So what actual documentation do you have which proves that the seventh day cycle has been interrupted?

-Astronomy observance

"The human race never lost the septenary [seven day] sequence of week days and
that the Sabbath of these latter times comes down to us from Adam, though the ages,
without a single lapse."—Dr. Totten, professor of astronomy at Yale University.

"Seven has been the ancient and honored number among the nations of the earth.
They have measured their time by weeks from the beginning. The origin of this was
the Sabbath of God, as Moses has given the reasons for it in his writings."
—Dr. Lyman Coleman.

"By calculating the eclipses, it can be proven that no time has been lost and the
creation days were seven, divided into 24 hours each."—Dr. Hinkley,
The Watchman, July 1926 [Hinkley was a well-known astronomer].

"There has been no change in our calendar in past centuries that has affected in
any way the cycle of the week."—James Robertson, Director American Ephemeris,
Navy Department, U.S. Naval Observatory, Washington, D.C., March 12, 1932.

"It can be said with assurance that not a day has been lost since Creation, and all
the calendar changes notwithstanding, there has been no break in the weekly cycle."
—Dr. Frank Jeffries, Fellow of the Royal Astronomical Society and Research
Director of the Royal Observatory, Greenwich, England.

There is no question about which day the seventh day of the week is.

The weekly cycle? The break between the shift from the Julian
to the Gregorian calendar? There was a well known break of 10 days.

In 1582, that Thursday the 4th was followed by Friday the 15th.

The weekly cycle was not interrupted. Now take a look at 1752, Wednesday
the 2nd was followed by Thursday the 14th. Again, the calendar had to be
adjusted to correct it to the seasons but the weekly cycle remained unchanged.
you missed the question.

the question I have is whether sabbath is like all the other appointed days in scripture - determined by the the moon?

is saturday a convention the sanhedrin adopted when the Julian calendar was adopted?

some say it is. some say you're supposed to start 7 day cycles with the new moon, the same way you determine when all the feast days are.

I don't know, I'm asking.

sorry that you wasted your time collecting completely irrelevant quotes from various apparently important people. thanks tho

the doctrines and man made traditions of today Mainstream
is 'saturday' a man-made, mainstream replacement for the cycle of 7s following the appearance of the God-created new moon?

His feast days are determined by rosh chodesh, and they are all sabbaths. have y'all possibly been keeping a human-origin calendar all this time that you've been proudly denouncing others?

that'd be ironic.
from studying the scriptures, God seems fond of irony.

*shrug* just a question. something I read somewhere a couple years ago and never really got a convincing answer either way about.

it was a command for the nation of Israel only. it was never commanded for gentiles. we are to take a day of rest, as God the father instituted in the Creation, but non-jews were never under the Sabbath command.
Yeah. It was givin to Israel first

EPHES. 2 [11] Wherefore remember, that ye being IN TIME PAST GENTILES in the flesh, who are called Uncircumcision by that which is called the Circumcision in the flesh made by hands; [12] That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and STRANGERS FROM THE COVENANTS OF PROMISE, having no hope, and without God in the world: [13] BUT NOW IN CHRIST JESUS ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ. [14] For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us;

We {gentiles}were once STRANGERS from Gods covenants of promise, having no hope. BUT NOW in Christ, should we take hold of those covenants, we have hope

ISAIAH 56 [6] Also the sons of THE STRANGER, that join themselves to the Lord, to serve him, and to love the name of the Lord, to be his servants, every one THAT KEEPETH THE SABBATH from polluting it, and TAKETH HOLD OF MY COVENANT; [7] EVEN THEM WILL I BRING TO MY HOLY MOUNTAIN, and make them joyful in my house of prayer: their burnt offerings and their sacrifices shall be accepted upon mine altar; for mine house shall be called an house of prayer for ALL PEOPLE.

