10/17/2018 " How well do Christians really understand biblical doctrine about their faith?
Ligonier Ministries released its third study on the State of Theology in the United States conducted by LifeWay Research.
They asked 3,000 Americans what they believe about "God, salvation, ethics, and the Bible" and discovered several alarming heresies that some Christians say they believe.
"One of the most striking findings is that Americans continue to fail to grasp that God is holy," Ligonier said in a statement.
A whopping 69 percent of Americans disagree with the idea that "Even the smallest sin deserves eternal damnation," a doctrine clearly outlined in the Bible.
It turns out that evangelical Christians also have a hard time believing what the Bible says about man's sinful nature. This is demonstrated by the fact that 52 percent of evangelicals agree that everyone sins a little, "but most people are good by nature." "

30 thousand member congregations at so called mega-churches that never hear the speaker at the pulpit talk about sin and repentance I think leads to this false understanding. Very troubling times but it is all part of God's plan. And it will arrive at a glorious conclusion in his due time. That's the one thing that makes the things happening in this world bearable I think. That and not watching the worldly news but reading Christian news sites instead.
Though from time to time happening on One America News isn't a bad thing. The one true unbiased news site broadcast in America. Thank God.

There is the Antichrist and there is also the spirit of the antichrist. More and more the latter is gaining power in this world. America being my home , here it seems it is growing exponentially. More troubling is when this occurs due to the legislative, peoples prerogative, process.

Eternal hell fire doctrine!!
Can i ask you a question; if heavens and earth are going to pass away and in their place we shall have new heavens and new earth, where will this eternal hell be?

I think it just proves that in every "Christian" culture, most Christians do not care.

Its not so much about "how bad Christianity is today", its more about "how many cultural Christians do we have in the USA".

Therefore, it has nothing to do with "end times, antichrist" etc.

maybe you should actually respond to the op instead of posting your position on biblical doctrine

maybe you are believing a heresy right there :(

It is a response to the op but also an inquiry.

Christian 'culture' occurs when the Catholic church goes into animistic countries and creates a perversion based on part heathenistic practice part Catholic dogma so that they end up creating a bastardized form of 'religious heresy'. It's been a while since I had my cultural anthropology class so I forget what the word is for this practice.

In essence, the Jesuits set up shop in Africa and incorporate the things that the natives already believe in, irregardless of how demonic it is in practice . . . then they add three Our Fathers and three Hail Mary's, a few statues and some eucharistic silliness and viola! a new religion all together, but it still calls itself Christianity.

Eternal hell fire will be exactly where God puts it and it will burn forever and ever - exactly as the Bible says!

Cultural Christians are people who live in an officially Christian country so they think about themselves as Christians, but they are not.

Didn't Jesus teach our Father in heaven loves us more than our father of this world, if your child made a mistake you would punish them forever?

I think hell is just a description of the experiences for the spirits that forget God, God is going to forget them forever also and this is righteous judgement.

I would encourage you to get out of your USA-centric mindset. In terms of God's timeframe and the world as a whole, what happens inside the US is relatively insignificant. Y'all are abundantly blessed... and blinded.

In OUTER DARKNESS. Presumably that is outside space and therefore outside the New Heaves and the New Earth "wherein dwelleth righteousnesss".

" How well do Christians really understand biblical doctrine about their faith?"
Christians have only themselves to blame if they do not understand Bible doctrine and Bible truth.

With the vast number of FREE websites which can enable one to use any and all legitimate Bible study tools, no one has any excuse-- except LAZINESS.

By the same token many who call themselves Christians may be so in name only, not having been regenerated. And without the indwelling Holy Spirit, the Bible will make absolutely no sense.

Heresy? I believe this word is a bit off if your intent i asking if someone is under a misconception.

I do not consider a person heretical who observes the first day of the week as the Sabbath of the Lord, would you? I certainly hope people do not think that of me for loving the day given by God.

Using such strong language leaqds to things like the Inquisition and to people like Torrequemada…...not a good thing at all…….not to forget Constantine.

Christ crucified is the main lesson to understand, why and what He has accomplished in His unique victory for us all.

This is true in many cases. You can see this the most clear in my opinion in HAITI. They combine Voodoo with the catholic services. They even have their own **** (i wont name them, no need to know the names of these) that they have named according to catholic saints.
Its like: X catholic saint represents Y spirit in Voodoo.

Yup. This is very common in America, and even in southern europe.
Most people dont know a thing about the bible, yet if you ask them they say they are christians because they were born into cultural christianity. I.e. they were baptized into the catholic church when born usually.
Or alternatively they grew up in a baptist church, said a prayer and now will identify as christians for the rest of their life, despite never reading the bible, never praying, never going to church, never giving God a second thought.
