’ of the children of Yisra’yl, and because they ‘tried’ יהוה, saying, “Is יהוה in our midst or not?”

“the seventh day,...the seventh day from all His works in this again,...“If they shall enter into My rest...”

The 7[SUP]th[/SUP] day? 7,000 years, the 7[SUP]th[/SUP] day or years 6,001-7,000 represents the “Sabbath millennium,” all of the Moadim (appointed times) of YHWH are prophetic pictures of works of the Messiah;

Fulfilled already- To be fulfilled in the future

1. Passover/First-fruits – Yahshua's Sacrifice(Passover), burial and resurrection (First Fruits – presenting Himself to YHWH)
2. Feast of Unleavened Bread – Removal of sin by Yahshua's perfect work as the Passover Sacrifice
3. Feast of Weeks – The blessing Holy Spirit of YHWH, coming into our lives stronger than ever

4. Feast of Trumpets – Yahshua's return and gathering of the Saints
5. Day of Atonement – Yahshua leads the army of YHWH to destroy evil rulers of this world and satan is chained for 1,000 years
6. Feast of Tabernacles – Yahshua dwells on earth for 1,000 years teaching truth and righteousness
7. The Last Great Day – satan is loosed and swiftly destroyed, the Kingdom of YHWH reigns forever

The 7[SUP]th[/SUP] day Sabbath represents “Sabbath millennium” or “the 7[SUP]th[/SUP] day”;

Psalm 90:4, “For a thousand years in Your eyes Are like yesterday that has past, Or like a watch in the night.”

2 Peter 3:8, “But, beloved ones, let not this one matter be hidden from you: that with יהוה one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.”

If you add up the genealogies in the Scripture, from Adam to Yahshua it is about 4,000 years. We know Yahshua came about 2,000 years ago. This shows we are around the year 6,000 nearing the “Sabbath millennium.” This would mean that the Messiah would come in the “4[SUP]th[/SUP] day” using the a day for 1,000 year principle in 2 Peter 3:8 and Psalm 90:4. If we look to the week of creation, the sun was created in the 4[SUP]th[/SUP] day;

Genesis 1:14-19, “And the Mighty One said, “Let lights come to be in the expanse of the heavens to separate the day from the night, and let them be for signs and appointed times, and for days and years, and let them be for lights in the expanse of the heavens to give light on the earth. And it came to be so. And the Mighty One made two great lights: the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night, and the stars. And the Mighty One set them in the expanse of the heavens to give light on the earth, and to rule over the day and over the night, and to separate the light from the darkness. And the Mighty One saw that it was good. And there came to be evening and there came to be morning, the fourth day.”

The prophet Malachi spoke of Messiah as the “Sun of Righteousness” that would “arise with healing in His wings;

Malachi 4:2, “But to you who fear My Name the Sun of Righteousness shall arise with healing in His wings. And you shall go out and leap for joy like calves from the stall.”

If we look at the fact the literal sun was created in the 4[SUP]th[/SUP] day in context of Malachi’s prophecy this was a foreshadowing of the coming Messiah, that would come around the year 4,000, that we see did “arise with healing in His wings.

Matthew 9:20-22, “And see, a woman who had a flow of blood for twelve years came from behind and touched the tzitzit of His garment. For she said to herself, “If I only touch His garment, I shall be healed.” But יהושע turned, and when He saw her He said, “Take courage, daughter, your belief has healed you.” And the woman was healed from that hour.”

Matthew 14:35-36, “And when the men of that place recognized Him, they sent out into all that surrounding country, and brought to Him all who were sick, and begged Him to let them only touch the tzitzit of His garment. And as many as touched it were completely healed.”

It has been around 2,000 years since Yahshua came, thus;

Hosheyah 6:1-3, “Come, and let us turn back to יהוה. For He has torn but He does heal us, He has stricken but He binds us up. After two days He shall revive us, on the third day He shall raise us up, so that we live before Him. So let us know, let us pursue to know יהוה. His going forth is as certain as the morning. And He comes to us like the rain, like the latter rain watering the earth.”

Again Yahshua came 2,000 years ago that is why Hosheyah 6:1-3 says, “...After two days He shall revive us...

Mat:29-31, “Immediately, but after the tribulation of those days will the sun be darkened, and the moon will not give her light, and the stars will fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken. And then will appear the sign of the Son of Man in heaven; and then will all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. And He will send His malakim with a great sound of a trumpet, and they will gather together His elect from the four winds, from one end of earth to the other.”