Even them (us gentile STRANGERS mentioned in Ephes.2) will He bring to His holy mountain, if we should take hold of His sabbath covenant. Jesus will bring us to the 1000yr period of rest

ROMANS 11
[1] I say then, Hath God cast away his people? God forbid. For I also am an Israelite, of the seed of Abraham, of the tribe of Benjamin.
[7] What then? Israel hath not obtained that which he seeketh for; but the election hath obtained it, and the rest were blinded
[11] I say then, Have they stumbled that they should fall? God forbid: but rather THROUGH THEIR FALL SALVATION IS COME UNTO THE GENTILES, for to provoke them to jealousy.
[17] And if some of the branches be broken off, AND THOU, BEING A WILD OLIVE TREE, WERT GRAFFED IN AMONG THEM, and with them partakest of the root and fatness of the olive tree;
[19] Thou wilt say then, The branches were broken off, that I might be graffed in.
[23] And they also, if they abide not still in unbelief, shall be graffed in: for God is able to graff them in again.
[25] For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in.
[26] And so ALL ISRAEL SHALL BE SAVED: as it is written, There shall come out of Sion the Deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob:

The gentiles (the stangers) are grafted into their tree, the tree of the Whole house of Israel. Because the gentiles are grafted into their tree, they must take hold of the covenants that were given to the whole House of Israel. Including Gods Ten Commandments.

ROMANS 15 [26] For it hath pleased them of Macedonia and Achaia to make a certain contribution for the poor saints which are at Jerusalem. [27] It hath pleased them verily; and their debtors they are. For if THE GENTILES HAVE BEEN MADE PARTAKERS OF THEIR SPIRITUAL THINGS, their duty is also to minister unto them in carnal things.

In Romans we find that the gentiles have been made partakers of the “spiritual things” of the House of Israel.

ROMANS 7 [14] For we know that the LAW IS SPIRITUAL: but I am carnal, sold under sin.

Gods law is spiritual.

Hebrews 4:1-11
1 Let us therefore fear, lest, a promise being left us of entering into his rest, any of you should seem to come short of it.
2 For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it.
3 For we which have believed do enter into rest, as he said, As I have sworn in my wrath, if they shall enter into my rest: although the works were finished from the foundation of the world.
4 For he spake in a certain place of the seventh day on this wise, And God did rest the seventh day from all his works.
5 And in this place again, If they shall enter into my rest.
6 Seeing therefore it remaineth that some must enter therein, and they to whom it was first preached entered not in because of unbelief:
7 Again, he limiteth a certain day, saying in David, To day, after so long a time; as it is said, To day if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts.
8 For if Jesus had given them rest, then would he not afterward have spoken of another day.
9 There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God.
10 For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his.
11 Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief.

You can't do both. You are either given Rest and cease from your work or you continue to look to the law and work at that to try and gain Righteousness before God.

We are told explicitly that it is not by working at the law that makes us righteous. Even though it seems like a contradiction to the natural man.
HEBREWS 4 [9] THERE REMAINETH THEREFORE A REST to the people of God.[10] For HE THAT IS ENTERED INTO HIS REST, he also hath ceased from his own works, AS GOD DID FROM HIS. [11] Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief.

Well...Ya see what it says. Now lets see how God rested from His work

HEBREWS 4 [4] For he spake in a certain place of THE SEVENTH DAY on this wise, And GOD DID REST THE SEVENTH DAY from all his works

Yup. God rested the 7th day. The sabbath day

the question I have is whether sabbath is like all the other appointed days in scripture
- determined by the the moon?

is saturday a convention the sanhedrin adopted when the Julian calendar was adopted?
the Hebrew calendar has been preserved correct by the Jews.
Romans 3:1-2: the Jews are entrusted with the oracles of God.

These three—Bible, calendar and week—are all part of the oracles
committed to the Jews for all mankind.

For without the calendar, it would be impossible to fulfill correctly
what is written in the Hebrew Bible about hallowed annual times.

Genesis 1:14 says the sun and moon are for seasons, days and years.
As the sun marks the day, it also marks the year.

It is the Hebrew calendar which combines the lunar months and solar years
to be completely synchronized—enabling God’s people to observe His holy days
(as determined by the moon) in their proper seasons (as determined by the sun).

In this way, God’s calendar is luni-solar, which is consistent with Genesis 1:14. God
appointed both the sun and moon “for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years.”

