Seems like I've heard this saying more than once.

"You find love when you least expect it."

Do you think that's true? Or is it just a silly, illogical saying?

Has anyone here ever actually found love when they weren't expecting to find it? If so, maybe you can share your story....if you feel like it.

So yeah, just wanted to hear your thoughts regarding this. :)

Love found me over 2000 years ago when a man from Nazareth called Jesus Christ, died on the cross for my sins - but defeated death when he was resurrected 3 days later ❤️

But speaking romantically - I believe that you can definitely find love when you least expect it, I know so many people who have experienced this and it’s such a beautiful thing! :)

I don’t think it’s possible to expect love, love is unsuspecting and unique in timing and you can’t know when that will come, true love I mean!

I’m leaning more and more don’t look, just trust in Him. Let the Holy Spirit guide you and bring you peace. He will give us the desires of our hearts when He sees us ready.

What it means is, you never find real love when you are looking for it. The love you find when you are looking is more like an exchange of services, "I'll be there for you if you'll be there for me, I'll supply your needs if you'll supply my needs." Real love is not something you can find... and it always catches you by surprise. In fact all the best things in life are surprises, things that happen when you are not expecting them, because if you try to make them happen you will get at best a pale facsimile.

Except chocolate of course... that is a very good thing in life that I can make happen for myself. :D :D :D But yeah, all the other best things in life are things that happen when you're not looking for them.

I think it’s just more surprising and memorable that way. Seems like anything that you chase, runs away. Sometimes you catch it, sometimes you settle because you’re tired of chasing. Instead if you place your focus on being more lovable, it finds you.

I certainly believe that there is an element of truth to that saying. I found love here on this site.

"I thought love was only true in fairy tales,
Meant for someone else but not for me.
Love was out to get me,
That's the way it seemed,
Disappointment haunted all of my dreams.

Then I saw her face, now I'm a believer.
Not a trace of doubt in my mind,
I'm in love.
I'm a believer,

I couldn't leave her if I tried."

I think it's true when I look back my past relationships - they just.. happened when I was least expecting it.

There's a quote that goes by something along the line of 'it's not magical if you are trying to make it happen' - and I think it's true.

God has been really putting some things on my heart relating to this and I do believe it's true (at least to some extent) thar loves comes along when you're not looking for it.

I believe our prime goal should be moving towards the person God created us to be. We should be focuses on this first and foremost and our relationship with God. God needs to have His rightful place on our hearts as King and Saviour before we can love anyone else. We also need to love ourselves before we love anyone else!

I seriously have a hard time believing that anyone meets on the exact same page of life and mutual romantic love follows immediately.

However, I believe that either the guy or girl reveals their true feelings and if things are meant to be, the test of time will eventually bring them together feeling the same for each other in due season.

Never settle for anything less than what you believe is real love.

Corinthians 13:4-8
Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5 It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

Somewhat true but the thing about love is, it is you already. What ends up being found is different manifestations of this
truth in things like relationships and various other things.

Things like gratitude/ being thankful and emphasizing consistently what you are/have, causes it to happen faster,
at least for me anyways even though i don't want to be in a relationship but the doors are always open.
As for the door being opened when i least expect it, yea it happens but more so when i focus on it and not being needy/lacking
and pursuing it.

The average single person who wants a relationship who is seeking does the opposite usually. They focus on not having it, looking
to others who have, searching high and low in lack, rather than coming back to self and what they already are and have in gratitude.
This is the main reason why it's so difficult for some. Matthew 13:12 pretty much sums this up.

love is easy once you realize that its you, then you can stop looking for yourself, Rather love will be reflected back to you.
God loves you because He sees himself within you.. Man is not just a random autonomous entity that He created that is separated
from Himself.

God/Love is egotistical and if a person were to connect the dots from start to finish they would find God at the beginning and end..
He started it and it will end with Him.. what man seeks is just a sip or two of it from cupped hands, little does he know its endless.
What he seeks, what he drinks from, what he produces/ takes part in is much bigger than his comprehension. Acknowledging the whole as he partakes in love expands his range of view and understanding.

Anyways, if you are looking, and that's what you want, go for it. You will find.
