I don't really like girls who wear makeup. (mascara, eye shadow, foundation, gloss)

I'm not going to say where I got the images or who the girls are but... I'll let you see and then I'll explain.

The images on the left look like real people, that I would want to approach or actually talk to. And the people on the left I would just as soon not talk to or pretend they didn't exist.

It wasn't until I saw these that it hit me, how biased(?) I am. I suppose I have been very judgmental of people who wear makeup. Simply ignoring them or believing they were shallow or one dimensional or using it to cover a train wreck of emotional scars.

BUT, in this personal discovery I noticed that I am a minority. Most guys like the girls on the right more than the ones on the left.

So yeah.
You’re probably the first male that I’ve read to have a view as such.

Nothing against those who choose to wear make-up either, as it’s their personal choice.

I’m not one to wear much, only just eyeliner, mascara and lipstick but I am aware of the culture that women in this society have to live up to.

For me, the only person I want to ever impress is God, and God alone.

In all seriousness... I do wear make up but not every day. Its something I could live without if my future mate asked me to.
Remember, it's a federal crime to conceal freckles with makeup.

I have never given a picture of myself with makeup to my boyfriend, and he loves me for who God created me to be. I think I am the happiest woman alive.

Based on the OP and some of the other posts, I have a question. Is there a time when it's inappropriate NOT to wear makeup? Like having some sort of super huge scar or a nasty zit or....something?
No....not that I could think of..

I really love that you guys prefer natural women--it's very refreshing and encouraging!

However, one thing I wanted to point out is that makeup does NOT have to look RuPaul. Personally, I'm scared as well of the thought of things like gluing fake hair to my eyelids and covering them with a pint of mascara... I'm not judging anyone, I'm just saying that for me, the thought of having eyelashes that look like overgrown spiders is kinda freaky.

But let me ask you--guys, do you ever get pimples? Do they ever leave those little red marks on your face that don't go away for weeks or months and do you ever wish you could cover them up? Do you ever wish you could somehow make your skin tone a little more even and not so obviously splotchy?

Enter the magic of well-done, carefully blended makeup. Whenever I see people with complexion problems I always pray that it will be healed, because I've been there. If I go completely "natural", my own mother thinks I have the flu. I have pale skin and baby-fine hair, even though it's dark, so "in the natural", I look as if I have no eyebrows. Same goes for my lip color--very pale. Even worse, my dress code at work calls for all black, which, with my coloring, completely washes out any color I have in my face to begin with.

With a light blending of foundation/concealer (it's more like putting on regular face lotion, not a mask), eyebrow powder, and slight, naturally colored lip color (which is all I wear), I actually look like a normal, presentable person. People never even know I'm wearing makeup because I've had plenty of women tell me "you might look better with a little makeup"! Ha!

But at the same time, people also usually never realize I've struggled with complexion problems either. I've even had people tell me I should model because "your skin is so perfect." HA, HA, and HA!! If only they knew (or saw me after I washed my face.)

Sometimes I actually feel sorry for guys in that it's not socially acceptable for them to wear makeup, because it's obvious that they're embarrassed about something on their face and can't cover it up. Makeup isn't perfect but it CAN make a huge difference.

But hey, if I meet a guy who WANTS me to look like the Zombie Apocalypse come to life, who am I to argue? :)
I dont like putting Foundation and stuff on wheb I have a bigger pimple problem. It just can make it worsein.
There was only one oe two times where my break outs were so bad that i covered them up...
I got a full coverage Foundation for that lol. Usually i dont wear, any. Sometimes ill use a very lighr one if i get into make up mood. But then ppl never notice because I make it look THAT natural lol

So yeah.
Lol..different women apply thier make up differently..maybe more natural during the day and more dramatic at night when there's less light..lol

Just preference..but if a woman feels better bout herself wearing make up and more comfortable..shouldn't that matter to you as WELL..how SHE feels n not just you? Lol

I'm very fair skinned so if I didn't wear some type of make up I'd look very washed out..blond lashes and all..

Thank you so much for your prayers. Yes. I was looking, but was losing hope. Praying, but not really believing. What has happened these last weeks has really amazed me. God is shaking the core of my excistence. He has answered prayers beyond anything I could have dreamt of and is moving in such a way, I could never believe was possible. Not only am I in love with the most wonderful, patient, loving, kind, funny, committed guy in the world, but I am also on fire for the Lord. Because the fingerprints of God is so much on this relationship that it is impossible to ignore. He loves the Lord as much as I do, and I love the fruits of the Spirit he demonstrates every day. I am definetly not looking anymore, and neither is he. My walk in the desert is over, and I have come home to an abundance of love and laughter.

The most amazing lesson I have learnt is that God makes you accountable to your prayers and commitments to Him. He has confronted me and answered prayers prayed years ago. Also commitments I made to Him even 30 years back He has made me accountable for, and it has humbled me and amazed me to the point of trembling of fear. We serve an amazing God that is truly a loving father and almighty. He has brought my walk with Him to a new level these weeks. That I have met a husband to be as well, is a bonus and a blessing beyond measures.

He sounds like a wonderful man.
He is amazing! Really special. I can't believe that he accepts and loves me as I am. He doesn't demand anything of me, and loving him is the easiest thing I have ever done, and I am positive he feels the same way. He demonstrates a godly love that just feels undeserved. I am not worthy of him!

Sorry guys... I am totally ruining this thread.
Point is, the right guy with the right mindset will appreciate the efforts you do to look good for him and will see the person behind the makeup.

That said, a girl should ask herself what is the motive behind the makeup? Is it to attract men, then ask yourself what kind of men would you attract with it. Is it to cover your flaws, hasn't God made you in His image and loves you for who you are - without the makeup? If it is to fix a low selfesteem, ask yourself what caused that, and work on it. If you are as ugly as you might think, do you really believe makeup would fix that?

Girls. Embrace your beauty, and don't cover it up with expensive makeup!
