Hey! OstrichSmiling... PTL!
Jesus gave the church authority over all the power of the enemy, when we were translated into the kingdom of light as you mentioned. Working with us is the Holy Spirit, who reproves the world: of sin, of righteousness, and of judgment. The prince of this world is judged, and the Holy Spirit reproves the evil ones through us, his temples, according to our faith. Evil spirits work to kill, steal, and destroy through lies and deception. They hate us all, lost or saved and posses an overcoming jealousy of us. "But the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds. Casting down imaginations and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God and bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ."
Oops, here we are talking about the cravings from sin or the evil ones' strongholds in our minds. For the mind set upon the flesh is death, but the mind set upon the Spirit is life and peace. Jesus said, "the words I speak unto you, they are Spirit and they are life." So we war against the evil spirits on two fronts: in our minds over past sins where we should be working to control what we think about and the other front is the world of the lost around us, where the demons fight to keep what they've got. Pray for those in need and ask the Lord to send his angels to keep them safe from harm and any evil spirits that are working against them. They have a major weakness to the question, "has Jesus Christ come in the flesh?"
1 Jn 4:1,2 " Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God because many false prophets are gone out into the world. Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is of God. And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that is should come; and even now already is it in the world. Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you than he that is in the world."
Maranatha!
