Many of God's children, such as yourself, are using other versions of the bible that have been changed to indicate that man has to allow God to eternally save them , the King James version for Eph 2:3 reads, "and we were by nature (1 Cor 2:14 ) the children", not, as your version states, "we were by nature DESERVING of wrath" Even though we are now born of the Spirit, we are by our fleshly nature still deserving of wrath. You ask the question "where in this portion of scripture does it say anything about God giving his Spirit to anyone who is dead in sin". The King James in Eph 2:5, says, Even when we were dead in sins, hath he quickened ( made alive ), us together with Christ, by grace ye are saved. Being dead spiritually ( being dead spiritually means that you can not respond, discern, to anything of a spiritual nature ( 1 Cor 2:14 ) and brought to spiritual life, is being born again, of the Spirit. Eph 3:15 the word "believeth" is present tense, not will believe. The King James does not say in verse 5, MAY have eternal life, but, should not perish, but HAVE eternal life, not may have. There is a difference, don't you think? The natural man, void of the Holy Spirit may look at the creation that God has created, and think that it is beautiful, but he will not connect it to anything that is spiritual such as God who is a Spirit. according to 1 Cor 2:14.
You are writing your version of the bible, the ForestGreenCook version. Your version is confused and lacks order. Since you are the only one buying that version I doubt it will be successful.

Receive what God has written and turn from your sin to Christ who alone can save you. Be as earnest as the Philippian jailer.

Ac 16:30 And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved?

All scriptures must harmonize. You will never be able to make them harmonize until you understand the difference between eternal deliverance and deliverance here on earth. Yes, we have many works to do here on earth, but none of them will get us to heaven.

I have never asserted that works were necessary to redeem my soul. I know full well the difference between eternal salvation and temporal deliverance here on earth. Unsaved people always call out for deliverance from death so they might have another moment to live. Sinners faced by Gods righteousness, Gods judgment on sin and eternal condemnation call out for eternal salvation that can only be received through the blood of Christ on Calvary. Sinners plead with God for mercy that they might receive redemption. Sinners call for deliverance that they might escape judgment.

Consider the malefactors crucified with Christ. One pled for mercy the other pled for deliverance from physical death. One received mercy the other condemnation.

You still do not have it. The unregenerate will never call out to a Spiritual God for salvation because they cannot discern spiritual things. They do not want to be in any different state than they already are in.

If you want all the scriptures to fit together and complement each other, you need to release your death grip on 1 Cor 2:14. As stated before, Calvinists grossly overstate the fallen nature of man.

You still do not have it. Unless you call out to Jesus to save you there is no hope. John said that Jesus is the Light come into the world that lighteth every man. Every man has sufficient light to respond to the gospel. The natural man cannot understand a lot of bible doctrines but natural man can understand the gospel and see his need to be saved.

God is not capricious that He would not give every man the opportunity to receive His truth.

Now own up to your personal need to be saved. Stop hiding behind corporate election and confess your need directly to Christ. God deals with individuals in the matter of salvation. God is never too busy to listen to a sinner ask for salvation and confess their sinfulness to Him. God always has time to minister to one single soul.

I appreciate that you are concerned enough for me to try to save my soul because you think that I am eternally lost, Does the gospel speak of spiritual things? If it speaks of spiritual things, the natural man, void of the Spirit, will think that it is foolish, and will never be able to discern it, You might go back and read 1 Cor 2:14 and try to understand what you are reading, that the natural man CANNOT respond to a spiritual gospel.

Shall I conclude from that you are a natural man? You seem unable or perhaps unwilling to address the scripture in its true context.

You seem to view salvation as an election concept and not Gods mercy and grace.

Every man must take personal responsibility for his sin. Man has sufficient light to see himself as sinful and unable to save himself. God is not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance. For this reason God has concluded them all in unbelief that God might have mercy upon all. Romans 11:32

God does not expect us to do what we cannot do nor will God do for us that which we are able to do. The old story of praying for taters while sweat rolls down the hoe handle. Don't pray for taters if you won't work the garden to grow them. God provides all the necessary sunlight, soil and rain all we must do is trust Him to give the increase.

I would not be on this forum attempting to uphold the truth of the doctrine of Christ, if I were but a natural man, now would I? Now if you are still confused as to the state and ability of the natural man, I could understand you thinking I might still be a natural man, void of the Holy Spirit. It would be helpful to me if you would explain to me, word for word 1 Cor 2:14. I know that you have avoided doing that and instead given me other scriptures that refute that, but they do not.

