You don’t say what you are suffering from. Vivid dreams can easily be controlled by taking Trazadone at night. It is a tricyclic antidepressant that doesn’t work for depression, but it is a good sleep med. I‘ve had vivid dreams and nightmares since I was 3 years old. I remember them all. So, about 20 years ago, when I could not sleep because pain, and doctor put me on these, and I have been happy since.
Have you seen a doctor or psychiatrist? While God can and does heal mental illness, my experience working with the mentally ill, is that it is a slow process for most. I have many Christians in my bipolar group I run, but not one has been able to get off meds. They have tried, and gone psychotics, which is something no one wants to deal with!
So, they have learned a lot of techniques to control their disorder, regular sleep, exercise, eating well, therapy, meditation, and of course meds. They are very self aware, being older and having been through a lot.
A good psychiatrist can help you a lot, to become stable. The goal really is stability and finding joy in living. For me, the goal of my group, is helping them in their walk with Christ, for those who are saved, and friendship evangelism for those who are not saved. But that is my ministry.
I am here for you, if you want to talk. I’ve also been through severe depression, and with the help of God, I have been depression free for over 15 years. Mine was brought on by pain, but however it started, a treatment plan and diagnosis is the first step.
Send me a friend request, and a pm, and I can share some other things, and you can certainly tell me what you are going through.
