2Jn 1:5 And now I beseech thee, lady, not as though I wrote a new commandment unto thee, but that which we had from the beginning, that we love one another.
2Jn 1:6 And this is love, that we walk after his commandments. This is the commandment, That, as ye have heard from the
beginning, ye should walk in it.

Rev 12:17 And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.

Commandments is a word in plural.

There is moree on the subject throughout the Word, but these two quotees of John repeating the Word should suffice for all who claim to lov Jesus Christ to know we areto obey Him, learn of Him and strie to be like He..... That is all.

That would be the TWO commandments.

Remember that before JESUS died on the cross on our behalf, the way Into the most holy place was not yet so then we would have to be perfectly righteous to GOD and that would mean keeping every jot or tittle of the law with our own Individual strength and no one would have been acceptable to GOD who loves righteousness If they were trying to fulfill the TEN commandments.

so, is salvation dependent on this?

Do we obey BECAUSE we are saved,

or are we saved BECAUSE we obey?

The two great laws are the two concerning the love of the Father and of our brothers. However if you listen to Jesus Christ, and actually hear what He says on the subject you will find that all the laws hang on those two laws, and this means there are laws that make up love......He teaches us how the law is now since He has come not to destroy them but to fulfill them, again, as Jesus says adn teaches.

None of the above is something I have devised myself it is all from Jesus from Whom I learn always. After all learning from Him directly is fulfillment of th prophecy that we will be taught of God.l this is good, this is wonderful, amen.

Can someone answer, are we saved BECAUSE we obey, or Obey BECAUSE we are saved?

Maybe you did not get an answer, because the answer is obvious.

yes I think it is pretty obvious and yes that's why they will not answer.

Because they know I am right.

We obey BECAUSE we are saved, Those who love God keep his commands, Those who get eternal life are the ones who obey his commands

These are not prerequisite of salvation or eternal life. But they are descriptions of those who are saved.

Those who are born again and given Gods spirit leant to love as God loved, In doing this, by practice we will be obeying Gods commands But we do them by following the law of love, not the law of moses which was given to expose sin and lead us to christ only.

Love Your Enemies
43 “You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’
44 But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you,
45 that you may be sons of your Father in heaven; for He makes His sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust.
46 For if you love those who love you, what reward have you? Do not even the tax collectors do the same?
47 And if you greet your brethren only, what do you do more than others? Do not even the tax collectors do so?
48 Therefore you shall be perfect, just as your Father in heaven is perfect.

Perhaps the answer will not produce the desired result? This is simply another way to bring those freed in Christ back into bondage. For these the commandments are summed up in one. Keep the Sabbath. Restore ritualistic worship through Judaism. Incorporate Christ but do not let go of the old religion that could not save. Keep the old man while attempting to walk in newness of life.

Cast off the old dead man.

I think paul summed it up quite well.

Neither.

We are saved by grace (God's side of the covenant) through faith(our side of the covenant).

Living by faith is the only way to keep the New Covenant. Being faithful is accomplished by loving obedience.

You obviously don't understand that because many of your posts say that faith & faithful works are separate and they're not.

You have also agreed that this one-time confession of Christ is all it takes & you're forever saved. Utter nonsense.

The post does not stop at all. Read it again. They all hang on love, and they are all present in love. The OP is from the Word and does not leave out anything when it comes to loving and thanking our Savior.

Why stop at that?

I love Jesus Christ becaue He first loved me......I remember an recall at all times that moment when Iturned from this age and this world to all God is and does.....His Holy Spirit entered into me, and all was and is right because of Jesus Christ.

I have never shared other than this. Obdience is not a favor to our Father, it is our due. If those who are saved by grace want to twist this into being under the law, they will, and nothing will open their hearts to the truth of the teaching from Jesus Christ.

This is a shame, to call gratitude to ¨God being "under the law,2 and it is not correct.

:)I understand what you are saying but remember we love because GOD IN CHRIST equipped us to love.

It ouwld be deeply appreciated if those who act as though they have read and understood this post would read it and understand it prior to jumping in to make this an "under the law post."

All who do this have read tht I confess I ams aved only by the grace of God, many, manyu times, yet they wish to construe obedience in gratitude for the free salvation as being under the law, and this is very selfihs and sad.

There will always be posts on the subject present. After I have paricipated in one thread on the subject for a time, I bow out and wait or even start a new one. This assures the ring of anti-obedience folks are spread about, wearied, and exposed to the innocents for what they are, a law unto themselves and that law structure includes blatant teaching of disobedience.

This must occur continually so that those who love the Savior, Jesus Christ, are not carried away by a doctrine of disobdeince trampling on His Precious Blood, that grace and mercy all need in order to conduct oneself as a child of the Most High God.

Bless all who truly live in grace and express their love by obeying and learning from the Master, Jesus Christ.

Let's take a look at this, because this is exactly what self righteousness looks like.

We are saved by grace (God's side of the covenant) through faith(our side of the covenant).

This is what God's word says, to us, in the ministry of reconciliation;

8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God

The faith of Christ is the way of our salvation.

The bible says, seeing it is one God, which shall justify the circumcision BY faith, and the uncircumcision THROUGH faith... "through" His faith because we don't have a law or a system of worship for sin. And, this is why the faith of Christ and our understanding of what God wrought in Christ's resurrection for us and our salvation is so important when speaking of mystery truth and the "preaching of Jesus Christ according to the revelation of the mystery", which was kept secret since the world began.

"Who was delivered for our offences, and was raised again for our justification."

If you want to do the will of God, and be taught by Christ, it can only happen through the prescribed method of approach "rightly dividing the word of truth." Prior to the ministry of reconciliation, we were without Christ and without God in the world, having no hope.

Ephesians 2:12 [SUP]12[/SUP]That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world

If a peron who is saved by grace and knows it says faith without works is no faith at al, it is because it is true.

When we read teh parable of teh talents of gold given the various servants of the Master before He went away on a trip and we understand we know and see this plainely.

If we do not serve God, that is avail ourselves to His will for each of us, we are not servants at all.