Revelation 20:4-6, "And I saw thrones – and they sat on them, and judgment was given to them – and the lives of those who had been beheaded because of the witness they bore to יהושע and because of the Word of the Mighty One, and who did not worship the beast, nor his image, and did not receive his mark upon their foreheads or upon their hands. And they lived and reigned with Messiah for a thousand years and the rest of the dead did not come to life until the thousand years were ended) – this is the first resurrection. Blessed and set-apart is the one having part in the first resurrection. The second death possesses no authority over these, but they shall be priests of YHWH and of Messiah, and shall reign with Him a thousand years."

So the first 4,000 years was Adam to Yahshua, 2,000 years later Yahshua returns and reigns for 1,000 years, at the end of the 1,000 years the eternal Kingdom of YHWH is established forever.

Hosheyah 6:1-3, “on the third day He shall raise us up

During ths 1,000 years satan is bound and peace, the teachings and the guidance of YHWH fills the land;

Isaiah 11:1-9, "And a Rod shall come forth from the stump of Yishai, and a Sprout from his roots shall be fruitful. The Spirit of יהוה shall rest upon Him – the Spirit of wisdom and understanding, the Spirit of counsel and might, the Spirit of knowledge and of the fear of יהוה, and shall make Him breathe in the fear of יהוה. And He shall not judge by the sight of His eyes, nor decide by the hearing of His ears. But with righteousness He shall judge the poor, and shall decide with straightness for the meek ones of the earth, and shall strike the earth with the rod of His mouth, and slay the wrong with the breath of His lips. And righteousness shall be the girdle of His loins, and trustworthiness the girdle of His waist. And a wolf shall dwell with the lamb, and a leopard lie down with the young goat, and the calf and the young lion and the fatling together, and a little child leads them. And cow and bear shall feed, their young ones lie down together, and a lion eat straw like an ox. And the nursing child shall play by the cobra’s hole, and the weaned child shall put his hand in the adder’s den. They do no evil nor destroy in all My set-apart mountain, for the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of יהוה as the waters cover the sea."

Habakkuk 2:13-14, “See, it is not from יהוה of hosts that peoples labour only for fire, and nations weary themselves for naught, for the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the esteem of יהוה, as the waters cover the sea!"

Isayah 66:21-24, “And from them too I shall take for priests – for Lĕwites,” declares יהוה. For as the new heavens and the new earth that I make stand before Me,” declares יהוה, “so your seed and your name shall stand. And it shall be that from New moon to New moon, and from Sabbath to Sabbath, all flesh shall come to worship before Me,” declares יהוה. And they shall go forth and look upon the corpses of the men who have transgressed against Me. For their worm shall not die, and their fire not be quenched. And they shall be repulsive to all flesh!”

Zecharyah 14:8-21, And in that day it shall be that living waters flow from Yerushalayim, half of them toward the eastern sea and half of them toward the western sea, in summer as well as in winter. 9, And יהוהshall be Sovereign over all the earth In that day there shall be one יהוה, and His Name one. 10, All the land shall be changed into a desert plain from Geḇa to Rimmon south of Yerushalayim, and she shall be raised up and inhabited in her place from Binyamin’s Gate to the place of the First Gate and the Corner Gate, and from the Tower of Ḥanan’ĕl to the winepresses of the sovereign. 11, And they shall dwell in her, and there shall be no more utter destruction, but Yerushalayim shall be safely inhabited. 12, And this is the plague with which יהוה plagues all the people who fought against Yerushalayim: their flesh shall decay while they stand on their feet, and their eyes decay in their sockets, and their tongues decay in their mouths. 13, And it shall be in that day that a great confusion from יהוה is among them, and everyone of them shall seize the hand of his neighbor, and his hand rise up against his neighbor's hand. 14, And Yehuḏah shall fight at Yerushalayim as well. And the wealth of all the nations round about shall be gathered together: gold, and silver, and garments in great quantities. 15, So also is the plague on the horse and the mule, on the camel and the donkey, and on all the cattle that are in those camps – as this plague.
16, And it shall be that all who are left from all the nations which came up against Yerushalayim, shall go up from year to year to bow themselves to the Sovereign, יהוה of hosts, and to celebrate the Festival of Sukkot. 17, And it shall be, that if anyone of the clans of the earth does not come up to Yerushalayim to bow himself to the Sovereign, יהוה of hosts, on them there is to be no rain. 18, And if the clan of Mitsrayim does not come up and enter in, then there is no rain. On them is the plague with which יהוה plagues the nations who do not come up to celebrate the Festival of Sukkot. 19, This is the punishment of Mitsrayim and the punishment of all the nations that do not come up to celebrate the Festival of Sukkot. 20, In that day “SET-APART TO יהוה" shall be engraved on the bells of the horses. And the pots in the House of יהוה shall be like the bowls before the sacrifice-place. 21, And every pot in Yerushalayim and Yehuḏah shall be set-apart to יהוה of hosts. And all those who sacrifice shall come and take them and cook in them. And there shall no longer be a merchant in the House of יהוה of hosts, in that day.”

