Hey all,

I seem to never be on the same page with other Christians when it comes to LGBT issues. I see it as a disgusting sin that brings judgment upon the nations that accept its practice.

I'm always get accused of being judgemental, they say hate the sin not the sinner. However, I want no part of it, I cannot stand to know anyone who is LGBT. When in contact with them and despite becoming purely disgusted and very uncomfortable, I do treat them with respect just like any other person.

They see it as it's just like other sins, agreed, sin is still sin. But, this sin is praised and accepted throughout nations, practiced in communities, and accepted in churches. Would you praise a drunkard? Fight for rapist rights? Fly a flag supporting pedophiles? everyone sins, but no one should glorify it and it is against God's word.

I wonder if God were to group together your sins and expose them to the world how you would feel. How would you expect to be treated? How would you want to be thought of? Your attitude reeks of religious stink. I won't say i've known a lot of people in this community, but i once worked a job where i not only worked with numerous, but they were also my boss. Did i care? Nope. Did i approve of what they did? Not at all.
But, really, what you are doing is judging the PERSON. In order to judge another you must first raise yourself above them.

This sin is praised and accepted throughout the nations? Aren't all sins? Some may be less commonly celebrated than others, but ultimately every sin is celebrated. And really the biggest sin supported, if i had to guess, would be sex in general. Do you rally against those horrible sinners as strongly as you do against LGBT sins? Why don't you rally against pedophiles and rapists and drunks the same way?

You're trying to be 'politically correct' in your expression, but the truth of what you really feel shows much more than you realize. You better hope your sins aren't publicized and that strangers aren't judging YOU for YOUR sins, the way you do others. You may not be happy with the results.
And i'd love to see verifiable evidence of all this judgment against nations for accepting this sin. Not just random claims from someone trying to support their position, but something clearly defined.

Sounds like you already are "sure" about where you stand on this subject, and you already have been given "decent advice" according to what you've shared, what are you hoping for here?
Would you like ask us to add more advice?
Would you like us to give scriptures regarding this subject?
Your question is rather "vague" concerning what you hope to "learn" from this thread if at all...

First, no one is beyond the reach of God's hand. Our job on this earth is not to judge, but rather to present the gospel. Now, I am not saying that the whole LBTG Movement is not based on sin. It is! But, these people who don't have Jesus are no different than any other sinners.

We need to pray for these people as individuals, to come to Christ. They need to see the depravity of their sin and lifetstyle. But surely, loving them, and giving them a positive alternative is a better way to go? Gays and lesbians are people who need Christ. If we are not part of the solution of sharing Jesus, and praying for them, then we are part of the problem.

I also thnk we need to stand up to institutionalized promotion of the gay lifestyle. I was watching a new show - Station 19. It is only 5 or 6 episodes into the season, and men are romantically kissing men. So, I will not be watching that show again And I am going to write a letter to the network detaining how replusive that "kiss" was to me. It may not help, but it is one thing I can do to stand up to this whole lifestyle. I won't have it shoved down my throat. On the other hand, I will love and pray for those caught up in this lifestyle, for God to save them, and deliver them.

They wear their sin openly. For the most part due to the lack of Faith that is all we are aware of; what we see. Any sin done openly is and should be offensive, for it stinks of death and is offensive to GOD For in HIM we both move and have our being and it is HE that works in us both to will and do HIS good pleasure.

You judged him. Does that mean that you raised yourself above him? Your post is worldly non-sense; political correctness.

I'm not putting myself above anyone or judging them, I'm simply asking why are Christians accepting that its apart of normal life. I will be the first to admit my shortcoming, only thing is I do not fly a flag and march for rights to do it. I am not perfect, that's why I need Christ like we all do.You want proof of judgment on nations? Look what happened to Sodom and Gomorrah, the main sin was homosexuality.

Showing love is not accepting the sin. It is our job to spread the Gospel to all Nations. Not everyone needs a fire and brimstone sermon to receive Christ. There is a thing called truth in love. This is why we need to be led by the Holy Spirit in our dealings with the world.

