I didn't attend either my Junior of Senior prom. Partially I really wasn't that interested since crowds and I don't get along so well. Partially my self confidence was low enough that I was pretty sure no one would go with me anyway.

I didn't go to any of mine either. I don't think anyone would have said yes to me anyway.

Proms are about the stupidest thing ever, imho. Personally, I did not HAVE a prom, because homeschooled. However, I went to a prom-like function in my sophomore year of high school. Didn't care for it at all.

I would have felt so out of place. Never had (or have) been in a relationship before, so I had like zero experience or confidence to have a date. Additionally, I heard that it was just really weird dancing and such. Not my sort of thing.

I technically kinda crashed both my junior and senior proms, since I had dropped out of school halfway through junior year. I probably wouldn't have cared about going if I Hadn't dropped out....but at the time, I missed my friends and doing normal teenage stuff (moving away from home and getting married at 17 can cause that I guess). So, dresses were purchased or made, hair was fancified, uncomfortable shoes were acquired. I didn't have a date for junior prom (being married at the time) and my (now) husband took me to my senior prom. Both events were predictably lame, but I'm glad I did go. Gives me a bit of leverage to talk my own kids into going someday when it's their turn...or Out of going, whatever the case may be :oops:

You got married at 17? Wow. I haven't even been in one relationship yet and I'm 19.

I did not attend my high school Prom and was not interested anyway. I was looking forward to graduating from high school and actually graduated at mid term and joined the Navy.

"Did you / Will you Attend your high school Prom?"

Will I?
I guess I could.
I might seem a bit out of place.

Fenner is back? Fenner is back! Fenner is back!

To answer the question... i didnt. I thought it was so weird not wanting to go, but i didnt know how to dance. My sibs went, and i dont know anyone in class who didnt, but now i've seen quite a number here who didnt or chose not to, and see it is quite normal not to go=).

What surprises me is that some of you have mentioned that “no one would go with you”..... but how do you know that if you didn’t try?

I never cared for stuff like that. But what was cool about our school was that they allowed for people to go in groups if they didn’t want to go as a couple.

I did but it was an embarrassing experience 😂

My mother gave me 150 pesos (3 dollars) to rent shoes, gown and to do make up 😄

150 could not even rent a pair of shoes ...so I looked anyway...but my money was really not enough... I was so sad...but I understood that that's all my mother can give to me...i never insisted to ask for more.

But the day before my senior prom a neighbour my classmate lend me a white gown... but it was not a really a gown but that was the white dress in my classmate' s primary school graduation dress... eager to attend the prom I took it and spent just half of the money for my gown. I felt like I hit a jackpot I still have half of my money which I calculated already to be just enough to get a very very cheap white shoes :D and a bonus stockings some more:D

No make up,wearing my dress and my cheap shoes there I am :D I felt so small when I saw all my classmates wearing so nice gowns while me wearing a kid's dress I wanted to disappear that day 😂 but still attended the prom eventhough i was so embarrassed Everone will goin to notice me if I will run out from the campus so I stayed 😂

there was another thing ....the prom was held in an open field and it was a bit windy enough to blow my dress and exposed my ran out stockings and the coins I put to prevent my stockings to keep rolling down 😂 well it was a great dance anyway I danced with a tall handsome man 😄not so bad experience at all 😉😄

Yeah 😂 my story about prom 😂
150 pesos is my mother's budget for you in everything (take it or leave it) 😂
My grampa, when he would come to visit, would always give my sister and I each a quarter to go down to the corner for an ice cream cone. It was very exciting for us. :) One time he came and the price had gone to 35 cents. We were afraid to tell grampa we needed more money.

When mom saw us still there a while later, she asked why we weren't running for the corner like our hair was on fire for our ice cream. We told her he had only given us each a quarter.

I remember her saying: Daddy! Don't be so cheap! They need another twenty cents!
