Well, unfortunately this particular forum IS the most hateful, contentious, spiteful forum and it's spilled over to other forums.. That's why I said you (general you) need thick skin to survive in here.
Think about what you just said there. :( This particular forum, that discusses the Bible, is.....
And all that that is, spills out into other forums.

I've not kept a running record because that would be depressing. However, long term persons like yourself who know these things may likely notice it isn't everyone that makes that so. I've noticed that same thing in other forums. It isn't all. it's a handful. But that remains constant while others leave or get kicked. And then the bad reputation out in cyberspace starts due to the issues that persist due to the handful that are never stopped.

WAS harsh from time to time. People tend to dismiss THAT side of Him. He threatened to whip the money-changers, he called Peter a liar, and Judas a betrayer.
I've been on forums where people will argue vehemently that while Immanuel Jesus fashioned a whip with his own hands so as to take after the money changers, there's no mention he actually struck them.
If he didn't intend to use the whip when his voice could command demons to leave a person possessed, why would he think to fashion a whip for the purpose of making the money changers scatter?
Jesus told Satan to get behind him when he confronted Peter for his words. Because Satan was controlling Peters tongue.
And Judas was a betrayer but Jesus told him to go and do what he must do. Judas set God's mission for Jesus into motion. And contrary to what was written of him later by those who judged it from the human perspective, Judas later repented and was forgiven his sin from the cross. When Jesus forgave all responsible for his being there. Because, like Judas, they did not know why Jesus lived and why what was happening was happening according to God's plan.
Their own insecurity and pride, and notice it was the Jews, Jesus' own people, screaming for him to be put to death, wanted Jesus dead. Because they perceived he was a blasphemer. He spoke contrary to what the elders claimed were God's laws. And what they prosecuted using their authority as such.

Maybe He wasn't as bold about it as Dcon is, but if Jesus got through to people with harshness, so can Dcon. :) He's already stated with scripture that
it is GOD who brings people to Him through US. By any means possible, even with harsh words..
If God intended his truth to be delivered by those who utilize pejoratives and mockery of others then he would have never inspired the condemnation of such in just the book of Proverbs alone.

There are people who think the lost come to Christ.
Are you one of those people who thinks God chooses some and not others.

That's the carnal material mind's viewpoint. That's not what the Word is. Nor is it what the Word means to say.
Well then, I think we should all just pack up and go home, since contending for the faith with words and passion is prideful and moreover carnal and materialistic?

So instead of "I will continue to swing the sword" lest we appear prideful....... better to say "The sword will swing itself"

I never said that it is EVERY ONE who makes this forum so hostile. Quite a few, yes, but not all.. I also never said that Jesus actually struck the money changers. The bible doesn't say if He did or not, so we can just assume that He cracked it at them and scared them out. That was the whole point of it, to show them He meant business.

It wasn't Judas who "set God's mission for Jesus into motion". GOD Himself did that by allowing a virgin to divinely have His son. :) Also, it was Peter on the cross, crucified upside down. Judas committed suicide.

Everything that happened to Jesus from beginning of life, to hanging on the cross, was part of God's plan. People fear what/who they don't understand, and at the end, they feared Jesus because they couldn't understand why He couldn't save Himself if he indeed were (the Son of) God. So they called for His execution even though the king was against it and wanted to set Him free..

We all need to keep in mind that Jesus was fully human, a
PERFECT human. WE are IMPERFECT humans given to all sorts of emotions. And those emotions come through in various ways..

So God can't work through US to bring people to HIM? That's news to me. I've seen people here, such as LJS, say that through (God working through) Dcon, she now has a better grasp of the bible and who Jesus really is... :) And she isn't the only one.

Our whole purpose for even being on earth is to bring people to Christ. I know for a fact, that several here have thanked Dcon for being so harsh and bold about the truth and the error of their ways..

I think what may contribute to the chaos is people don't take time to read what people post. They're so ready to throw their own words at someone's remarks that they don't take time to actually read what someone is writing.

Judas did set God's mission for Jesus to die for the worlds sins into motion.
If Judas had not betrayed Jesus to the elders in the temple so they could then conspire with the Roman guard to arrest Jesus, Jesus would have never come to be judged by the peoples vote to die on the cross instead of Barrabas the thief.
:) Also, it was Peter on the cross, crucified upside down.
U'm aware of how Peter died. I don't know how that comes up in response to my post.
Judas committed suicide.
Yes, I know. And he repented before that and was forgiven from the cross.

Because your post was full of pride.
While pride is, as I stated, an additional characteristic of those who defend works salvation.

You obviously have NO IDEA what DC believes.

We believe much of the same way as DC does. That is not passifying and condoning False Doctrine and a False Gospel. We believe that we are commanded to confront the theology coming from the False Teachers.

Jude 1:3-4 (HCSB)
3 Dear friends, although I was eager to write you about the salvation we share, I found it necessary to write and exhort you to contend for the faith that was delivered to the saints once for all.
4 For some men, who were designated for this judgment long ago, have come in by stealth; they are ungodly, turning the grace of our God into promiscuity and denying Jesus Christ, our only Master and Lord.

