There are lots... i just felt like starting a thread on songs that prod us to action-- any, for the Lord.

Here's one.

A hymn for the working day. Features Johann Sebastian Bach's melody "Wachet Auf" played on folk instruments.

Action songs? There's a bunch!

"Well I went to the enemy's camp
And I took back what he stole from me"

"I'm taking on Timothy's burden"

"No matter what comes my way
I'll lift my voice and say
Hallelujah anyhow"

(Side note: In Children's Church, "action songs" are songs where the kids get up and move, doing actions to the song lyrics. But I knew what you meant.) ;)

Yes, i know. But we adults need actions songs as well, and many of our their songs can be ours too!

We Are

Kari Jobe

Every secret, every shame
Every fear, every pain
Live inside the dark
But that's who we are
We are children of the day

So wake up sleeper
Lift your head
We were meant for more than this
Fight the shadows, conquer death
Make the most of time we have left

We are the light of the world
We are the city on the hill
We are the light of the world
We gotta, we gotta
We gotta let the light shine

Let the light shine
Let the light shine

We are called to spread the news
Tell the world the simple truth
Jesus came to save
There's freedom in his name
So let it all breakthrough

We are the light, we are the light
We are the light
To let your light shine brighter

We are the light, we are the light
We are the light, Jesus

We are the light, we are the light
We are the light
We will lift you high and
Shine, shine, shine

We gotta shine, we gotta shine
Let the light shine
Let the light shine

Whoops, the 4th line of the first stanza of “We Are” above should read, “But that’s .. NOT .. who we are”.

There are a couple of others missing too, so it’s probably best to just listen to Kari sing it :)

Thanks for dropping by. We had some hours power off with our own typhoon in these parts making landfall, but thank God our place is not greatly affected.

Here's one on Standing on God's promises.

Here's one on Looking up... the concert title alone reminds me what to do down here. It's a concert i could watch, and actually watched, again... and again.
