The truth is we are saved by faith alone, and not by works, when we confess Christ, for that is all we can do, but after we receive the Spirit then we have to abstain from sin to be right with God, and do the works of God to have faith active in our life.
And we know many that confess Christ lack, and many hold unto sin and think they are right with God.
Php 2:12 Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.
Some people try to drag faith alone, and not saved by works, throughout their walk with God, when Paul is saying that is how we are initially saved, but after we receive the Spirit then the responsibility falls on us to do what is right, for the Spirit will not twist our arm to what is right.
They have to understand when Paul is speaking according to the flesh, which none of those works will save us, and when he is speaking according to the Spirit which a Spirit led life will not sin, and a person is justified by works and not faith alone.
2Ti 2:19 Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.
What seals the saints is that they abstain from sin by the Spirit, which if they hate sin, and do not want sin, they can abstain from sin by the Spirit.
2Ti 3:4 lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;
2Ti 3:5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.
2Ti 3:6 For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts,
2Ti 3:7 Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.
But many do not want to abstain from sin, but hold unto sin and think they are right with God, and make excuses that they cannot abstain from sin, and sin daily, and sin does not affect their relationship with God.
1Co 13:13 And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity.
Charity, love in action, is greater than faith, and it is not faith alone, but it is love alone, and everything stems from love.
1Co 13:2 And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing.
Paul said he can have all faith as to remove mountains, but without charity he is nothing.
Faith works by love, and without love there is no faith.
Paul said without charity he is nothing, and James said without charity their faith is dead, and John said without charity the love of God does not dwell in them.
Love is greater than faith, and without love their faith does not mean anything.
Eph 2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God.
We are saved by grace through faith, so if we do not have faith then we do not have grace.
Which means if we do not have love, we do not have faith, we do not have grace.
1Co 13:4 Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up,
1Co 13:5 Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil;
1Co 13:6 Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth;
1Co 13:7 Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.
Love is not arrogant, does not belittle, does not put down, does not think they are better than other people, which the Bible says if a person thinks they are something when they are nothing, they deceive themselves, and what makes you to differ from another person.
Love is not selfish, but only goes by their needs, and not their wants, and helps the poor and needy if possible, which we see this a lot that they go by their wants.
Love does not think an evil thought, and does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth, which is to hate sin, and abstain from sin by the Spirit.
And again what seals the saints is they depart from iniquity, but many hold unto sin making excuses, and thinking they are right with God.
This is the definition of love, and to not abide by the definition of love Paul gives the saints means to lack love, then faith lacks, and then grace lacks, and love is the fulfilling of the law.
And we are to love everyone, and if we lack loving one person, then faith does not apply in our life, and if we hold unto sin faith does not apply in our life, and if we neglect the poor and needy, and go by our wants faith does not apply in our life.
And we see the lack of love, and holding unto sin among many people.
And I do not want to hear we grow in Christ as if it is an excuse to sin, for it does not take 20 years to understand what is wrong to do, for as soon as a person confesses Christ, and repents of their sins, they should know what is wrong to do.
And the Bible says creation testifies of a God that created all things, and of His attributes, which one of them is love, for He provided food, and the means to make clothing, and shelter, so the world is without excuse, and the people that did not hear the word of God by nature know what is wrong to do.
So why would a saint think it takes them years to understand what is wrong wanting an excuse like they are learning not to do wrong.
We know what is wrong to do when we confess Christ, and we grow in Christ means that it is our effort to stop sinning which we knew all along what was wrong when we first confessed Christ.
Many people make excuses for their sins, and anybody that says they cannot abstain from sin, when the Bible says they can abstain from sin by the Spirit, and sin does not affect their relationship with God, when what seals the saints is departing from iniquity, there is something wrong.
But many hold unto sin, and do them on purpose enjoying the sin, and then want an excuse for that sin, when even the world can abstain from sin if they want as they choose what sins they like and do not like, and they are of the flesh so they enjoy sin.
And the hypocrites enjoy the sin and then want an excuse, but love does not think an evil thought, and abstains from sin by the Spirit.
So if they lack love then faith does not apply in their life, then grace does not apply in their life.
