Dude. You keep bashing saying that Calvinists are basically heartless people who condemn others to hell, yet it's YOUR posts that are filled with vitriol. I'm just discussing, and although I agree with much of TULIP I consider myself a Christian not a Calvinist.
I don't so much say that they are 'heartless', but they believe in a God that is 'heartless.'

If a man is not elected to salvation, I believe they say that that man can not be saved. Yet, that man is to be held responsible for something that is impossible for him to do? What can possibly justify that man being tortured in hell for all eternity for something he could not change? Does that even include babies--if they are not elected?

Really, who is 'heartless?'

So you started this thread with a great big chip on your shoulder. You got up this morning and said "hey, I think I'll stir the pot. There's been a little too much peace on the CC boards."
You appear to have no desire to talk about what people believe.

Well, I'll knock the chip off.

Ephesians 2:8 For by grace you have been saved through faith, AND THAT not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, 9 not of works, lest anyone should boast.

So right there we are told where our faith comes from. YOU didn't muster the faith up in your mind. The LORD gave you that faith.

Is the LORD in control? I have heard EVERY Christian in EVERY denomination say this. But how many truly believe it?
. . . NOT OF WORKS! It is not of myself in the sense that I can have anything to do through my own personal merit. Not even Calvinists use that verse to prove their teachings. No one in heaven is going to boast because they earned their way up there.

But I can imagine everybody up there gloating over the fact that they were ELECTED BY GOD - and nobody else! They were so special!

That's it right there, we only believe and are in Christ because of God; 1 Corinthians 1:26-31, and believe only by the power that raised Christ from the dead; Ephesians 1:19, not by some innate power source inside. Note also Romans 10:17. They deny this, and any such belief can never claim Soli Deo Gloria.

You just denounced election, then claimed it later. Not my problem if you don't believe the plain teachings of Scripture, but then do, "just in case." Better get all your t's crossed and i's dotted -- play both sides of the field, "just in case."

The fact rermain's, you simply do not know what you're talking about and every single misinterpretation, straw man, lie, slander in your OP can be readily dismantled.

Yet another thing is you already "know it all" and thence cannot be taught and shown your egregious errors which would make you bow your knee and literally and actually cause you to be Soli Deo Gloria.

To top all that off you condemn men's souls to hell, who also trust Solus Christus, know the Scriptures, and God way more intimately than you. It is ignorant fundamental baptist nonsense, and I was there in the BBFI for years.
BBFI? Gosh, I hope I didn't go to any classes with you . . .

So, go ahead and dismantle the OP and quit already with the personal attacks. You already called me a liar earlier.

You just skipped right over the post the part that said THE FAITH is from God!

Now I'm NOT a Calvinist? Or worse than Calvinist? I can't keep track of what you think I am. I can make it easy for ya. I'M A CHRISTIAN!

Baptist Bible Fellowship was not a Calvinist school (or Arminian), though they did have their issue with the so-called Baptist Bride nonsense, or what I called the 'Baptist Church of Christ." I learned a lot of what I believe in that school back before it was taken over by worldliness.

In your Romans 9:20 state you are borderline blaspheming God, His nature, character and ways. And no more of your drivel you've gotten none of your teaching from creeds, men &c.

You got that hate filled arrogant, separatist holier than thou, others will burn in hell because "they ain't like us'ns" teaching from other fundies, and it is a guarantee your church has a statement of faith, something you ridicule others for implementing.

The thing is any church statement of faith in your circles is cursory compared to say the Second London Baptist Confession of Faith of 1689.

They are no different in their objective, thus having your statement of belief, and having the London 1689 there is zero difference other than your willingness to mock and berate another person for having what you and most other churches have. It's called blind hypocrisy.

All anyone needs is the Bible and the TULIP.

TULIP is just a mnemonic, a popular summarization, but nothing official. And various individuals can have various views of what these points mean, i.e. how to interpret them.

For you to be more certain, you should attack official creeds or catechisms.

It is a gift of God, NOT OF WORKS! Salvation is a free gift to whomsoever will come.

It doesn't say that the FAITH is from God it says it is a gift from God. (not of yourself, it is the gift of God, NOT OF WORKS!)

Will you quit!

It's Arminian, even though they'd deny it, and so are you.

Of course it's not Calvinist, I embraced the Doctrines of Grace after getting away from that ignorance and by reading Scripture and not one word of Calvin himself. Soli Deo Gloria! But of course, according to you, I'm hell bound.

Uh, yea . . . the Bible is, and it contradicts Calvinism at every instant. Calvin was a sinner in need of a Saviour. I wonder if he ever did get saved.
Did not Calvin believe in infant baptism for regeneration? Most of what he believed lined up with the RCC.

You all know what? I posted my opinion piece and you are free to disagree, but how about we limit the personal attacks. I'll not be responding to any more vitriol.

No, I have a Bible. The Bible is not a counterfeit (well, some of them are) . . .
Gotta be careful with a lot of these new versions. I like the KJV the best. The new versions are based on the greek text that was done under the SUPERVISION OF THE VATICAN! Its in the preface of the novum testamentum gracae!!!
BOYCOTT Wycliff bible translations. They have made a moslem friendly translation that CHANGES the words Son and Father! Even the great commission has been changed and Jesus is only called MESSIAH, never son of God!

He believed in sprinkling babies!

The thing is, all the mainline denominational churches are the illegitimate children of the Catholic church and they are returning to their Mama and their Holy Papa. During the Tribulation you won't even know the difference any more.

Oh the hypocrisy! You condemn many to hell but now want to stop personal attacks?

You need to man up and apologize for your ignorant condemnation of souls.

You want me to quit?

Isn't this what you were looking for? Debate from Calvinists? See your problem is you have this nice tidy neat box, where you put people in called Calvinism. Then you want to shoot holes in the box. Problem is, I aint in the box!

But this is just fascinating this post of yours.

YOUR faith doesn't come from God? WOW!!! Where does your faith come from? Didn't God create you? Do you just muster the faith out of your own soul? That sounds like boasting to me.

You're closer to catholicism compared to any reformed believer.

Yes, the faith of Jesus Christ is given to those who believe. The faith of Christ is a gift.

Galatians 2:16 Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.

Why did we believe the gospel? That we might be justified by the faith of Jesus Christ. The faith of Jesus Christ was displayed in His obedience even unto death, the death of the cross. Again, the faith of Jesus Christ is a gift to those who believe. This gift justifies the believer.
