Been an active participant here in the forums now for a few months and now I have a question.

Hey listen, this isn't me seated up on a another self righteous box, a moral high ground, ranting, lecturing, and complaining, playing a moderator or a mom.

First let me admit to grabbing popcorn when I come across a topic that seems to stir up some battles. Those are juicy ones, calling to pick a side. But It isn't just on those kinds of threads, I see it happen in all kinds of discussions. Bam and pow, and holy batman, kaplow, tossing divisive accusations and insinuations, then getting the like in response. Folks reading, they, sometimes me, jump in the ring; loyalty and chivalry are beautiful things.

I clearly admit that this fascinates me too, to the point that perhaps it is a sin. Listen, I'm just curious, if we never saw a calm discussion get out of hand, become heated and even offensive to some, would we like it?

Is part of this forum’s appeal found in the verbal discourse centered in conflict, or even attempts for conflict resolution? Do you think complete unity and harmony besides being completely unrealistic and unnatural for us, would it also be boring? Do we want a little drama (emphasize on the little, because a lot isn't entertaining, not for me, not in the least)? In our fallen world, we like watching and participating in opposition. We see it in sports and we see it everywhere. It seems to appeal to our flesh, but do you think it can be good? Even Adonai is at odds with the evil one. Our Abba could get it over with, squashing satan's existence; but He chooses to keep the opposition alive, calling for us to pick a side. Maybe this topic or question also offends. It certainly is not my intent. But if you have a moment...

Be honest, please, I am curious...

I do not believe for a second that Adonai is at odds. He has already won the victory! With time, we are given the chance to understand who our Father is through building a personal relationship. Thats a gift. The Lord's return was set in the beginning. He knew even then when the harvest would be ripe.
Our conflict should always be against our enemy, not each other. Jesus left us with two commandments to hang all the others from. Love Him and love one another. Uplifting one another should be our goal. Turmoil and conflict is the evil of our flesh when we thirst for it.

I was kinda hoping this was about physical fighting lol but nope, anyway I don't think, at least for the most part, that the drama is exciting especially if it's about something important. I tend to just want to help cuz i don't want people walking aimlessly or going in the wrong direction so yea. There are two things you should take into account: 1. Im a guy we aren't like women you guys tend to like that kind of stuff. 2.My life is full of arguments and drama. If it's something more playful maybe but if it's serious i don't enjoy it but maybe that's just me.

Your screen name should be voice of reason, but that would leave you lacking humility, which completely doesn't agree with who you present. I respect your mind and response that pointed to my putting God and His design in a lowered, fleshly position. You have a heart for our Heavenly Master, that wants us to pay forward His loving and merciful attributes.

It is very much a matter of His purpose of me, and I have chosen to serve where He leads...but I have a feeling you have some prophetic sense and know this.

God is a Man of War. Shouldn't we be? (Ex. 15:3)

Hahaha yup, I have to agree, sometimes or to a point anyway. I guess, I love it when we can find peaceful resolution, then the drama doesn't seem in vain.

Hmmmmm, good point as long as our weapons used are not for mass destruction. Hahaha.
If youngsters in my family are or were physically fighting over something, I do not try and encourage anyone to stop it right away. Let them fight it out. They are in a protected environment with you watching. If it gets out of hand, and one turns to a hurtful weapon well, yes, it is time to step in.

But they learn to deal with conflict. To stand up to it. To fight against a wrong. That way when they get out into the world, conflict is not foreign to them. Conflict and fighting is not foreign to them. They know what to expect and are willing to stand against it.

I believe God is the same with us. His Church is of those who have known conflict and war. We didn't cut our teeth in peace and harmony. We cut them in sin, conflict, war, and suffering. Though we will always know peace with our God, who knows what lies in the future in eternity. God is a Man of War, period. Not just during a war. And His people are fashioned by Him to be a people of war also.

So, to me, conflict and fighting are healthy. And necessary.

I suppose this is definitely a silver lining stance, a pragmatic stance. I will agree, as long as it is used wisely and not used merely to nurture attitudes that feed off of contention, chaos and conflict. I suppose you are correct, once again, and like with everything else balance needs to be applied. Conflict allows us the opportunity to master, emotions and responses to line up with our Master.

I hear brother what you are saying. I agree that we stand with God's armor and in His Spirit to fight against the darkness that seeks to kill and destroy. Those that believe they are invincible, think they will not burn, and they don't need God...they need to see the power of His wrath and fear Him.
At the same time I am led by the Holy Spirit to show the broken His truth through love and kindness. Certain people already suffer from war and conflict but would be drawn easier by the message of "good news" because God is good and loves them so much that He would become flesh and spill His blood in order to save them.
I believe God gives each of us the lessons and grows the fruit in accordance to the work He has laid for those that seek to do His will. Both approaches to minister are necessary.

Just an example...there is a lot of fighting and conflict in a particular forum I'm thinking of. Some who ridicule, laugh at believers, and TROLLS might enjoy that environment to feed their flesh and I hope God uses something to pull them into the conversation. Many come in to CC going through pain and loss...looking for hope...answers. They wont stick around that environment and may think th that we act and treat each other horribly. Truth is sometimes we do. Where does that lost person go? What have we accomplished?
