Actually, it is. The enemy though makes it seem like it's impossible. Then goes on to convince countless others that what God 'really' means is since you can't stop sinning (a lie) the law applies to you as a believer. It's simple but never easy.
John 15:3 states "You are already clean because of the word I have spoken to you. " See, Jesus continually spoke of and pointed out how he removes sin and forgives it. It is the focal point of the gospel. The new testament is replete with this message. His very word make people clean, through faith in it. His word, his spirit is given to us. The spirit of God is the sin eater that dwells within. It's his purpose. To clean the insides of the temple. The law was our school master doing this UNTIL the Lord transformed the ministry and remade the covenant. Now the spirit dwells within, according to the testimony of Jesus Christ.
So why do we focus on our sin as if it's hopeless to rid it UNTIL the day of death? That is a lie the devil wants you to believe because death is the final outcome of sin. He will fool you that your sin is excusable instead of fixable. He will fool you into accepting sin and death, and all the laws that deal with such. When in fact you have been cleaned and redeemed, if you would only believe. And live as Jesus lived. Full of the spirit of God.
What is sin? Transgression of the law. Who is the Spirit? And what has he accomplished in regards to sin, and death?
Sin is put to death in your mortal body by the Spirit of God when he lives in your heart.
Romans 8:11-13
13 For if you live according to the flesh, you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the misdeeds of the body, you will live
Sin is living according to the flesh. The Spirit puts to death the sins of the body. The law does the opposite by continuously reminding you of your sins day after day. In contrast the Spirit completely removes sin.
Who's ministering in your heart, the law or the Spirit? Are you continually faced with your sins, or are you free from all sin.
Acts 13:39; Romans 6:18; Hebrews 10:17-18
1 John 2:5 This is how we know we are in him: 6 Whoever claims to live in him must live as Jesus did.
Jesus preached repentance for the forgiveness of sins. More so, he lived with the spirit of God dwelling inside him. Doing only his will, hearing only his word and following those instructions. As foretold through the law and the prophets.
Luke 24
44 He said to them, “This is what I told you while I was still with you: Everything must be fulfilled that is written about me in the Law of Moses, the Prophets and the Psalms.” 45 Then he opened their minds so they could understand the Scriptures.
46 He told them, “This is what is written: The Messiah will suffer and rise from the dead on the third day, 47 and repentance for the forgiveness of sins will be preached in his name to all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.
48 You are witnesses of these things.
49 I am going to send you what my Father has promised; but stay in the city until you have been clothed with power from on high.”
There is the gospel. Everything written about Jesus in the Law, the prophets, the scriptures... And as he spoke to them he opened their minds to understand. That the work on the cross was about repentance for the forgiveness of sins, that leads one to be clothed with power from on high. And live just like Jesus lived.
And it's not about weather you believe me or not, it's not my message. I bare it for the one who send me.