You keep saying that, but I have yet seen anywhere in your posts where you have explained, word for word the meaning of that scripture, instead you keep throwing other scriptures at me that you think refute it, but I have explained word for word that they do not refute 1 Cor 2:14. How about giving me the same privilege and explaining the meaning of 1 Cor 2:14?

There are many here who profess to be Spiritual people but are not. Pretending is the favorite pastime of men in religious matters.

1 Cor 2:14 But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.

First determine what are the things of the Spirit of God.

1 Cor 2:15 But he that is spiritual judgeth all things, yet he himself is judged of no man.
16 For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ.

1 Cor 3:1 ¶ And I, brethren, could not speak unto you as unto spiritual, but as unto carnal, even as unto babes in Christ.
2 I have fed you with milk, and not with meat: for hitherto ye were not able to bear it, neither yet now are ye able.
3 For ye are yet carnal: for whereas there is among you envying, and strife, and divisions, are ye not carnal, and walk as men?

Paul is speaking to the Corinthian believers as carnal Christians saying they could not receive the meatier things of the Holy Spirit. They could only absorb the basic elementary things of the Holy Spirit. Milk not meat.

Your blanket contention that unsaved men cannot receive anything Spiritual is brought into question when we understand the broader context that Paul is dealing with.

Back up a little further in your bible to Romans chapter 1. Even the natural creation around men testifies of the power and deity of God. Men would need to understand at least the very basic characteristics of God just from nature.

Roamns 1:18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness;
19 ¶ Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them.
20 For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:

Every man even you must decide to receive Christ because God demands it of you.

Ro 11:32 For God hath concluded them all in unbelief, that he might have mercy upon all.

There is hope for all men given them by God. Some choose to refuse it.

John 3:17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.

! Cor 2:15-16 has reference to those that have the Spirit already. 1 1 Cor 3:1-3 Paul is speaking to those who already have the Spirit dwelling in them, even calling them brethren, but are still babes in Christ and can not understand the meat for a lack of knowledge, just as those born again people in Romans 10 who had a zeal of God, but were lacking knowledge. Romans 1:18-21, Paul is writing to the church at Rome, in verse 6, Among whom are ye also the called of Jesus Christ. John 3:17 according to Thayer's Greek definition of the word WORLD, means "used of believers only". The natural man as described in 1 Cor 2:14 is not seen in any of the scriptures you have quoted. Another failed attempt to explain 1 Cor 2:14. Until he is born of the Spirit he cannot discern spiritual things. Why can you not accept what the clear language says?

Roger, I believe that we will both come out ahead because we will both live in heaven with him, you see, I have a view through a much broader window of those that will inter heaven that you do, You limit God's power ( Dan 4:16 ).

The broad way is not the way of life. The narrow way is the way to Christ and eternal life. There is a way that seemeth right to a man but the end thereof is death.

Pr 16:25 There is a way that seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.

You do know that could fit you as well as me don't you? We both base our belief on how we see it. I believe I have seen evidence of being born again in a vast amount of people than not. I makes me sad to think other people can see that evidence to and think that they are not going to heaven unless they take the steps you promote. The strait gate and narrow way leads to life ( a good life here on earth), the same life he says to choose over death (losing your fellowship with God)

Your understanding is slightly askew again. The broad path leads to death as in separation from God for eternity.

if anyone teach another gospel.....

I think that is pretty narrow. Anyone who thinks the window is broad should be worried. Because they are saying there is more than one way to heaven, when scripture flatly denies this

Those who do not want to come the way God said they must come will always fight to present another which is not another but just a continuation in the path of death.

The righteous will not stumble. They will walk in the light as Christ is in the Light.

There is only one way to heaven, and it is not by the actions of man. It is all of those that God gave to his Son to die for their sins, and all that he died for will live in heaven with him, without the lose of even one. ( John 6 ). Those that will inter heaven are counted as the sand of the seashore and the stars in the heavens, enumerable. Gen 32:12, I surely do thee good, and make thy seed as the sand of the sea, which cannot be numbered for multitude. Rom 9:7, Neither, because they are the seed of Abraham, are they all children, but in Isaac shall thy seed be called, and continue through verse 11. In Matt 5, talking about the wide gate and the strait gate. Many ( God's children who have a lack of knowledge of Jesus's doctrine, and are believing and preaching a false doctrine ) go in thereat, which leads to destruction ( result of preaching a false doctrine ). The strait gate and narrow way are those children of God who have been revealed the truth of Jesus's doctrine. This way leads to a more satisfying and contented life as they live here on earth. Those that go into the strait gate do not have to worry that their children are eternally lost if they are not going to church, not obeying some of God's commandments, such as is the destruction of those that are believing a false doctrine.
