Hey Singles!

First of all, congratulations to everyone who survived Valentine's Day intact--at least I hope everyone survived!

I'm not sure about all of you, but the best thing to me about some of these "Hallmark Holidays" is the day after-- meaning, all the holiday-themed candy is marked down!!!

A few years ago, I brought in a dozen red roses and passed them out individually to all the other singles at work (our youth group was selling them so it was for a good cause.) Unfortunately, my plan sort of backfired a bit, in that one girl (who had a fiance) was very upset about not receiving a rose and told me, "I didn't know Valentine's Day was about discrimination!" She was partially joking, but I was wondering if I would be running into an ambush when I went to my car that evening (I can see it now: "Quick! There she is, the prejudiced flower-giver... GET HER!!")

This year, I decided it would be much safer to buy some marked-down candy... and share it with EVERYONE.

Here are some of my top picks:

1. M&M's (I like plain, but several people like peanut so I try to get both.)
2. Cinnamon jelly hearts (covered in sugar!! No nutritional value whatsoever!! The absolute antithesis of health food!!)
3. Hershey's Kisses, of course! In various flavors... Hugs (white chocolate/milk chocolate mix, cordial cherry, etc.)
4. Chocolate-covered cherries and other "boxed" assortments... nougats and cremes and fruit-covered chocolate!!! Can you say heaven in a box?! :)
5. Reese's peanut butter cups.
6. York peppermint patties. What can I say... I'm a sucker for the classics!

It's always nice to have something to share with other people and for a few moments, it helps you forget about the loneliness.

How about the rest of you? If you buy Valentine candy for yourself, or if you had someone to buy it for you, what would you choose?

I'm not so big on the "conversation hearts" but have to admit it's cute how they keep up with "modern times"--such as, the hearts that now say, "Tweet Me."

I'm hoping to find a heart that says, "Buy Me Candy." ;)

How about all of you?

*Shakes her head.*

Nuke, I just don't know what we're going to do with you. And if I start another thread about you, at least one poster has threatened to burn down the forum... (Notice, I've resisted temptation so far. Just for now, at least. As I said before... growing up in a Christian school... it's HARD to not do something when someone says, "Don't do such-and-such or I'm going to..." Sigh. I'm trying to be good here.)

(Oh, and by the way, my favorite "Bittersweet" on the site was, "My Parole Is Up.") :D

I suppose my own personalized Bittersweet Hearts would be:

1. "I Went to Parochial School."
2. "They Told Me Not To."
3. "So I Did It Anyway."
4. "I Got a Timeout."
5. "Look What Good It Did."

:D

Why? You know you want to throw something heavy at me...

My favorite kind of V-day candy is the kind that my guy brings me every year. Oh wait! I dont have one of those.

No seriously though, I do not have a fav candy. I am a teacher and students bring so much junk that I can't stand it. It all starts to taste the same and blend together.

Best: chocolate covered strawberries (if you buy them, they're pretty expensive; so go fondue! haha)

Second: chocolates filled with coconut :)

Its official! Either you are a brunette on the inside or I am a redhead on the inside. Mhm. Crazy uncanny!

My favorite valentine's day candy is something that women wear all the time and its not usually edible...

a candy necklace of course. :p What were you thinking????!!!

LOL...must be a female thing....we are rarely *out of the loop* when it comes to anything chocolate related. ;)

They already make them Zero.....I have eaten my fair share. ;) You name the season, and they make it in a shape of a reeces. lol