One year is one orbit of the Earth around the sun. One solar year is 365 days and 6 hours.
The Roman calendar, used by Western civilization today, is based only on this solar cycle,
adding an extra day every fourth year to account for the extra six hours added yearly.

According to God’s calendar, however, months are determined by the moon—called lunar
months. There are 29 days, 12 hours and 44 minutes in one lunar month. That is how long
it takes for the moon to orbit the Earth. Twelve of these lunar months add up to 354.36
days—10.89 days short of one solar year (365 days, 6 hours).

Following the lunar cycle only (as the Muslims do) would move the calendar forward more
than 32 days every three years. April 1 would be where February 28 was three years earlier.

God has instructed us to observe His holy days on specific days of the month, while
at the same time, during appointed seasons in the year (Leviticus 23:4). The Hebrew
calendar accomplishes this through a 19-year time cycle made up of 12 common years
(with 12 months) and 7 leap years (with 13 months).

The 19-year cycle is significant because that is how the lunar months and the solar
years relate. For every 19 solar years, the moon revolves around the Earth 235 times.

“This remarkable astronomical relationship,” according to John Kossey, author of
The Hebrew Calendar: A Mathematical Introduction, “makes it possible to combine
common years and leap years together within a fundamental pattern that repeats
itself every 19 years.”

Rules of the Calendar

Calculating the Hebrew calendar depends on three relatively simple steps.
First, the precise time the new moon appears must be determined. Anciently, this was
done by sight. Today, it can be figured by simple calculations. Secondly, once the new
moon (or molad) is determined for the month called Tishri (the seventh month), the
Feast of Trumpets (to be observed on the first day of the seventh month) is adjusted
according to certain rules discussed below. And thirdly, a leap year is periodically
introduced into the 19-year cycle in order to keep the calendar in season—in harmony
with the solar year.

Here is the important point: anciently, these steps were calculated and determined
privately by the Sanhedrin. Today, they are fixed according to the Hebrew calendar
finalized by Hillel ii. The new moons can be calculated precisely. The four postpone-
ment rules are used [not posted].
And the predetermined leap years occur in the 3rd,
6th, 8th,11th, 14th, 17th and 19th years of the cycle.

How do we know the seven-day week has been preserved accurately?
How can we be sure that time has not been lost? Because God said
it would be preserved—through the Jews.

Yes, thank you. This has been told them time and time again yet they will have no Unity with Israel nor 'turn to the Lord who is the same from the beginning and our real Saviour ! instead they cling to being gentiles and christian who have remained still Strangers to this day and keeping themselves apart. Calling those 'judaizers' who share in Israel is not helping their cause.

The council Nicea did not address the Sabbath, that is correct.

But at this time, there were many different doctrines among Christians. So Constantine called upon a conclave of bishops from all over Rome, to settle these differences. This happened at the Council of Nicea in 325, which was convened to solve two main differences: The first was the divinity of Christ. Arius, a priest of Alexandria, was teaching that Christ was created and not eternal and divine like the Father. The Council denied him and his doctrines; and condemned his followers, the Arian teachers, although this Arian wing continued strong in some areas. When the Germanic and Gothic invaders were converted to Christianity, it was usually to the Arian form. The other major difference, facing the Council was the date on which to celebrate Passover. At this time, in Asia Minor, many Christians still commemorated Jesus’ death on the day the Jewish Passover lambs were slain. But Rome and the Western churches chose to honor the resurrection instead. They celebrated the Passover always on a Sunday. The Council ruled in favor of the west and Rome. It ruled that the Passover, commemorating the death of Jesus, no longer be kept—anyone keeping the old way would be put to death.
Here is the event that changed the Sabbath:

The Roman Catholic Church grew out of this “hijacking” of Christianity by Constantine. I might note here: as a result of this hijacking—and his Sunday sabbath—the later Council of Laodicea (AD 365) outlawed the true seventh-day sabbath (sunset Friday to sunset Saturday).

