I guess I'm asking all the heated questions. lol Oops. My bad. I'm just really wanting to learn, and honestly not wanting to start debates. I'm open to ALL perspectives here.
You're doing everything right. It's far better to ask a question and inadvertently spark an old debate than wonder in silence. :)

With regard to your home, there are procedures for cleansing it, but they are contingent on you at least and preferably your husband as well being Christians.

As you mentioned you are new to Christianity and have not yet committed your life to Christ, the first step to dealing with the demonic activity going on in your home (since that is what it is) is to get your life right with Christ. Once that is in order, you can move forward.

I agree with everything above. It has been edited to exclude certain things.
All that means is you have twisted someone else's words. Don't say you agree when you don't. Be man enough to put forth your opinion without twisting another's.

Do your own work.

Okay, and as far as statues and other things - I have angel statues, and my husband collects dragons. I also have some fairies and unicorns. I collect crystals too. Are those considered bad?

Have you ever been involved in the occult? By that I mean anything involving new age belief systems, practicing magic or anything (not that I would wish to seem nosey). But sometimes those things can open a door...

Twisting would be claiming to agree and not admitting that I edited your words. I did put forth my opinion: what I quoted was really good. I'm not going to debate the rest in this thread. :)

When you take away what I said and then say you agree, your are twisting and distorting what I said. If your'e too lazy to write your own, don't resort to a paste job on another's post.

Most "things" are inherently neutral. Some were made with specific intent to serve a spiritual purpose; these are the ones that would need to be dealt with. Crystals are just chunks of rock, but they do have some fascinating physical properties (look up "crystal radio").

Usually the problem is not with the object itself, but in the connections people attribute to it. Jesus knows exactly what is "clean" or not. He can guide you; the best any of us can do is say "maybe". :)

No, not really. I've read a lot of spiritual books on various topics, just to educate myself on world religions. But when I'm done with books, I usually donate them. I try not to keep a lot of clutter around. I've just always loved dragons, fairies, unicorns, crystals, stuff like that. Solely for the beauty and whimsical nature of them.

Understood. From what you described within your OP, I would say that that house was probably "inhabited" before you arrived. A lot of old houses are. I am no expert. However, the road to deliverance starts with finding saving faith in Christ. I will pray for you and your family.

You know, honestly - I just remembered. In my basement, somewhere in a box, there is a Ouija board. I was in a bunch of board games we bought from a yard sale, and I was meaning to toss it when we moved in, but just left it in a box in the basement. Do you think that could have something to do with this? I was going to toss it, burn it, something - but I was told to never do that, as it will anger some kind of bad spirit. I can't believe this just ocurred to me now....

I would venture to say that that indicates that the people who owned the house before you (or others) engaged in occultic practices. Ouija boards are NOT to be trifled with. I would strongly suggest you seek help from a pastor or a preacher on this matter. I myself, have little experience in this field. However, as I have said, the first step starts with you and finding Christ.

As an example, my own sister found her house in the country "inhabited" as it were. They called in a group of believers from the church (a spiritual SWAT team) and had them go around the place and pray over it, and rededicate it to God. Guess what? No more "activity".

Finally, as believers we have authority in Christ over the powers of darkness. However, outside of him we have nothing but our own strength and we will lose if we try to take on the enemy.

Okay, that's some good advice. I'm not sure what the people who lived here before me did, as this house had many previous owners. The Ouija board was in a big box of board games we bought at a yard sale. We got a good deal, as there were some vintage ones in there. We didn't realize the box contained a board game style Ouija Board, as we didn't go though the entire box. We only discovered it once we got home. A friend of mine said not to toss it in the garbage or burn it. I didn't know what to do with the stupid thing. Then we moved into this house, and those were moved here with us. So it could very well be my fault, and not the previous owners. But yes, thank you for the advice on how to rid our house of the weird happenings. It used to scare me, but after almost 4 years, I'm honestly more annoyed. I've told the "ghosts" to go to hell a few times. Especially when my things go missing, only to turn up days or weeks later.

It might be a common denominator. If you say you bought it at a yard sale and it was in a box you brought home, then that could very well be the reason. I don't think getting rid of it would be the answer at this point (although it might)... I'm not sure. I would get advice from someone who knows what they are doing. It's a bit like defusing a bomb there.

Thanks so much. I'll reach out to someone who goes to church in my community and ask what they think too.

Don't mess around with ouija boards. I learned a lesson the hard way when I bought a used one at a yard sale. I only paid like, 50 cents or a dollar for it. Took it home, started using it and asking it questions. All of a sudden, everything went off. The tv, lights, electricity, EVERYTHING. And it was a clear day so no reason for anything to pop off. Scared the sheetz outta me and I got rid of the ouija board that same day.. haven't touched one since, and that was back in 1991..

Did you throw it in the bin? Burn it? How is best to destroy it?
