I found an 18.5" barrel for my new 20 gauge on fleabay, and won the auction. It should be here on Friday. I might do a mild "trick up" on this one... maybe a combination laser/flashlight with a remote switch... that's about the only improvement I can think of that would be practical. Perhaps a sideplate for 5 or 6 extra shells... but I've never used one.... it seems like it would be in the way.

Ok... USPS tricked me and delivered my 20 gauge barrel today. I put it on the Maverick, and really like it. The gun is lighter, and seems to be better balanced. So now I have to take pics of two new guns, not just one. I'll try to do that and post some tomorrow evening....

I'm still waiting for the 38 S&W dies, they must have thrown all their efforts into getting your barrel to you, you obviously have more clout than I! Ha!
We had our annual Outdoor Adventure at a local lake, over 290 people signed up, trap, 22, BB/pellet gun, canoeing, fishing, atlatl, bow, slacklining, butterfly restoration, on and on, very hot but the kids hung in there real well. We really look forward to this each summer.
It's always a real blessing, every year.

Well hornetguy, it sounds like you're taking that 20 ga. full tactical. Especially after the laser/flashlight and the side shell holder.

Well, it hasn't happened yet... I'm still in the "deciding" phase... lol

I'm still thinking of getting a rifled barrel for the "saboted slug" option....

probably the most accurate slug would be the 20 gauge, and now that we have sabot's they really shine for accuracy and distance.

yes, the 12,10 and 8 gauge slugs will have a lot of energy.
When we are looking down the sights at deer or other game we don't feel the kick as much, when sighting in it is noticeable.
Funny how people and focus works.

we have a tiny lady in our tiny post office, she is so very caring.
We are very thankful for the USPS and I prefer them to the package carriers who have entered the more profitable package delivery business that was once able to support the 1st class mail and rural delivery more effectively. That is the hurdle the USPS has to deal with.

Calibob- that seems more of a company problem than a USPS problem, I get parts in the mail frequently.
We don't see, ups, fedx, dhl and the like going into the 1st class mail business and rural delivery.

this was 1975 when the words mail order and guns were like fertilizer and Arabs. I don't know if there was Fed Ex or DHL.

If we fail to show gratitude for what goes well, we can set ourselves up for having things go poorly to guide us back to being grateful.
I am grateful for USPS, in fact i've never known a ups or fedx person to be a spiritual Christian.

Not to say there aren't of course, I just have not known any, I HAVE known several USPS folks who were on fire and obedient in their faith. The UPS people I have known are far from it.

I was at Bass Pro Shops the other day checking out the Sig Saur P-365 9mm. Nice handgun! It’s priced at $529. Will keep an eye out for a sale price. (y)
