Colossians 1:26-27

26 Even the mystery which hath been hid from ages and from generations, but now is made manifest to his saints:

27 To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory:

I have to wonder if Christians ever give thought to the mystery of "Christ in you the hope of glory."
Since it was never Prophesied about, never mentioned by Old Testament prophet's, kept hidden since the world began.
Do Christians realize what that means, does it even register in the minds of men the enormous power that has in scripture.

We see in the Old Testament prophecy about the coming Messiah, he shall save the world by a death on a cross, governments shall be upon his shoulders.
Wonderful things are prophesied in the Old Testament about the coming Saviour.
But nothing about God birthing His own children, nothing about being born again and in perfect union with our Heavenly Father.
No one knew, all that would believe would have Christ in them, Romans 16:25

25 Now to him that is of power to stablish you according to my gospel, and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery, which was kept secret since the world began,

People want to know what the mystery gospel is, there you have it.
The mystery gospel of "Christ in you the hope of glory," has been revealed.
It is no longer a mystery.
There is a not knowing, there is a never hearing such a thing, there is an ignorance to the mystery, but the mystery is revealed.

We split hairs over pet doctrines and what I believe, and the mystery gospel goes lacking.
Preached from very few pulpits, it is not discussed in our bible studies.
It's taboo in religion to preach Christ the mystery revealed.
Anything that causes religion to lose it's hold on a person will be rejected.
More than likely a board meeting will be set to see if it passes through the bylaws.
This is what Christianity is coming to, bound and decieved to believe man.
There is a certain scripture that will do you justice; it says "let every man be a lier, for God is true."

There are no born again in the Old Testament, no birthed children of God by Christ in them.
See how distorted the gospel can become.
There is Old Testament saints, some loved God, and they did many miraculous things by faith. Respected patriarchs, but none of them were born again.
Abraham dreamed of our day, I believe maybe they did get glimpses of the age we live in, who knows.
But be assured there has never in all the time of creation been anyone like the born again.
We glory in the cross, to God be the glory, what a plan, perfect in every aspect of knowledge and understanding, and He alone can reveal it.

Come on, FULLNESS of the Gentiles! :)

Christ in you the hope of glory is the riches of the glory of the mystery:

Colossians 1:

26 Even the mystery which hath been hid from ages and from generations, but now is made manifest to his saints:

27 To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory

The mystery which was not made known unto the sons of men is revealed in Ephesians 3:

1 For this cause I Paul, the prisoner of Jesus Christ for you Gentiles,

2 If ye have heard of the dispensation of the grace of God which is given me to you-ward:

3 How that by revelation he made known unto me the mystery; (as I wrote afore in few words,

4 Whereby, when ye read, ye may understand my knowledge in the mystery of Christ)

5 Which in other ages was not made known unto the sons of men, as it is now revealed unto his holy apostles and prophets by the Spirit;

6 That the Gentiles should be fellowheirs, and of the same body, and partakers of his promise in Christ by the gospel:

7 Whereof I was made a minister, according to the gift of the grace of God given unto me by the effectual working of his power.

8 Unto me, who am less than the least of all saints, is this grace given, that I should preach among the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ;

9 And to make all men see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the world hath been hid in God, who created all things by Jesus Christ:

10 To the intent that now unto the principalities and powers in heavenly places might be known by the church the manifold wisdom of God,

11 According to the eternal purpose which he purposed in Christ Jesus our Lord:

12 In whom we have boldness and access with confidence by the faith of him.

The mystery is the one body comprised of both Jews and gentiles with the Lord Jesus Christ being the Head.

The intent is that principalities and powers in heavenly places might know the manifold wisdom of God through observance of this "church", the one body in Christ Jesus.

Sadly, as a whole, the church has fallen far short of revealing the manifold wisdom of God.

Hallelujah that believers do at times come together in praise, worship, and power and God's manifold glory, wisdom, grace, mercy is revealed.

