I

I agree that they believed. What I don't fully understand is that why do some people say that we are saved the moment we believe and (if we believe this) then these people who heard and received God's Word are saved the moment they believed.

I do not know why more Preachers do not explain the difference Between a JEW in Israel saying "I BELIEVE", and how MANY People in ENGLISH speaking Countries settle for something FAR LESS THAN GENUINE FAITH. That is because in the ENGLISH definition of the Term it is FAR LESS than what the JEW in ISRAEL means by same term. Please look at my post #74,778 and you should have your eyes opened to the WEAKNESS of the English Language. Just click on that numbered link.

That is why Scripture says, If you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved. Romans 10:9-10 Believing in your heart means your innermost self. When you believe something in your innermost self, it becomes the bedrock upon which you live your life. Knowing what is true is pretty important :) When Jesus is your Truth, half the battle is won (y)

It is written that faith comes from hearing the message. May I know if these 4 kinds of soil refer to those who heard the message but differ in their manner of acceptance and endurance. Did they beieve the message or not? Thanks and God bless.

Here is my take on the Parable of the Sower. Only the GOOD SOIL is a Real Born Again Christian, and the Rocky Soil and the Thorn Infested Soil are those that Fall Away, because they NEVER PRODUCE A HARVEST of LOVE FOR HIM. They were NEVER BORN AGAIN.
Her is a Link to it: #74,648 , just click on the numbers.

They Art the Ones how think they are Christians, but find HE SAYS "I NEVER KNEW YOU":

Matthew 7:21-23 (HCSB)
21 Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord!’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but ⌊only⌋ the one who does the will of My Father in heaven.
22 On that day many will say to Me, ‘Lord, Lord, didn’t we prophesy in Your name, drive out demons in Your name, and do many miracles in Your name?’
[.They did those deeds with a WRONG MOTIVE in their Heart, it has to be purely LOVE FOR HIM.]
23 Then I will announce to them, I never knew you! Depart from Me, you lawbreakers!’

He is referring to true Repentance and receiving HIM genuinely,
in an Inner, Personal, LOVE Relationship as your LORD, meaning MASTER.

Therefore that IS what Born Again, actually IS, when the HOLY SPIRIT Births our Human Spirit into ETERNAL LIFE.

That is why this verse in 1 John is ABSOLUTELY TRUE.

1 John 2:19 (HCSB)
19 They went out from us, but they did not belong to us; for if they had belonged to us, they would have remained with us. However, they went out so that it might be made clear that none of them belongs to us.

if society knows the worst possible self that the flesh can be, the society will hate our guts with torches and pitchforks.

so that's what it might be like to become prey

no torches or pitchforks?
we have the privilege of privacy and relative safety
That's also evidence that God loves us

As is your custom, you ignore the whole post.

It's not about making myself "good enough" to receive Him.
because nothing in your post explains what you are talking about with this phrase. actually nothing in your reply to me explains what it means either.

'as is your custom' -- you declined to answer who it is with no wedding clothes and how it is the crippled and lame beggars turned up in these special garments.
i suppose you didn't think about my question at all - as is your custom - because if you had you might see how it cuts through to the heart of the rest of your rhetoric.
or maybe - 'as is your custom' - you did think about it, in a very confused way, didn't understand it, and blew it off as meaningless since it's a scripture post quotes. ((?)) dunno. you ignored it.

but first things first:

I don't believe the whole "Come as you are" religion.
what exactly are you calling 'come as you are' religion?
you said no, you don't make yourself good enough to come first -- so don't you come as you are?
then what in the world do you mean by this un-defined phrase you're throwing around?

Sure.
Paul could only teach what Jesus had already taught the Apostles and what the Apostles taught Paul and what he gleaned from the Holy Spirit working in him to write such important books as Romans.

As you've stated, Romans 9, 10 and 11 is about corporate sanctification and should not be used to prove anything personal...many will use verses such as Romans 9:15 to show that God chooses us and not the other way around (Calvinism teaches this). This should really not be done because Paul is speaking here about the nation of Israel being chosen by God, and not each one of us individually. God chose the Hebrews through which to reveal Himself.

However Paul did include also some very personal verses: For example Romans 10:9 .. if we confess with our mouth Jesus as Lord and believe with our heart, it will result in righteousness. So we have to distinguish which verses are personal and which are corporate and this is not always done.

Also, getting back to Paul - he could only teach what Jesus taught. Jesus taught that HE is the vine through which we get our life. If we are cut off from this vine, we wither and die. This is found in John 15:1-6; specifically 5 and 6. IF ANYONE does NOT ABIDE IN HIM, he (personal) is thrown away as a branch, and dries up, and the dry branches are gathered and cast into the fire and they are burned.

This is the same language used in Romans 11:19-23
11:19 Branches were broken off to make room for the Gentiles (corporate)
11:20 They were broken off for unbelief, but YOU stand by your faith, do not be conceited but fear ('personal)
11:21 If God did not spare the natural branches neither did He spare you. (corporate and personal- because it refers back to what Jesus said in John 15)
11:22 God can be kind or severe: Severe to those who fell (can a nation go to hell? This is personal)
Kindness to us IF WE CONTINUE or else we also will be cut-off. (this sounds very personal to me since a nation, as a whole, will not go to heaven).

This seems clear enough...you may disagree.
What a beautiful, truthful account of the scriptures here. It is much easier to understand the scriptures if a person is seeking to understand them, rather that using them as justification for a religion or religious lifestyle.

Thank you for these sister.

At todays Sermon, Dr. Gil Rugh was teaching Rev. chap. 20. And he possed a question: "Why to you suppose a great number of people choose to follow Satan, after the 1000 year reign with CHRIST on the THRONE of David is finished, and Satan is loosed from the Pit?"

He said, "My guess is, SIN makes you Stupid."
My guess...MEN love DARKNESS rather than the LIGHT...........................and the WICKED go astray from the womb.

This should really not be done because Paul is speaking here about the nation of Israel being chosen by God, and not each one of us individually.
while it has implications concerning nations, this bit for example appears to me very clearly talking about specific individual persons:

Romans 9:9-12
For this [is] the word of promise, At this time will I come, and Sarah shall have a son. And not only [this]; but when Rebecca also had conceived by one, [even] by our father Isaac; (For [the children] being not yet born, neither having done any good or evil, that the purpose of God according to election might stand, not of works, but of him that calleth) It was said unto her, The elder shall serve the younger.

By his own words he condemns himself and his self made religion

The tragic truth and oxymoron....Have a name that speaks of God's grace and then peddle that you MUST KEEP yourself saved......

in my "101" i learned that it is not of hands, not of man, but by Him who shows mercy.

this other 101 class must be a different department...?

ahh, but the mighty studyman will tell you that the thief on the cross already knew and accepted Christ beforehand.

see, I have been interacting with this dude for a long time, many months . until recently, when I put him on ignore.

he has a whole book of excuses and comebacks to defend his religion.

but, give him credit- he has the most well-constructed false dogma I have ever seen

And that can be torn apart as well....the thief was being put to death for murder...NO murderer hath eternal life dwelling in him.....his dogma falls apart at ever seem when viewed through the lens of proper biblical interpretation, context, verbiage, verb tense and the common sense God gave a goose....
