Should the rush of 4,000 illegal immigrants from Honduras just be allowed in America? Or should they be stopped and come in legally... seek asylum?

The notion of rewarding people that break our laws to enter baffles me, and always has. It's not a huge deterrent for abiding by laws when your first act is to break one and get away with it.

I believe we are to be kind and help widows, orphans and the wayfarer, but at the same time those wayfarers should be screened.

It is my understanding that some people are using children not their own as "family" in their management of entry.

It is like any other benefit from governments, it should be managed with understanding and good will.

They should be processed (documented as trying to enter the country illegally) and then deported. That is what they do to people caught trying to enter illegally. This group should be treated no differently.

If they are seeking asylum, there is a process for them to come in legally......However, IF they set foot on American soil.......well, they are here.....and we have to figure out what to do with them. This is why the boat people try so hard to get to the beach.......and why the Coast Guard tries to get them BEFORE they do.......

It's a hard choice because of the heartbreaking circumstances they are fleeing. BUT, they should be screened! I agree with that.

I suppose you're referring to the so called caravan of illegals heading for our border? Those that have bunches of kids with them and are being fed and given water in Mexico so they can proceed north?

They should be stopped and turned back. Those that ignore the warning should be arrested and imprisoned. We're being invaded and our health is at risk for the diseases these foreign entrants bring with them. Remember the news reports a few years ago when the new method of illegal encroachment on this nation was via kid groups? They were secretly transported to public schools across the nation. And kids in those schools suffered all sorts of maladies for it.

We're the only country in the world that is liberal lame in protecting our borders from illegal entry. Try to do the same thing entering Mexico and see what happens. What? Prison!
Immigration and illegal alien prosecution is written into their constitution.

How about we send in the Marines and make Honduras the 51st State?

Then, go ahead and get Puerto Rico in too...........

We got the firepower........and it would be cheaper than supporting them here........well, imho......

The law is the law.
Those who violate the law are criminals.
We got enough here already.

This is a christian conundrum - I like Zeroturbulence's response best... As christians we should have and show compassion for their plight; while recognizing the 'rule of law.' Unfortunately, the 'rule of law' in many of these impoverished lands are tragic. The best we can do is treat them with as much civility as is humanly possible, and with as much respect and decency as we can muster - they should be processed and returned home with explicit instructions (in their native languages) for how to apply to enter legally...
With so many non-profits out there - one would think that one of these 'non-profit' organizations could help bring in reinforcements to assist with the humanitarian and logistics burden...
Unfortunately, cost is always an unpleasant factor and reality check...

yeah, uh, er, not my definition of a man's man..........regardless of how he is doing with his policies........he isn't exactly a shining example of what a man should be in my opinion..........

Eph 6:12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

I love your post and agree with you for the most part. Let me ask you this though.... They are fleeing, but go thru 2 other countries before they get here.... Are they still fleeing?

They are NOT JUST FLEEING!!!! They have two countries to stop in.... They just want to illegally come here!!!!

If I have to flee my house, I go to the nearest place away from the bad place.... If I like your house better I'll go all the way across town and say I had no other place to go even though I passed my neighbor who is not as rich but I could stay there.... So "flee" nothing to do with coming to America!

Yes, because those two Countries do not want them, and will keep them on the move. As well, they will be as persecuted in those Countries as they were in their home Country.

The penalty for illegals in Mexico is 5 years. Believe me, Mexican Prisons are NOT where anyone wants to spend 5 years.....
