I have always had the gift of teaching. My father was a teacher, and I learned to teach from him, because he taught us everywhere we went and everything we did. Then, I was trained as a teacher in university, and taught elementary school for quite a few years. Finally, God also gave me with the gift teaching, including Sunday School and Ladies Groups. To say nothing of teaching on-line! LOL

After I went to seminary, God also called me to be a preacher. I am not the lead pastor, but I get called on quite frequently to preach. My pastor has also mentored me in this.

Another gift I have is pastoring - as in shepherding people. I always try to help people who are hurting and point them in the right direction. I run a bipolar group on FB, and it has been amazing being able to help people, but also express my faith, and how God has helped me so much, particularly after I got RA.

I often counsel people here, who need help. God has given me the gift, but also training and a lot of resources to help people on their journey with Christ. My goal is to produce better training and materials to help people who are disaffected from church, either because they have been hurt, or because they are physically unable to get to church, or they are not saved. I am working on my PhD towards this, although right now I am in so much pain, I may have to drop out, if I can't get my rheumatologist back on track to a medication I stopped five years ago.

Please pray my doctor won't rush off in the wrong direction, counting joints, instead of listening to what is hurting, and a solution. And for insurance to allow it. I can't continue on the way I am.

I do not know I agree with your statement God uses our strengths my friend. Moses had a speech problem, David was a tiny lad, the 12 disciples were unlearned, just to name a few. God used 300 people with Gideon to slay a multitude. Samson took a jawbone and killed 3,000 Philistines. God takes our weaknesses and uses them through us, showing us what we could never do on our own, He did through us. That may be the case in some people(God using their strengths) but I do not think that is in every case.
Very true Sackcloth-N-Ashes . I a former atheist recovered alcoholic- addict have been so blessed to be able to reach out to theses folks. What was a great weakness in me our Lord has turned it into something good . When I tell folks trying to recover from addiction about the Gospel. It’s not how I look , well dressed or how polished the words are . What gets them is after I tell them of the life death and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ . I share how a down and out guy like me was saved . It is Is odd how a drunk or a addict seem to only trust a drunk or addict. So God dose use our weaknesses for good .
Blessings

I'm reading my responses from the last to the first. Now I want to do a study on gifts, because it is clear to me, I am not fully aware. His strength in our weakness is a gift so we can not boast, eh? I mean basically those two verses can apply, and can be accurately stated, looking at the entirety of His message, right, concerning salvation and gifts, right?

I do agree with what you said about the woman representing the relationship between the church and Yahweh. Hmmmm, thanks for your time given because you gave me some good places to dig in on the many different gifts and how they we can see them used today, and how He gives them and helps mold them.[/QUOTE

Hi thanks for the reply and patience the first and what I consider the hardest work according to the love chapter or the second aspect love is kind will not have a affect.

Sorry again for the rambling

Exactly as he who works in us, with us to both will and do His good pleasure it is very humbling. No room to boast. After that verse in Philippians 2:12 he informs us... Do all things without murmurings and disputings :Made me wonder why would a person murmur and its not like any one is perfect?

I think in one sense we are designed to look for approval but is makes it more difficult when we walk by faith the unseen .As one of the better things that accompany salvation he reminds us in Hebrews 6 he will not forget the labor we offer towards His name. This I believe helps to comfort oneself when we might feel alone.

His gifts would seem to be duel in the working out. Like the example in Romans 1. Where Paul uses the theme" the two shall become one" or as God sends us out two by two with two representing the church, male and female. Or the father and Son working together in prefect submission and harmony as one... which does bring us the peace of God that surpasses our human understanding . Ne need faith the unseen to believe in that way believing is faith.

Paul says as the Spirit of Christ works in him to satisfies the need of the Roman sect according to their request. Paul was moved as a gift of God therefore imparting the two fold gift. God sending him and they receiving the prophecy. The Holy Spirit comforting both by the mutual faith of Christ that comes from hearing God that worked in both. The gift is never one sided in that way

Making request, if by any means now at length I might have a prosperous journey by the will of God to come unto you.
For I long to see you, that I may impart unto you some spiritual gift, to the end ye may be established; That is, that I may be comforted together with you by the mutual faith (Christ's) both of you and me. Romans1:10=12

Thank you for the kind words! My doctor is moving me to a new biologic, and he is open to me remaining on prednisone, forever. So, that will take a month or more to get going, but I am doing so badly now, it won't seem like much. Thanks to anyone who prayed.

Do everything without grumbling or arguing (Phil 2:14)

I hate obeying that verse
why do I even have the eyes to see this verse anyway
I hate being accountable to this verse
this verse is so burdensome
attitude can't be controlled, we are not robots
this verse is such a chore to obey
God is such a sla...
etc.

is this a joke?
of course we can control our attitude and learn when to keep our mouths shut -
no one's perfect, it takes hard work, but Christ expects a lot from us...