Revelation 21:1-6, "And I saw a renewed heaven and a renewed earth, (Isa 65:17) for the former heaven and the former earth had passed away, and the sea is no more. (Isa 66:22) And I, Yoḥanan, saw the set-apart city, renewed Yerushalayim, coming down out of the heaven from יהוה, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a loud voice from the heaven saying, “See, the Booth of יהוה is with men, and He shall dwell with them, and they shall be His people, and יהוה Himself shall be with them and be their יהוה. And יהוה shall wipe away every tear from their eyes, and there shall be no more death, nor mourning, nor crying. And there shall be no more pain, for the former matters have passed away. And He who was sitting on the throne said, “See, I make all matters new.” And He said to me, “Write, for these words are true and trustworthy. And He said to me, “It is done! I am the ‘Aleph’ and the ‘Taw’, the Beginning and the End. To the one who thirsts I shall give of the fountain of the water of life without payment."

Adam to Yahshua is 4000 years + 2017 years since Yahshua, this puts us at 6017 years since the creation of Earth. Yet how are we not currently in the “Messianic Millennium” of what the 7[SUP]th[/SUP] day/Sabbath represents?

2Peter/Kepha 3:8, “But, beloved ones, let not this one matter be hidden from you: that with יהוה one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.”

After two days He shall revive us, on the third day He shall raise us up

Revelation 20:4-6, "And I saw thrones – and they sat on them, and judgment was given to them – and the lives of those who had been beheaded because of the witness they bore to יהושע and because of the Word of יהוה, and who did not worship the beast, nor his image, and did not receive his mark upon their foreheads or upon their hands. And they lived and reigned with Messiah for a thousand years and the rest of the dead did not come to life until the thousand years were ended) – this is the first resurrection. Blessed and set-apart is the one having part in the first resurrection. The second death possesses no authority over these, but they shall be priests of יהוה and of Messiah, and shall reign with Him a thousand years."

It has been “2 days” or 2,000 years since Messiah Yahshua came as a Lamb, Scripture says in “the third day He shall raise us up” So then why has Yahshua not already returned? The time/fullness of the Gentiles and the revealing of the man of sin has not yet been completed, thus things are being held back:

Romans 11:24-25, “For if you were cut out of the olive tree which is wild by nature, and were grafted contrary to nature into a good olive tree, how much more shall these who are the natural branches, be grafted into their own olive tree? For I do not wish you to be ignorant of this secret, brothers, lest you should be wise in your own estimation, that hardening in part has come over Yisra’yl, until the completeness of the Gentiles has come in.”

Genesis 48:17-20, “And when Yosĕph saw that his father laid his right hand on the head of Ephrayim, it was evil in his eyes; and he took hold of his father’s hand to remove it from the head of Ephrayim to the head of Menashsheh. And Yosĕph said to his father, “Not so, my father, for this one is the first-born, put your right hand on his head.”" But his father refused and said, “I know, my son, I know. He also becomes a people, and he also is great. And yet, his younger brother is greater than he, and his seed is to become the completeness of the nations.” And he blessed them on that day, saying, “In you Yisra’yl shall bless, saying, ‘The Mighty One make you as Ephrayim and as Menashsheh!” Thus he put Ephrayim before Menashsheh.”

Psalm 79:1, “79:1, "O Mighty One, the Gentiles have come into Your inheritance; They have defiled Your set-apart Temple; They turned Yerushalayim into ruins.”

