the Holy Spirt in the life of the believer is to lead and Guide and bring to rememberance all Jesus has said ? the Word of god is how that happens . I do not believe every christian has the gift of tongues. I do see where in the word of God this seems to be one of two manisfation of one being baptzied in the Holy Spirit . Thus the initial evidence doctrine. weather they do it after as in 1cor 12 to 14 speaks about , I do not see that.
whether instead of weather

If you claim that a doctrine which was not taught during the apostolic time and also not in churchhistory, but since 1901, then I dont would say its biblical, although its mentioned in the bible. Many people/ groups teach doctrines based of the bible. But i would not say they are biblical.

that is the false narrative. Only ignorant people would think the revelation is new meaning In addition to what is already written, the problem is the understanding of what a person comes to KNOW and when they come to know it. That is new to them but not to God who has enabled them to understand. 1cor 14:38 applies here .
Perhaps you could clarify: are you saying what I wrote is a false narrative, or what Garee wrote is a false narrative?

No you cannot say t was not taught the context of evidence is seen in the verses which the empowerment happened. They who were empowered with the Holy Spirit did speak in Tongues or Prophesied . the Doctine of the Trinity is not even mentioned in the word of God are you saying that is not to be taught?
Yes it was tuaght in Church histroy and recorded too. How can one know this ? because the Book of Acts was used 90AD to 1901 FYI
The Fellowship who saw thi9s in the Bible in 1901 acted on it.

I do not think you were suggesting anything new were you? the understanding of some who think when one get revlation from the Holy Spirit it is adding to the word of God . it is new to the person but confirmed by the word of God

I am not talking about the trinity. I was talking about the baptism with the Holy Spirit and as evidence for that the gift of speaking in tongues as it is teached by the pentecostal and charimatic movements. Thats the point. But you are right we will not agree with this. So long nobody can Proof this teaching from the scripture I dont Can See this as an from God given Doctrine. Whoever is behind this, its not the Holy Spirit.

Tongues is sign against those who refused to hear prophecy in any language.
If you feel that way, then you should not reject the gift of prophecy out of hand when it occurs. Instead, you should obey scripture which teaches quench not the Spirit, Despise not prophesyings. Prove all things. Hold fast to that which is good.

As you admitted earlier, there have been many prophecies that were not added to the Bible. Arguing that modern prophesying is added to the book of Revelation is therefore an illogical argument. If Saul, Samuel, or Micaiah could give prophecies not found in the Bible, then it makes no sense to say that those who prophesy are automatically adding to the Bible.

He did not make a noise and say go find a private interpretation as if we were to trust the witness of men and call that a personal relationship as two walking to together in a agreement . No sign gifts.
Your list of ideas strung together do not make sense to me. But I suspect I disagree with it. The Bible teaches that the Spirit give gifts to members of the body of Christ. You should not try to interpret Peter's statement about no prophecy of the scripture being of private interpretation to contradict Paul's teaching on spiritual gifts, or Peters on teachings in I Peter 4.

I would agree it mean more "so be it". Which would be in rereference not to add and subtract to the book of prophecy the Bible.

It some a liitle odd that people would make a statement "so be it" if they do not add something like if it is the will of God?
The Strong's concordance translates the word as 'verily, truly.'

'Amen' does NOT men 'don't add anything.' Do you think if someone prays and says 'amen', he's really saying, "You'd better not pray anymore"?

You are wrong it is not a teaching of Pentecostals and charismatics but from the word of God as recorded in the book of Acts and many other scriptures. In addition, it is from the Holy Spirit because scripture shows it is. I like how you’re wording too

So long nobody can Proof this teaching from the scripture"

Then you again suggest the Holy Spirit has nothing to do with what you don't agree with. It is the Holy Spirit. And you have not provided any biblical refute to the scriptures , historical witnesses, and Church history.

"whatever is behind this."

it's proven, the Holy Spirit is still saving and healing and empowering those who have placed their trust in Christ. Millions have experienced the wonderful blessing and gifting of the Holy Spirit. I thank God every day for His empowerment and I have seen many empowered by God. Your opinion is not authoritative nor does it disqualify the very word of God :)

I have seen many in here suggest demons, and devils pulling Doctrines from pagans to disprove those who have seen in the word of God and acted on it in context to the Holy Spirit.

tongues are of the devil they say yet they use doctrines of devil and pagans to make their point. They don't use the Bible lol.

The only thing they got is it has passed away with the last Apostle and the Creation of the bible . However, they cannot even prove that. lol.

No that is not what I think. I think amen means verily, truly, amen, so be it.
The it as in "so be it" pointing to the subject.

18 For I testify unto every man that heareth the words" of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book: And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.He which testifieth these things saith, Surely I come quickly. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus. Revelation 22:18-20

The first Amen in lieu of the warning
The second and last it "so be it" in respect with the grace of Christ with us

The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen.Revelation 22:18

The end of the story.Revlation is still the last book.

The perfect or complete has come. What he had in part up till the last Amen we are to look for no more. The existing is all that is required to have a living relationship with God. The Elect because they will not go above that which is ritten cannot be deceived by those who add or substract. He has warned the Elect beforehand .

Acts 10v44-47: "While Peter was still speaking these words, the Holy Spirit fell upon all those who heard the word. And those of the circumcision who believed were astonished, as many as came with Peter, because the gift of the Holy Spirit had been poured out on the Gentiles also. For they heard them speak with tongues and magnify God. Then Peter answered, "Can anyone forbid water, that these should not be baptized who have received the Holy Spirit just as we have?"

Acts 11v15,17: " And as I began to speak, the Holy Spirit fell upon them, as upon us at the beginning...If therefore God gave them the same gift as He gave us...(with Acts 2v4): " And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance."

Well, I only tryed to explain why I dont trust in this teaching. Our Lord is the One who is in charge to judge.
And for one thing. How many Oneess pentecostals exist? Around 23 Millions? Are they right in their teaching? Mass is not the measure to be right ore wrong.
I would be glad if I am wrong in my view. But till today nobody could convince me with the scripture.
Dont worry this is my last post regarding this. Origin I only wanted to reply waggles who claimed that the true baptism with the Holy Spirit has only the person who speaks in tongue.
I know that I have the Holy Spirit. According his view I have him not.
Have a good night and may our Lord bless you.

Thanks. Still not sure I'm getting your meaning clearly... oh well. :)

I do believe that God still speaks to individuals... by whatever means including but not limited to Scripture. What seems to elude Garee is that the Holy Spirit can and does speak to people about the circumstances of their lives... situations about which the Bible says nothing. These "revelations" as he calls them are not intended by God to be additions to Scripture, and I have never heard of anyone claiming that such a message should be added to Scripture. The caveat is simply this: if it contradicts Scripture, then disregard it.

I suspect that the enemy has a field day speaking to people who don't know the Bible well and tricking them into thinking it is God. However, Scripture gives us the strategies to defeat the enemy's wiles. We should not be surprised that the deceiver is still at work, but we should also not prejudge every extra-biblical communication as deceptive.

If, as Garee seems to suggest, God doesn't communicate at all outside of Scripture, then we are limited to a relationship with a book and should reject everything else, lest we be deceived.

My God is bigger than that. :)

Ok, so what am I missing in my Christian life?
I do not speak in tongues.
I have never spoken in tongues.
I have never had any desire to speak in tongues.

SO, what am I missing?
What is the benefit?
Does this make me less a Christian?
Does this make me less righteous?
Can some one please answer these questions?