I have objected in times past to how certain members have spoken to you...rude and condescending

but I find your post here condescending to people such as myself who see Jesus all through scripture but get told by Sabbatarians that we do not actually see Jesus all through scripture and we need someone to point out to us that we are not following God at all

nice going
If we do not share the Truth from God, we do not love as we are commanded to do, not that we need the command after having received the Holy Spirit within. Please read the post again. There is nothng haughty in it, simply a reply sharing what is considered given in the Spirit.

care to answer the question from post #98?

Enforced Sunday worship began with the Roman Empire, specifically Constantine. In a.d. 321, Constantine issued an edict forbidding work on “the venerable day of the sun”—Sunday. In a letter following the Nicene Council of a.d. 325, Constantine spoke of the enforcement of Sunday worship for Easter services: “At this meeting the question concerning the most holy day of Easter was discussed, and it was resolved by the united judgment of all present that this feast ought to be kept by all and in every place on one and the same day.” In other words, Easter was to be kept on Sunday, and the Jewish observance of Passover was expressly forbidden.

To those who ignored the decrees of the Nicene Council, Constantine wrote, in another letter regarding Sabbath worship, “Forasmuch, then, as it is no longer possible to bear with your pernicious errors, we give warning by this present statute that none of you henceforth presume to assemble yourselves together. We have directed, accordingly, that you be deprived of all the houses in which you are accustomed to hold your assemblies: and our care in this respect extends so far as to forbid the holding of your superstitious and senseless meetings, not in public merely, but in any private house or place whatsoever. Let those of you, therefore, who are desirous of embracing the true and pure religion take the far better course of entering the Catholic Church .… [F]rom this day forward none of your unlawful assemblies may presume to appear in any public or private place. Let this edict be made public.”

After Constantine gave his edict, worship on any day except Sunday became illegal. Almost 40 years later, in a.d. 363, the Council of Laodicea determined, “Christians must not Judaize by resting on the Sabbath [that is, Saturday], but must work on that day, rather honoring the Lord’s day .… But if any shall be found to be Judaizers, let them be anathema [cursed and excommunicated] from Christ.”

At the Council of Tours in a.d. 1163, Pope Alexander III made this decree: “Whereas a damnable heresy has for some time lifted its head in the parts about Toulouse, and already spread infection through Gascony and other provinces, concealing itself like a serpent in its folds; as soon as its followers shall have been discovered, let no man afford them refuge on his estates; neither let there be any communication with them in buying and selling: so that, being deprived of the solace of human conversation, they may be compelled to return from error to wisdom.”

Historically speaking, there is no question as to who changed the day of worship.
It was the Catholic Church, enforced by the Roman Empire.

The Catholic Doctrinal Catechism states this directly: “Question: Have you any other way of proving that the church has power to institute festivals of precept? Answer: Had she not such power, she could not have done that in which all modern religionists agree with her, she could not have substituted the observance of Sunday, the first day of the week, for the observance of Saturday, the seventh day, a change for which there is no scriptural authority.” Catholics identify the changing of the day of worship as a sign of Catholic authority!

Catholics, in fact, feel the Protestants should keep the Sabbath as long as they reject the authority of Rome. The Catholic Doctrinal Catechism further states: “Question: When Protestants do profane work upon Saturday, or the seventh day of the week, do they follow the Scripture as their only rule of faith? Do they find this permission clearly laid down in the Sacred Volume? Answer: On the contrary, they have only the authority of tradition for this practice. In profaning Saturday, they violate one of God’s commandments, which He has never abrogated—‘Remember thou keep holy the Sabbath day.’”

The Bible itself offers no sanction for Sunday worship. At the time of Christ,
only pagans—specifically, the Roman Empire—worshipped on Sunday.

that was not the question. refer to post #98.

and yes, I know sunday is in honor of the sun god. I know pope Gregory invented the calender we now use. I also know all the months and days are pagan gods. I know what the talmad says about Jesus.

I could on and on, about the crusades , the new world order, etc.., but...

meeting on the first day of the week is attested to several times in the N.T. when John said he was " in the Sprit on the Lord's Day, he did NOT say Sabbath, and, the big one, there is not one N. T. command for Christ followers to keep it.

The Vatican wants to establish Sunday observance in EU law.
If people really understood history, this would terrify them.

