That is my question. What are our rewards? Can we choose the ones we want? Does the bible say anything about what they are?? :) Answers with scripture are welcomed..

One crown is promised for those who love His appearing:

2Ti 4:8 Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.

I believe martyrs will be very high up there! For sure!

Well.......we know the following...and beyond the following I suppose it is all surmising, guessing and possibilities.....

a. Jesus has prepared us a dwelling place in his kingdom <--translated mansion by the King Jimmy Translators

b. There are 5 crowns that can be won found in the following
  • 1) The incorruptible crown: This is also called the imperishable crown. ...
  • 2) The Crown of Rejoicing: To those who faithfully are witnesses to the saving grace of God and leads souls to Jesus. ...
  • 3) The Crown of Life: ...
  • 4} The Crown of Righteousness: ...
  • 5) The Crown of Glory:

c. To hear the word, "Well done thou good and faithful servant.

d. Reward comes from the word "MISTHOS" which mean pay or wages....so we are also earning WAGES as we speak by those things we do for the cause of Christ....NOTE--->SALVATION IS NOT A REWARD FOR SERVICE RENDERED, it is a freely given irrevocable gift based upon grace through faith.

It is also worthy to NOTE that the prophets, saints and those who fear God, both young and old, are rewarded at the 7th trump of Revelation 11:15-19

15 And the seventh angel sounded; and there were great voices in heaven, saying, The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ; and he shall reign for ever and ever.

16 And the four and twenty elders, which sat before God on their seats, fell upon their faces, and worshipped God,

17 Saying, We give thee thanks, O Lord God Almighty, which art, and wast, and art to come; because thou hast taken to thee thy great power, and hast reigned.

18 And the nations were angry, and thy wrath is come, and the time of the dead, that they should be judged, and that thou shouldest give reward unto thy servants the prophets, and to the saints, and them that fear thy name, small and great; and shouldest destroy them which destroy the earth.

19 And the temple of God was opened in heaven, and there was seen in his temple the ark of his testament: and there were lightnings, and voices, and thunderings, and an earthquake, and great hail.

No mortal mind is able to even come close to imagine what awaits us all from our Father.

Here is one aspect:

1 Thessalonians 2:19 [nasb] -

"For who is our hope or joy or crown [stephanos] of exultation [/rejoicing]? Is it not even you, in the presence of our Lord Jesus at His coming?"

What if some of us don't want a crown? What if I'd rather have a log cabin by the lake with lots of animals and an infinite supply of bread for the birds??

The Lord is my Shepard , I shall not want .

After exhaustive study of this verse by a Teacher at an Stanford University level , a more exact wording of the Hebrew is , " the Lord is my Shepard , I have no wants ."

We faithe into Christ by a personal surrender to Him and a life inspired by such surrender . If we desire something in return for such surrender , that's not a true surrender , but a business deal or some kind of vending machine transaction .

Check your faithing .

“And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness …”

“Unto whom it was revealed, that not unto themselves, but unto us they did minister the things,
which are now reported unto you by them that have preached the gospel unto you with the
Holy Spirit sent down from heaven; which things the angels desire to look into” (1 Peter 1:12).

God describes the angels in brilliant detail throughout the Bible.
The angels are remarkable, and are mesmerized, IN AWE, of man’s potential.
But You are destined to become greater than the angels.

“As for the likeness of the living creatures, their appearance was like burning coals of fire,
and like the appearance of lamps: it went up and down among the living creatures; and the
fire was bright, and out of the fire went forth lightning” (Ezekiel 1:13).

The angels dart from place to place like LIGHTNING.
They radiate overwhelming FIRE. Yet they marvel at YOUR FUTURE!

“And I saw another mighty angel come down from heaven, clothed with a cloud: and a rainbow
was upon his head, and his face was as it were the sun, and his feet as pillars of fire” (Rev 10:1

It is hard to even picture a being with such power and glory!

“And he had in his hand a little book open: and he set his right foot upon the sea,
and his left foot on the earth” “And cried with a loud voice, as when a lion roareth:
and when he had cried, seven thunders uttered their voices” (verse 3).