Luke 21:23-27, “And woe to those who are pregnant and to those who are nursing children in those days! For there shall be great distress in the earth and wrath upon this people. And they shall fall by the edge of the sword, and be led away captive into all nations. And Yerushalayim shall be trampled underfoot by the Gentiles until the times of the Gentiles are filled. And there shall be signs in the sun, and moon, and stars, and on the earth anxiety of nations, in bewilderment at the roaring of the sea, and agitation, men fainting from fear and the expectation of what is coming on the earth, for the powers of the heavens shall be shaken. (Hag 2:6, Hag 2:21) “And then they shall see the Son of Aḏam coming in a cloud (Dan 7:13) with power and much esteem.”

If the 7[SUP]th[/SUP] day Sabbath really looks forward to the 1,000 years reign of the Messiah on earth, surely there would be some kind of clear Scriptural reference to this;

Revelation 14:12-13, “Here is the endurance of the set-apart ones, here are those guarding the Commands of יהוהand the Belief of יהושע. And I heard a voice out of the heaven saying to me, Write, Blessed are the dead who die in the Master from now on. Yes, says the Spirit, in order that they rest from their labors, and their works follow with them.”

Lets really look into the context of this passage in Revelation;

Revelation 14:8-20, “And another messenger followed, saying, “Baḇel is fallen, is fallen, (Isa 21:9) that great city, because she has made all nations drink of the wine of the wrath of her whoring.”(Jer 51:8) And a third messenger followed them, saying with a loud voice, “If anyone worships the beast and his image, and receives his mark upon his forehead or upon his hand, he also shall drink of the wine of the wrath of יהוה, which is poured out undiluted into the cup of His wrath. And he shall be tortured with fire and sulfur before the set-apart messengers and before the Lamb. And the smoke of their torture goes up forever and ever. And they have no rest day or night, those worshiping the beast and his image, also if anyone receives the mark of his name. Here is the endurance of the set-apart ones, here are those guarding the commands of יהוה and the belief of יהושע. And I heard a voice out of the heaven saying to me, “Write, ‘Blessed are the dead who die in the Master from now on.’ ” “Yes,” says the Spirit, “in order that they rest from their labors, and their works follow with them.” And I looked and saw a white cloud, and sitting on the cloud was One like the Son of Aḏam, Dan 7:13 having on His head a golden crown, and in His hand a sharp sickle. And another messenger came out of the Dwelling Place, crying with a loud voice to the One sitting on the cloud, “Send Your sickle and reap, because the hour has come for You to reap, because the harvest of the earth is ripe.” And the One sitting on the cloud thrust in His sickle on the earth, and the earth was reaped. And another messenger came out of the Dwelling Place which is in the heaven, and he too held a sharp sickle. And another messenger came out from the altar, having authority over the fire, and he cried with a loud cry to him having the sharp sickle, saying, “Send your sharp sickle and gather the clusters of the vine of the earth, because her grapes are ripe.”"19 And the messenger thrust his sickle into the earth and gathered the vine of the earth, and threw it into the great winepress of the wrath of יהוה. And the wine press was trodden outside the city, and blood came out of the wine press, up to the bridles of the horses, for about one thousand six hundred stadiad. (approx. 184 miles)”

Hebrews 4:5, "and in this again, “If they shall enter into My rest...”

Hebrews 4:6, “Since then it remains for some to enter into it, and those who formerly received the Good News did not enter in because of disobedience,"4:7, "He again defines a certain day, “Today,” saying through Dawiḏ so much later, as it has been said, “Today, if you hear His voice, do not harden your hearts.” 4:8, "For if Yehoshua (Joshua Ben Nun) had given them rest, He would not have spoken of another day after that.”

How did “Joshua speak of another day,” There is not a verse this is quoting in reference to Joshua “speaking of another day” It is a metaphor of Joshua’s actions (entering the “promised land” of those that enter the “eternal Kingdom” entering the true “promised land.” We can see Joshua did not fall in the wilderness but entered into “the promised land”

Numbers 14:28-30, “Say to them, ‘As I live,’ declares יהוה, ’as you have spoken in My hearing, so I do to you: The carcasses of you who have grumbled against Me are going to fall in this wilderness, all of you who were registered, according to your entire number, from twenty years old and above. None of you except Kalĕḇ son of Yephunneh, and Yehoshua son of Nun, shall enter the land which I swore I would make you dwell in.”

