The root issue is 'separation of Church and State' doctrine. It is common among many conservative denominations.

And do you believe that the Church must involve itself in State affairs?

It would be impossible to divide .The State acts as the church determining the moral laws and executing them .Setting up the rules for those who violate the commandments as laws of men.

We have the privilege to pray and vote.

The problem with the JWs is in how they interpret the parables which hide the spiritual meaning from the lost .A common one is in respect to the parable eat blood or drink the blood of men . They like the Catholic look to the literal One is forbidden the other is a must. neither walk by faith, the unseen spiritual meaning hid in parables.

In this case, the head of the organization sent instructions not to report any child abuse claims. This shows an organizational problem not an issue with an handful of black sheep. If you do nothing about evil you are promoting it (as JaumeJ said above). You are right it is not easy to prosecute people. It takes a lot of courage to stand up and fight back the evil doers. I am so proud of them.
Anyone who has some knowledge of the content and interpretation of the US Constitution is well aware of that separation between church and state.

Anyone with the least understanding of what Jesus teaches and whom He acknowledged knows if we are following His example and way, we are not behind any politician for all have their agendas.

To say otherwise is either dictatorial or ignorant.

Please do not come back with some allegation that I am calling anyone ignorant in any negative sense. The Only One who has no ignorance is our Father so don't ge jiggy about a word, ok?

God bless all who are truly in Jesus Christ and of course all who truly seek God, amen.

Can I ask you about your Jewish avatar, I hear there's an emerging group of Christians who hold to Judaism and apply it to Christianity. I was told these people are not true Christians, do you know anything about them. I'm interested to know what they believe.

The avatar is a replica of the candlestick representing the seven spirits ........ the true assembly of God.

I recognize and always will the history of our faith, the faith of Abraham, as taught by Jesus Christ.

When we forget our true background, that is to say, history, we are doomed to dwell in some shaded areas of this age, even darkness.

If you know the meaning of Abraham, that is the full translation of the name, yoou already know it is explained as the Father of Nations.........when you truly know this you know from whence faith comes. If one does not, he is yet learning.

Abraham was a sinner just like me, until his obedience was counted as righteousness to him. Our pastor hardly ever mentions Abraham, we spend most of our time learning about Jesus because Jesus will not share His glory with any sinner like Abraham.

So as great a man as Abraham was, he can not do anything for us. We can learn about his life and be encouraged by his obedience but that's all his his legacy has left us, but Christ has given us the greatest gift by paying the penalty for our sins and purchasing eternal life in paradise for believers.

Abraham from Whom we receive our faith is God, the Honored Father of Nations.........

Read in the New TEstament and you will learn that faith is a gift from Him.

Jesus teaches no man comes to the Father but by Him.

It is the Father Who leads us to Jesus..........curious! True!

Another thing curious is that people today see the candlestick mentione in Revelation and they think it is "Jewish."

Until Jesus came there was no denomination called Jewish or JUdaism, it was then the faith of Abraham also.

Have you never heard when a person passes on it is said they have crossed Jordan? I have.

The Hebrews crossed Jordan into the Promised land, and so all believers cross Jordan to the Eternal Promised Land, the KIngdom.

We are also Hebrews who believe Jesus, again by translation for Hebrew means from across teh river, and so we are going to our Premised Land crossing our spiritual Jordan, that is to say leaving this tabernacle called our bodies.

No one needs to know all the above as long as his faith isin Jesus Christ, but the above is true.

God bless you and God bless your preacher, amen.

The dilemma is whether or not to bring the State into what people like the JW consider to be Church affairs.

Bishops and other leaders of the Roman Catholic Church in Pennsylvania covered up
child sexual abuse by more than 300 priests over a period of 70 years, persuading
victims not to report the abuse and law enforcement not to investigate it, according
to a searing report issued by a grand jury on Tuesday.

I would not call the faith of Christ, the faith of Abraham in respect to the earthly person Abraham rather than the faith of God not seen.

If we were to call the earthly person Abraham as our Father then we have blasphemed the name of God .

And call no man your father upon the earth: for one is your Father, which is in heaven. Mathew 23:9

If freedom of religion is to mean anything, the JWs, the Mormons, etc. should be strictly left alone by the State. Unless they infringe on the rights of others, they can do whatever they please, no matter how ridiculous. By the same token churches should not register themselves as charities wit the State.

Jesus Christ teaches the faith of Abraham. Please reread all of the post to which you respond.

The problem is in some places if you are not registered you are prevented from helping the poor . The simple task of handing out clothes, food ,and free medical care will land you in court. Even if you are willing to to face the system, you scare off the very people you desire to help. I will say giving to charity then taking a tax deduction is not giving to charity IMO .

You are right child abuse takes place in every religion but this is not an excuse. As Pemican pointed out, this shows the evil of religious organizations. Jesus is not a religion but a friend who gave his life for us to make us free not to be raped...
A Church is a religions organisation, there's nothing wrong with the Church of Christ but there are wicked people within the Church pretending to be Christians. Sometimes they manage to deceive everyone and the commit child rape.

There's nothing wrong with religion or the Church, but it's the wicked who sneak in as wolves in sheep's clothing. Even Jesus had a Devil named Judas in His congregation. So lets not throw out the baby with the bath water.
