Why would there be the need to lie to the people about the earth being round or flat, do you think that the government really gives a care what we believe?
I'll tell you what will get the truth from them directly to your doorstep, quit paying your taxes.
I thought the earth was flat too, until I had to climb the side of a mountain instead of walk up it

There are many lies out there indeed, it takes hard research to know which scientists have integrity and publish honest research and those who do not.
I would agree that systems, like the military industrial complex has its agenda and if people think they are free it is a mere illusion for the time being until they are ready to pull the curtain down. We are steeped in surveillance...Google traffic and Google maps just one revealed part.
I think most members know my love and devotion to God's Word. How I have studied it and studied it, read it, in many versions and the original languages. But prove flat earth is wrong?
First, the Bible is not a science text book. Of course, everything it says on science is correct. But, the way certain ignorant disaffected people pull verses out of context to support completely untenable positions boogles the mind!
The Bible NEVER says the earth is flat. The ancients were not stupid, and God told them the truth about everything. All these sketchy verses, pulled out of context to prove nothing. I honestly don't have the time of day to waste on refuting these crazy obsessions. I do not believe they should be allowed on CC, unless they are in a separate forum, called the conspiracy forum, where I do not go.
I will say, God is not against science, or knowing the truth about our world. Too many people a given a call to study our world, and to understand it. No, science is not inspired, but the scientific community has set many rules up, statistics, peer reviewed journals to avoid fanciful hypotheses like these from becoming part of the greater scientic volume of knowledge.
Now, I realize there are issues in areas like creation vs evolution. To me, the evolution hypothesis has been thoroughly debunked by biochemists and anthropologists and others specialist. And of course, there is lots of kick back, because in this case, a lot hinges on the outcome of this debate. Which is why atheists fight dirty and fight hard against the work done in fields like Intelligent Design.
But flat earth!? Sounds like the Medieval ages have returned, and ignorance is reigning.

well the op has checked out, but myself and few other stalwart souls spent some time addressing the subject with her (I think the op was she and not he but not sure for sure)
it went on for pages...if I remember right, she also did not believe there were any other planets
and the sun was much smaller than has been reported
and other similar failures to understand Genesis...as well as a belief in the Sabbath still being a law for believers in Christ
so, no one was ever going to convince her otherwise

I actually watched the whole video. Early on he asserts that you would have to believe in the big bang in order to believe in a round, revolving earth because that's the only way such an earth could be put into motion. That's a mere assertion of which he made no attempt to support. It makes God, the Creator, sound power-limited. The Bible verses he uses can be interpreted in other ways that he doesn't even address.
Has anyone ever traversed the continent of Antarctica from one shore, past the south pole, to the opposite shore (for example from the tip of South America to Australia)? I really don't know. But I'm guessing if anyone has, this preacher would simply brush it off as another "lie".
I've watched old footage of very early atmospheric rocket experiments. And when the ship would leave our atmosphere the visuals they returned did make the earth appear devoid of curvature. As if it was a flat disc.
Now all networks broadcasting anything space related to American audiences and likely international too, do not broadcast live as it happens. This due to what transpired live unedited or censored during the Mars lander coverage. Which I saw.
I think if we believe we know what is up in matters of our own planet we may be kidding ourselves. Notice? Governments across the planet own air and space access rights.
We little people can't dare to venture there without permissions.
That guy that owns Virgin airways created a plane that can leave our atmosphere and enter space. News kept us apprised of his project progress. Then we were told he was selling maiden voyage tickets. Rich people only can afford that. Now, we've heard nothing about launch date.
And likely Richard Branson will never see it happen. I wonder why?
They are so sword tongued , then they use references to God to salt their words, as if they're speaking what God would approve.

You know some things seem far fetched to be even considered. My son and I went on a adventure because of this thread.
We watched several videos on flat Earth theroy and it had some interesting points.
Then went to the rebuttal videos which had there view expressed in a more mature way.
Then going to the word of God well no questions there . A sphere it is.
This flat Earth theroy is a attack on God's creation and we know whos behind that.
It reminded me of Nicodemus and Jesus conversation about entering the womb a second time. How Jesus could of laughed that soul to scorn, but he didn't . And explained it in a manner for his ears to hear.
I went to public school back in the day. In history alone what I was told has been disproven let alone science.
In short what I'm trying to get at is are we to trust the arm of flesh? Did the Lord say lean not to your own understanding?
Who taught you the world was round like a sphere? What other things have we taken for granted to be true. Who taught you.?

Tell you what! When you have been around this forum as long as I have, or maybe longer than a day, then we will talk.
There is a real world, with real science. As in repeatable and observable! Like seeing the earth from space. Like Magellan and Captains Cook and Vancouver and others who sailed from England and other European countries and sailed down the Atlantic, around Patagonia into the Pacific. Across the Pacific, stopping in Australia and other ports before sailing across the Indian Sea, to Cape Horn, back into the Atlantic and home. That's called sailing around the globe, and a real fact.
People who push nonsense like a flat earth, or a pyramid in your ridiculous imaginary earth, do such a deserve to the cause of Christ and missions, it is appalling. Why don’t you take your ignorance elsewhere?