Josh 3:1, 8, "1 And Yehoshua rose early in the morning, and they set out from Shittim and came to the Yardĕn, he and all the children of Yisra’ĕl, and stayed there before they passed over. 8 “And you, command the priests who bear the ark of the covenant, saying, ‘When you come to the edge of the water of the Yardĕn, stand in the Yardĕn.”

Josh 4:1, “And it came to be, when the entire nation had completely passed over the Yardĕn,..”

The true entering of the promised land, “the rest” can not be obtained in the life. It is life in the eternal Kingdom… That is why Joshua Ben Nun spoke of another day… The image or picture that the writer of Hebrews is telling us by using Joshua entering the promised land as the example or metaphor; Hebrews 4:8, "For if Yehoshua (Joshua Ben Nun) had given them rest, He would not have spoken of another day after that.” Is believers entering the Eternal Kingdom of YHWH…

Revelation 14:13, “And I heard a voice from heaven saying to me: Write:Blessed are the dead, the ones dying in the Messiah from now on! Yes, says the Spirit: because they will rest from their labors, and their works do follow them!”

Hebrews 4:12, "For the Word of the Mighty One is living, and working, and sharper than any two-edged sword, cutting through even to the dividing of being and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart. And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all are naked and laid bare before the eyes of Him with whom is our account. Therefore, since we have a great High Priest who has passed through the heavens, יהושע the Son of the Mighty One, let us hold fast our confession. For we do not have a High Priest unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but One who was tried in all respects as we are, apart from sin. Therefore, let us come boldly to the throne of favor, in order to receive compassion, and find favor for timely help.”

Isaiah 56:1-7, “Thus said יהוה, “Guard right-ruling, and do righteousness, for near is My deliverance to come, and My righteousness to be revealed. Blessed is the man who does this, and the son of man who becomes strong in it, guarding the Sabbath lest he profane it, and guarding his hand from doing any evil. And let not the son of the gentile who has joined himself to יהוה speak, saying, ‘יהוה has certainly separated me from His people,’ nor let the eunuch say, ‘Look I am a dry tree.’ For thus said יהוה, “To the eunuchs who guard My Sabbaths, and have chosen what pleases Me, and are holding onto My covenant: to them I shall give in My house and within My walls a place and a name better than that of sons and daughters – I give them an everlasting name that is not cut off. Also the sons of the gentile who join themselves to יהוה, to serve Him, and to love the Name of יהוה, to be His servants, all who guard the Sabbath, and not profane it, and are holding onto My covenant, them I shall bring to My set-apart mountain, and let them rejoice in My house of prayer. Their ascending offerings and their sacrifices are accepted on My altar, for My house is called a house of prayer for all the peoples.”

Daniyl says an evil force will “think to change times and Laws and will wear out the saints of the most High...

Daniel 7:25, "And he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws: and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time."

Daniyl Chapter 2-7 is written in Aramaic, not Hebrew. The Israylites were taken captive to Babylon and made to forget their ways under the rule of the Bablonian king. “Zem-awn'” is an Aramaic word, and is the literal equivilent of the Hebrew word “moadim” - word #H4150 meaning: “appointed times”

"time" for , “a time and times and the dividing of time” Is a different root word from the first thus showing it conveys a different meaning.

Psalms 74:4, “Your adversaries have roared In the midst of Your appointments; They have set up their own signs as signs.”

Exactly why are “those dying is Messiah blessed” and going to “rest”

Revelation 14:13, “And I heard a voice from heaven saying to me: Write:Blessed are the dead, the ones dying in the Messiah from now on! Yes, says the Spirit: because they will rest from their labors, and their works do follow them!”

Mat 19:27-29, “Then Kĕpha answering, said to Him, “See, we have left all and followed You. What then shall we have? And יהושע said to them, “Truly I say to you, when the Son of Aḏam sits on the throne of His esteem, you who have followed Me in the rebirth, shall also sit on twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Yisra’yl. And everyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or wife or children or lands, for My Name’s sake, shall receive a hundredfold, and shall inherit everlasting life.”