Acts 20:29-31 (NKJV)
29 For I know this, that after my departure savage wolves will come in among you, not sparing the flock.
30 Also from among yourselves men will rise up, speaking perverse things, to draw away the disciples after themselves.
31 Therefore watch, and remember that for three years I did not cease to warn everyone night and day with tears.

2 Peter 2:1-3 (HCSB)
1 But there were also false prophets among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you. They will secretly bring in destructive heresies, even denying the Master who bought them, and will bring swift destruction on themselves.
2 Many will follow their unrestrained ways, and the way of truth will be blasphemed because of them.
3 They will exploit you in their greed with deceptive words. Their condemnation, ⌊pronounced⌋ long ago, is not idle, and their destruction does not sleep.

How are you being obedient to those verses when you condone false teaching?

Peter, Paul, and Jude believed in confronting false doctrine and a false gospel, what about you?

Really? When their remarks sound exactly like he did when he defended his behavior here?
Who acts like the devil and pridefully thinks they led people to Christ for the effort?

Pride. That's the issue here. Your site is full of it and its defenders.
Psalms 115:1 (NKJV) Not unto us, O LORD, not unto us, But to Your name give glory, Because of Your mercy, Because of Your truth.

You obviously have NO IDEA what DC believes.
You obviously have no time to read what I've written so I'll make it short. It is a lie from the pit anyone who claims I said dCon defends works salvation.
That's plain and simply enough said.

Lastly, I know what dCon examples. And thinking that leads people to find Christ is blasphemy. The claim means nothing. His behavior says everything that is wrong with his spirit. And while I may be banned for talking about a fallen one here like that, it sure seems OK for people to defend him and attack someone who doesn't cower to his vicious evil.
I'll find a Christian forum to enjoy. Someone who has said this board, that DISCUSSES THE WORD OF GOD, is contentious and hate filled often and that spills into other boards, forewarns everyone who read them. When evil lives in a bible discussion board and is let to fester that's pathetic.
But when people think to defend one of evil's disciples for being evil and thinking that is appreciated by others who have never spoken up to agree, that's just evil reproducing itself. And that means it is contagious. I notice a lot of new arrivals aren't here long. Looked for their post history on the Intro board where I intro'd myself. Now I know why.

I read passion and not pride. We have spent literally years refuting the false teaching of salvation by works and as you know because I read your post it is a very harmful teaching for many reasons.

Do we proclaim the truth?
Do we preach the word?
Do we plant the word?
Do we water the word?
Do we labor with other believers?
Do we witness/
Do we persuade MEN?
Are we rewarded (mithos) for our service and gaining the more?
Was Timothy called a SON in the LORD by PAUL who obviously led him to the LORD?
How exactly do we MAKE disciples if not for the above?
Do we earnestly contend for the faith?

Therefore, knowing the fear of the Lord, we persuade men, but we are made manifest to God; and I hope that we are made manifest also in your consciences.

It is incredulous that a believer would call me evil, fallen, prideful, blasphemous, a troll and lost because I believe we, through the above OBVIOUS TRUTHS and actions, lead people to Christ through the proclamation of the word.

Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of GOD<--HOW shall they hear except one be sent!!!!

Well, I do not know for sure, but that person sure seems to be a product of Liberal Theology. Just show the Love of Jesus, and don't warn them that false gospel they follow, puts you on the Wide Road to Destruction. I am sure glad that I am a Conservative Christian. When I was first saved, I was being tossed to and fro by every wind of doctrine. For about 3 months, I was all caught up into Kenneth Copeland, believe it or not. THANK GOD, THAT HE OPENED MY EYES TO THE GREED THAT I KNEW WAS NOT OF GOD. The Holy Spirit brought some OUTSTANDING Bible Teachers, that were not greedy, to listen to, so that I got grounded in the WORD. And all of them after that bad experience with Copeland, believed in the Eternal Security (OSAS) of the Believer in CHRIST.

We have started an in-depth study of the book of Galatians in my church :) Part of this past week's teaching was, Jesus + anything is a false gospel. I thank God for leading me to a church that embraces and teaches the truth of God's Word. One of my pastors asked me recently, how did you find this church? I had been going to a number of churches and some of them were truly lovely but I was still looking when I invited a street musician over to my place for dinner one night. In the course of our conversation, it came out that I was looking for a church, and they told me about the church I now attend. I have been there for over a decade now :D My pastor enjoyed hearing that story, for it does seem a little unusual :giggle: I love my church!

Hi VCO, it maybe Liberal Theology or not that caused this person to become hyper critical. But I will pray that she reaches out to Jesus who can help her overcome.

God bless this poster "Peaceful"

AMEN.......Jesus plus anything other than faith into his finished work = a gospel of another kind, no power to save, double cursed and all who buy into it according to Paul (who was inspired) are bewitched and foolish

O foolish Galatians, who has bewitched thee, having begun in the spirit (born again by faith) are you now made perfect (complete/finished) by the flesh (work or deeds of the law or flesh)

The simplicity found in Christ

It pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe

He that believes on the Son is having everlasting life