Hearken to me, ye that follow after righteousness, ye that seek the LORD: look unto the rock whence ye are hewn, and to the hole of the pit whence ye are digged.

2Look unto Abraham your father, and unto Sarah that bare you: for I called him alone, and blessed him, and increased him.

3For the LORD shall comfort Zion: he will comfort all her waste places; and he will make her wilderness like Eden, and her desert like the garden of the LORD; joy and gladness shall be found therein, thanksgiving, and the voice of melody.

lets' see if you know this is well as you think- what theological issue
prompted the council to be called?

also, there was another " event " that happened right in this time frame
that also had a large effect. what was It?
There was lots of councils on issues called, which one ?

The Sabbath was changed to sunday.

The Passover [on 14th of Gods cal.]was replaced by Easter.
The deity of Christ was changed.
The calender was changed to a popes.
The modern holydays the world keeps where made.
The oracles of God where rejected and banned.
-

We have a warning in the bible that this would happen. Daniel 7:24-25.
Here God is talking about the “little horn,” the Catholic Church.

“And he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall
wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws:

and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time.”

Lets start with The Catholic Calendar

One dramatic measure of the Catholic religion’s global influence is its control over the definition
and measurement of time itself. Even today, though the presence of Catholicism doesn’t seem as
ubiquitous as it once was, we continue to live by a calendar largely created by the popes of old:

the Gregorian calendar—named after Pope Gregory xiii. That calendar revolves around fixing
the date of Easter in line with the spring equinox, ensuring that the Catholic’s pagan festivals
fall at the right time relative to Earth’s revolution around the sun.

This calendar is based on the Julian calendar, the Roman calendar established in 45 b.c. by Julius
Caesar. He chose the names and lengths of the months that we still use today (except July and
August, which were renamed after Julius and Augustus). But the Julian calendar was later altered
by the Vatican. God actually prophesied that the Catholic Church would change time itself!

What is the Catholic Church’s motive for changing the way mankind measures time?
It is an attempt to destroy—by removing from mankind’s memory—the knowledge
about God’s true holy days and the Sabbath.

the Roman Catholic Church have their own version of the Ten Com.
http://www.the-ten-commandments.org/catholic_church_idolatry.html
they deleted the second Commandment and changed God's Sabbath to Sunday
and split the tenth Commandment into two to get back to Ten Commandments
-

The following from the Catholic Encyclopaedia Vol. 4, p. 153 also confirms the deletion
of the second Commandment and the change of the fourth. “The church, after changing
the day of rest from the Jewish Sabbath of the seventh day of the week to the first made
the third commandment refer to Sunday as the day to be kept holy as the Lord's Day.”

-
In 1562 the Archbishop declared that tradition now stood above scripture.

“The authority of the Church is illustrated most clearly by the scriptures, for on one hand
she recommends them, declares them to be divine, and offers them to us to be read, and
on the other hand, the legal precepts in the scriptures taught by the Lord have ceased by
virtue of the same authority.

The Sabbath, the most glorious day in the law, has been changed into the Lord's day.

-
Ancient Rome’s pagan holidays have been chained on this current world.
These include certain annual holidays—Christmas, New Year’s, Easter,
as well as many more, every one a pagan day—every one used to stimulate
the sale of merchandise in the commercial markets. Any earnest seeker after
truth learns that these days are all of heathen origin and pagan significance.

The first half of verse 25 provides the answer: It is an attempt to destroy—
by removing from mankind’s memory—the knowledge about God’s true
holy days and the Sabbath.

meeting on the first day of the week is attested to several times in the N.T.
We can go over the 8 places in the new testement, with the phrase
"first day of the week", but not one commands a sunday worship service.

when John said he was " in the Sprit on the Lord's Day, he did NOT say Sabbath,
I agree , it was also not even a day of the week at all, but he was in
a vision of the future events, elsewhere refered to as "the Day of The Lord"
To use this one verse to say sunday today is the Lords day, is false doctrine.

and, the big one, there is not one N. T. command for Christ followers to keep it.
Do you think that God unblessed the Sabbath day? The big one is there is no
authority in the bible to observe sunday, easter or christmas day today.
