I was at Bass Pro Shops the other day checking out the Sig Saur P-365 9mm. Nice handgun! It’s priced at $529. Will keep an eye out for a sale price. (y)

Look around at some of your smaller local dealers, sometimes they'll have cheaper prices than the big box stores. I know it kind of goes against logic since the big box store has better buying power but often the small dealer has considerably lower overhead.

True. I do like Academy Sports. That’s where I got the best deal on my Smith and Wesson M&P Shield 9mm last year.

That is a nice pistol... I wanted to get one, but finally decided against it because of the lack of an external safety. I heard rumors that Sig might offer a version with a safety before long.... if they do, I'll probably have to have one.

I prefer having a safety. Hopefully they will offer a version with a safety by the next Black Friday in November. That may be too soon.

This was the biggest purchase weekend I've ever had... I got three of the firearms I've been wanting to get for a while.... all the stars aligned, and my wife was in a generous mood.... of course, she got to go shopping at the jewelry store across the street....:sneaky:

My other two prizes..... a KelTec PM30, .22 magnum, 30 round very lightweight pistol, and the big brother to my DPMS AR15... a DPMS AR10.... I think they actually call it a LM10, or something like that... but it's a 7.62 x 51 Nato (.308)...... I've wanted an AR10 for a bunch of years... The sights are some cheap flip up sights I bought a couple of years ago at a gun show.... not very good quality. I'm sure I'll scope it....

I have noticed when my faith walk became what He would have it be, He provided outstanding deals on things and special encounters with persons selling just what I had a desire of.
This was so much so that several friends who had been turned off of their faith remarked, "How is you always find great deals?"
I am a big believer in taking my requests to the Father and awaiting His guidance, He is never late.
What He does for one, He will do for another

Beautiful photos of great firearms, a lot of quality there.
Thank you

Not sure how you will take this, it seems to me I have been blessed in this area especially, I have friends who don't walk as spiritual Christians, only knowing Him as Savior, when I have attended gunshows or perhaps bumped into private deals, they have gone "why don't I find deals like that?". About all I can say is G-d is very good to me.
Even hunting, I will be in the place where the biggest Buck will show up.
Is this perhaps a witness of His goodness to us that never ends?
I know I practice a constant communication with Him to where my life itself becomes prayer.
We are to let our requests be known to the Father, let Him know you would like this item and be open to hearing from Him and for His guidance.
He desires to bless us beyond our wildest dreams.

It's been a long time since I posted on this thread... I think .... maybe not .... posted how my autistic son wanted to shoot...

Recap.... I thought he would not be allowed to shoot (at shooting range)... found out that that would be discrimination. .... took him ... he shot a 22.... couldn't believe how great he was from the start.... center mass every time.... Not good with head shots... told him to aim for the head only got 6 out of 10 rounds... He tried a 9 ml yesterday.... It was too hard for him to load.... did not like the kick back... said wants to try a revolver next time....

What would be your suggestion for him to try?

If you have one, or can rent one, let him try a 38 revolver, or a 32, or a 380 auto.

I agree with EarnestQ.... if you can rent/borrow a full size 38 special, using target loads, he will get the fun of a bigger "bang" than a .22, but very little recoil. And accuracy is usually excellent. I would strongly advise against a snubnose 38, though.... the recoil from those is a bit brisk for a beginner... and they are more difficult to shoot accurately.

But, a good quality .22 revolver would be very good, as well.

It's great that the range lets him shoot. Shooting could very well be his "niche"....

Yes... no more "pop-guns" for this guy.....

I actually got to shoot the AR10 and the MVP on Sunday afternoon. I'm impressed. The AR just had the cheesy flip-up sights, but I still managed to group about 3 inches at 50 yards. I didn't even try to adjust them... they had me shooting about 8-9" high, so I was "aiming" at the bottom edge of the target, just guessing where the center was... and still got pretty good groups. My scope ought to arrive Saturday, which should improve the groups dramatically.
The MVP grouped nicely, with my only group at 100 yards (after sighting in at 50) having 4 shots in less than an inch, with the 5th about an inch to the right. That scope is a Leupold 1.5-4X, with the "pig plex reticle"... which is a circle. So, to shoot a group like that with only a 4X scope and a "less than precision" crosshair....? I'm pleased.

I've got pics of the targets...

Thanks.... I enjoy punching holes in paper. I really like that Herter's 308 ammo... the bullet is unlike any other rifle bullet I've seen.. it is almost full diameter about half way up to the tip, then it sharply tapers in a little bit, forming a shoulder, then tapers up to the tip. Sort of like a pointed semi-wadcutter handgun bullet. For those of you who shoot holes in paper with rifles, you know how the holes are usually sort of ragged looking. These bullets punch really clean holes. I was pleasantly surprised.

I wasn't quite as pleased with the new pistols, but that's a story for another day.