Ezekiyl 48:35, "“All around: eighteen thousand cubits. And the name of the city from that day is: יהוה is there!” (In Hebrew: יהוה Shammah)

Revelation 21:3-4, "And I heard a great voice out of heaven, saying: Behold, the tabernacle of YHWH is with men, and He will dwell with them, and they will be His people, and YHWH Himself will be with them, and be their Father. And YHWH will wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there will be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, nor will there be any more pain, for the former things have passed away.”

Psalm 37:29, “The righteous shall inherit the earth, and dwell in it forever.”

You are not discussing Hebrews chapter 4 - all you are doing is cherry picking verses from all over to peddle a theological mess.

A serious discussion of Hebrews means one has to exegete Hebrews - not try to interpret it on the basis of your biases...

My point is well illustrated in your posts!

You cannot exegete - all you are capable of doing is playing this game of cherry-picking so-called "proof texts" from all over the Bible with no regard to context...

If I were so wrong you would be able to break it down and use Scripture to show what is right.

You do not supply even a single Scripture just claim Im wrong. It appears to me that you really do not care what the Word has to say...

Hebrews 4 has nothing to do with the weekly sabbath. The weekly sabbath isn't even mentioned in it. In verse 4 it mentions the seventh (the word day is not in the text), that refers to the number 7 which symbolizes rest. It then uses two examples from scripture to illustrate the rest spoken of in verse 3, one in verse 4 (7th day of creation when GOD rested) and another example in verse 5 (Psalm 95:11).

Why should I comment directly on the mess of texts that you provide...

You said that you wanted to have a serious and in depth discussion of the BOOK OF HEBREWS!
However, instead we have an occasional reference to a verse or two from Hebrews and then a wall of hopelessly out of context quotes from numerous other books of the Bible...

Do you understand what exegesis is?
You should try it sometime...

Well since it says "God reste on the seventh"

I think it is easy to see it is talking about the 7th day as it is literally quoting this:

Genesis 2:2-3, “And on the seventh day the Mighty One completed His work which He had done, and He rested on the seventh day from all His work which He had made. And the Mighty One blessed the seventh day and set it apart, because on it He rested from all His work which the Mighty One in creating had made.”

Hebrews 4:4

New International Version
For somewhere he has spoken about the seventh day in these words: "On the seventh day God rested from all his works."

New Living Translation
We know it is ready because of the place in the Scriptures where it mentions the seventh day: "On the seventh day God rested from all his work."

English Standard Version
For he has somewhere spoken of the seventh day in this way: “And God rested on the seventh day from all his works.”

Also Sabbath is directly spoken in Hebrews 4 here:

Hebrews 4:9, "Therefore, there remains the keeping of the Sabbath (word G#4520) to the people of YHWH."

“keeping of the Sabbath” is word #4520 - sabbatismos: a sabbath rest, Original Word: σαββατισμός, οῦ, ὁ, Part of Speech: Noun, Masculine, Transliteration: sabbatismos, Phonetic Spelling: (sab-bat-is-mos'), Short Definition: a Sabbath rest, Definition: a keeping of the Sabbath, a Sabbath rest

that word is from this word:

#G4521sabbaton, sabbaton: the Sabbath, i.e. the seventh day (of the week), Original Word: σάββατον, ου, τό, Part of Speech: Noun, Neuter, Transliteration: sabbaton, Phonetic Spelling: (sab'-bat-on), Short Definition: the Sabbath, a week, Definition: the Sabbath, a week., Word Origin - of Hebrew origin shabbath, Definition - the Sabbath, i.e. the seventh day (of the week), 68 Occurrences

from Hebrew root word:

H7676 שַׁבָּת shabbath (shab-bawth') n-e.
1. intermission, a period of temporary rest.
2. (specifically) the Sabbath, the seventh day being the day of rest.
[intensive from H7673]
KJV: (+ every) sabbath.
Root(s): H7673

SO yeah actually seventh day and Sabbath are both directly mentioned in Hebrews 4.

Now im up for a debate of what this means, that is why I started this thread, but I ask that Scripture is used rather than just "your wrong" or a vauge Scripture, but rather Scriptually showing what it means

God rested from his creation of the world,and he still take that rest every seven days. But his work continues as far as controlling mankind, and fighting against satan.

No?

I can't see how the verses you quoted in your OP have anything to do with Hebrews 4. There are 1189 chapters of the bible, why is this particular one of interest to you? I really don't think anyone can even possibly absorb the all the verses you threw out there, let alone somehow tie it to Hebrews 4.