God is so far beyond our ability to comprehend, but He does give us glimpses of His mighty power and wisdom ... Christ in us the hope of glory being just one example.

Thanks for reminding us of this wonderful gift from God.

Behold, I will do a new thing, Now it shall spring forth; Shall you not know it? I will even make a road in the wilderness And rivers in the desert. The beast of the field will honor Me, The jackals and the ostriches, Because I give waters in the wilderness And rivers in the desert, To give drink to My people, My chosen. This people I have formed for Myself; They shall declare My praise.

Are you saying they had Christ in them?

The "short" answer would be, Yes. And, No. And, Yes! But now, currently blinded! Until the "fullness of the gentiles be come!"
(I wonder sometimes, why the shortest questions, so oft times, take the longest answers! :))

Before, Jehovah DIVORCED the "Nation of Israel", It had Jesus in them (born from above)! Although, He was not known, as such!

If you use "Bible Gateway", and do a search using: "NOT MY PEOPLE", you will find many passages of Jehovah, "Pleading with, and eventually Lamenting TO, and then PRONOUNCING His "Articles of Divorcement" UPON, His people Israel. You will see especially at the tail end of Isaiah, and almost the whole book of Jeremiah, and ALMOST all the proceeding passages, where Jehovah has decreed (the then, present/future tense) said "articles of divorcement!"
Up until this time? Israel was THEE "earthly Spiritual" kingdom on the planet! So, the Savior , was IN the Lord their God! (Spirit of God)
AFTER the divorce? They were just a "flesh and blood" kingdom! No better then the Pagans, heathens, and enemies of the Kingdom of God, and Kingdom of Light! Beings, the Lord their God, was no longer AMONGST them? Neither was their Savior! One could almost say: "Lo Emanuel!" (or, God (Spirit of God), is NOT with us)
And, it was like this, up until the Crucifixion, but BEFORE the Resurection (thank YOU Spirit of God), WHEN, Our Lord and Savior, visited hades, and Showed Himself, to EVERYONE who had "slept with their fathers", from the "garden of Eden" incident.
The ones from before Jehovah's "divorce", as well as the ones, after the divorce! And, it was because of their continued DISBELIEF, and Rejection of Christ's "GOOD NEWS?" That they are now BLINDED to it! UNTIL, that is, the "fulness of the gentiles" be come! Afterwards, they shall AGAIN, have "opportunity" in accepting Jesus Christ of Nazareth as MESSIAH! "The Holy ANNOINTED One of Israel!" :)

Can you show in the OT where it says MESSIAH will die on a cross?

I think this was part of the mystery, Is that the OT did not say the messiah would die on the cross.. And it was hidden for a reason.

Wasn't this in Iasiah 53?
Where is the word messiah in Is 53?

Remembering also. The characteristics of the one in Is 53 is not the characteristic given of the comming messiah, in fact they are apposed. It would be impossible to see them as the same person in the OT.

Jesus is God, and always was and always will be so therefor those living before He died on the cross for their sins certainly had Christ in them. Jesus died for all sins, past, present and future. There has always been the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, three unique persons comprising one God.

Again, Can you explain the different characteristics of the one in Is 53 and those concerning the messiah (where he was named)

For example.

Is IS 53, it is said this one wil die a horrific death
Accoding to the messianic prophesies, We are told he will never die

Is Is 53 this person is said to be homely and looked down on
According to messianic prophesies, he is said to be looked up to.

These are just a few.

The one in Is 53 is a suffering servant who will die for the sins of the people
Messiah is called the king who will Rule wiht a rod of Iron

(I believe they are one and the same people. I am just asking how a person in the OT could know this?

Um think you got your wires crossed here. Also messiah is the righteous servant. He couldnt be otherwise otherwise you looking for a king who is not righteous. JEsus is righteous AND he also rules with a rod of iron. Its just israel or specifically Judah were blinded by their own righteousness thinking they actually didnt need a saviour, just a ruler. Because they were thinking in the flesh and worldly terms. Again as Isaiah asks who will believe our message??
