No, it's actually correct and you're incorrect. This has happened for centuries you just don't know church history. Your little book just doesn't have that information. But then again you just go on thoughtless rants when you respond. Oh well...that's who you are...the straw man maker.
Details then. If you are such an expert on it let the board know all about it. How did the Church get run by atheists for centuries.

Where did you go?
Are you talking about the Middle Ages when nobles could buy a second son a place in the hierarchy of the church? If so you just make the assumption that all of them were not Christian. In some cases probably but to make that blanket statement about all of them goes beyond facts known. You just expose your ignorance by making that blanket statement.

What did ministers argue about during the days of Whitefield?

Whitefield demanded, as does Scripture, a certain thing about ministers in the pulpit.

Since you know everything, do tell us what requirements were being debated. You can Google this, perhaps, and find the answer and make pretense you knew this all along.

But the fact remains, you do not know these details or you wouldn't be arguing your current belief as if this is only taking place here and now.

Oh, it looks like you're trying to Google, and, as per usual, you make false accusations. Why is it you bear false witness day by day on here? I've made no blanket statement, man you're dense and filled with slander. Wow.

I wasn't sure if Cortez landed in Florida or Mexico but I'm from Cabrillo beach. About 3rd grade local history. I was only talking about continental USA not North America.
I live in Florida too. I landed here in July 1985.

I had several on ignore for a long while, took some off. Bro, it wasn't even hours until I had to go ahead and do the same thing -- still offering their disparaging remarks, hate, lies, malignancy. It is almost unbelievable. I put this dude back on ignore. Hope you all are having a wonderful day of thanks my brother!

Thank the Lord you wised up brother.....
I might of been a judaizer, but you know one thing jews DONT do is worship statues / saints / Mary.

Thats one thing. You can deceive a jew many-a-ways, but worshiping a statue is NOT one of them. That lesson has been learned :D

Thank God for calibob getting saved out of that!

Well I landed my Yamaha Seca 750 here in Oklahoma in 2010. Maybe my screen name should be changed to Calokie. That almost sounds Native American enough for Comanche County. :LOL:

Who puts creeds over the Bible? If you are referring to me you ignore when creeds were created bibles were very expensive and rare. A scribe took months copying one by hand. Therefore the early elders created the creeds to say what a Christian must believe. It seems it is impossible for you to understand what it was like without the printing press. You just keep ranting your idiotic Bible only when back then it was extremely hard to get a copy of the Bible for only a short time. You really need to take a long hard look at what you would do without any printed material including the Bible. That was the way it was back then!!!

Stick it in your ear!!

Since the RCC was was deemed the official religion of the UNHOLY Roman Empire and the Pope was elevated to THE ONLY authority on spiritual matters, promoted to demigod. Greed, ambition, ego and sexual perversion have ridden roughshod over people who can barely understand the gifts that grace has bestowed upon them.

I only use the Vatican as the most glaring example but like any thing else it has been copied and tweaked a little so the names could be changed. Take away the saving grace and faith and replace them with a new set of rules that did not in context come from Jesus and what did we get? A man made religion that worships traditions, rules and ceremonies. False doctrines and dogmas. And people seeking to please or fit in with some established order of things. Our righteousness is pure dung.

I can't even blame the Devil because he can only appeal the inherent ego, greed, narcissism, lusts and paranoia that we already have. We've had them a since before he tempted Adam and Eve. All religious fanatics need to wake up. The law is a curse and religion won't save you. Belief in Jesus is freedom from religion. @Lillywolf you know where the passage is, please share it again. The church of 2019 AD is not the same as the upper room on the Pentecost. Stop worshiping it!

There's a seemingly infinite number of ways into the lake of fire. Only 1 way to the kingdom of God. I know I'm not preaching to the illiterate here if you don't have a Bible and can't buy or find one and live in a nation where they are allowed, I'm fairly confident I can find you one. And if your vision impaired Charlton Hesston used to dictate the NIV on cassettes. I'm sure something like that is still available. And before you critics accuse me of trying to start an apostacy I'm not advocating to stop gathering in worship in worship, praise and sharing. Let your light shine but only worship God. matt5-14-16 liz.png

I wouldn't go that far. Then they'd have one less chance to hear the truth and it getting through.
Creedal Christianity is idol worship. Christ said no such thing and invoked no creed. That's why there are those who are in the spirit of Christ that know if creed need be mentioned then, no creed BUT Christ is the one and only one. Pun intended. ;)

First it is not Creedal worship. You have not given any Biblical reason to reject what they say. Do you know what they say? Here is the Apostles Creed. Refute it please. Keep in mind the purpose of the creed is to define what a Christian must believe.

Apostles Creed

I believe in God, the Father almighty,
creator of heaven and earth.
I believe in Jesus Christ, God's only Son, our Lord,
who was conceived by the Holy Spirit,
born of the Virgin Mary,
suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, died, and was buried;
he descended to the dead.
On the third day he rose again;
he ascended into heaven,
he is seated at the right hand of the Father,
and he will come to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit,
the holy universal Church,
the communion of saints,
the forgiveness of sins,
the resurrection of the body,
and the life everlasting. Amen.

Interesting how you change the words. Since the Roman Catholic church is the likeliest author of the creed (at the Council of Milan), when they say the holy Catholic church, they mean Roman Catholic. To deny that truth is to show a great deal of ignorance in how the Roman Catholic church had long viewed herself as the only means to salvation. If Protestants changed Catholic to catholic to be a closer representation of truth, it does not alter the fact that what it meant originally was something quite different.

Here is the text as sold on a card by Catholic Online:
Notice how Catholic is capitalized by Catholics...

I believe in God,
the Father Almighty,
Creator of heaven and earth,
and in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord,
who was conceived by the Holy Spirit,
born of the Virgin Mary,
suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, died and was buried;
He descended into hell;
on the third day He rose again from the dead;
He ascended into heaven,
and is seated at the right hand of God the Father Almighty;
from there He will come to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit,
the Holy Catholic Church,
the communion of Saints,
the forgiveness of sins,
the resurrection of the body,
and life everlasting.

Amen.