Angels exude resounding, thunderous POWER.
But God says ‘You Are My Son’, something the angeles was not offered.

“For to what angel did God ever say, ‘Thou art my son, to-day have I become thy father’?
Or again, ‘I will be a father to him, and he shall be a son to me’?”

Even Jesus Christ was once a little while lower than the angels.(Hebrews 2:9-10).
The Captain of our salvation subjected Himself to that situation to bring the sons of God to glory!

“For both he that sanctifieth and they who are sanctified are all of one: for which cause he is not
ashamed to call them brethren” (verse 11). Jesus Christ happily calls us His Family.

We are all brothers and sisters, sons of God. Christ is our elder brother; through His sacrifice,
He enabled the rest of us to be born as spirit beings into the God Family one day.

He was the eternal Word who lived for eternity serving as the Spokesman for God the Father.
While He walked the Earth as a flesh-and-blood man, He declared the Father (John 1:18).

The gospel message is all about FAMILY, and how to enter His coming Kingdom on earth.
-

Satan has enormous power, but you have access to far more power. 2 Kings 6:15-17
As you fight to submit to God and use His power to conquer the devil, this great angelic
army of God is on your side! These fiery warriors protect God’s people.

Just like the young man in this passage, pray that God will open your eyes to see the
marvelous power that is backing you each day. Ask for the faith to BELIEVE in your
potential—a potential that is greater than the angels.

God seeks a family relationship with mortal human beings now, later to be spirit beings.
Angels were not, and never can be, begotten and then BORN of God!
No angel can ever become a literal member of the Famly of God.

“To what angel did he ever say, ‘Sit at my right hand,
till I make your enemies a foot-stool for your feet’?”

“Are they not all ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation?”
“For unto the angels hath he not put in subjection the world to come, whereof we speak”

“But one in a certain place testified, saying, What is man, that thou art mindful of him? or
the son of man, that thou visitest him? Thou madest him a little [while] lower than the angels;
thou crownedst him with glory and honour, and didst set him over the works of thy hands:

Thou hast put all things in subjection under his feet. For in that he put all in subjection under him,
he left nothing that is not put under him. But now we see not yet all things put under him”
-

“But chiefly them that walk after the flesh in the lust of uncleanness, and despise government.
Presumptuous are they, selfwilled, they are not afraid to speak evil of dignities. Whereas angels,
which are greater in power and might, bring not railing accusation against them before the Lord”

God tells us to be careful to respect the angels since they are current “greater in power and might”
Very soon, mortal humans will receive the power of the angels—and much more!

The crown of life is found in James 1:2, Rev 2:10.

The crown of righteousness is found in 2 Tim 4:8.

The crown of glory is found in 1 Peter 5:4.

So amazing to me that we enjoy the blessings in this life and God stores up for us the crowns described in Scripture.

What if some of us don't want a crown?
In Rev 4:10, the elders cast their crowns before the throne and say Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created (Rev 4:11).

Will we do the same and cast our crowns before the throne?

I should think "want [verb]" (in Psalm 23:1) means "to have lack." "I shall NOT want" means I shall have no "lack" [lacking nothing I need].

As for "want/desire," I should think that Psalm 37:4 explains this:

"4 Delight thyself also in the Lord: and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart", as in, He shall plant desires in our heart (that are consistent with HIS desires). These are all good. ;)

I didn't say anything at all about getting something in return for my "surrender" to Jesus. I merely want to know what our rewards will be, in additions to the crowns. :) And my "faithing" is just fine, thanks..

from Bible Hub:

"b. absolute be in want, want Psalm 23:1; Proverbs 13:25; Nehemiah 9:21. " [compare these]

Maybe you think they were becoming so godly they no longer "wanted" clothing?? lol

Or did you refer to Psalm 37:4 where "give" means "sets" ("places").
You will not win an argument with a false teacher that makes up his own verbiage and then supplants it for the actual definitions of known words.........he likes to whip words out of thin air, then claim some studied source and undercuts the bible by his own spiritualized drivel.....

Be careful...read that embellished imaginary word to fast without looking at it and one might end up in line at Walmart picking up GAS-X