I have a friend who is bisexual. She knows that I don't agree with the lifestyle and neither do I beat her over the head with the bible. In fact we rarely speak on the "lifestyle" but we do talk about Jesus alot. :D I showed her godly love and friendship and gave them the word whenever they were going through something or just encouragement and prayed for her during my private prayer time. I wasn't pushy or condescending.

It didn't happen right away but she asked can she come to church with me. I'm so glad the person who helped me when I was in my mess (not LGBT but mess just the same) wasn't disgusted with me and wasn't so uncomfortable that they couldn't tell me about a risen Saviour who loves me inspite of myself.

We ended up doing ministry work together.
She was my friend for over 27 years up until she left to be with the Lord 2 years ago the week of my birthday.

Also look at Isreal they were captive in Babylon for 70 year’s for their sin and
they were Gods own people. The Israelites walked around the wilderness for
40 years for their sin.

God is holy He hates all sin, even your’s.

Angela above was right I couldn’t put it any better, it’s not your place
to pick a group of people and hate them. Maybe if anything you should direct
your hate towards Satan who is having his way too much in this world.
Pray against what is going on in the world, where unnatural things are promoted
and children are actively taught the opposite of what the bible teaches.

Hollywood is a massive promoter of sexual immorality and the LGBT movement
is encouraged. Praye against evil and promotors of evil, pray for people caught
up in this evil. Just in case you think I’m wrong read this.

Ephesians 6:11-12 NKJV
[11] Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against
the wiles of the devil. [12] For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood,
but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness
of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.

Also we should not be surprised about the things going on in the world today, the Bible tells us of these things.

Matthew 24, Luke 21
and also

2 Timothy 3:1-5 King James Version (KJV)

3 This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.
2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,
3 Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,
4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;
5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.

Romans 3:22-23 King James Version (KJV)

22 Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference:
23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;

there will always be "popular" sins that are ok with culture, LGBT and fornication are pretty much the tops, plus greed and pride, also gossip, then a myriad of others lol

but it is not our job to point them out, its the HS.

i'll give you a personal example. my father is gay, he came out when i was 8. now this is how the church reacted, the leader told my father he was hell bound for sin, told my mother she had to get an annulment to particapat in church, and that her children (me and sibs) were bastards. none the less this pushed all of us away from God, and me and my mom are the only ones who regularly attend a church.

now im going to speak to you personally, if you when in contact "becoming purely disgusted and very uncomfortable" you are seeing them for their sin. not through the eyes of Christ.

i'm gonna tell you this i know the depths of sin, and the suffering it is. when i see someone in it i am overcome with compassion. i tell them sin doesn't matter to be only the cross of Christ and the greatness of His love. if they don't know that, thats the only thing i am concerned about.

This is what happens when people try to play God. (See my signature).

being over-come with compassion is a wonderful thing,
but 'sin' always matters, it's our bound duty over-come-forsake our 'old-man',
the 'old' ways that God detests and to grow into the person 'after conversion',
that He longs for us to become, while in our fleshly walk upon this earth...
His Sacrifice/Cross is our strength/desire to do so on a daily basis...

sin will always matter, but it is Gods work, not ours. the only thing we do is have compassion on those who are fallen and lost. we have no part in there dealing with sin.

LGBTQ people are part of the test of whether we can love people without respect of persons.

Love... and succor... and when possible share the gospel in ways that don't cause disputes. And maybe someday they will see that God's plan is all about family... and making families in accordance with His plan.

But if we don't care for them or they don't know we care... they will never care listen.

I don't have a view on this as I don't even know what it is. My best guess that this topic would not be particularly uplifting or interesting.

You've hit the nail on the head. If someone discloses to you that they are sexually deviant, all you have to do is tell them that it is a sin in God's eyes, and they need to repent (turn from their sins and idols), and turn to Christ for forgiveness and salvation. All can be saved if all will repent.
