I dont know about this as not living in spain but I have heard people blame orphanages for child trafficking. Some may be run by nuns and convents of thr RCC.
In my country I did hear there used to be situstions where unwed mothers had babies adopted out, they got sent away to places to have their babies, signed a form and handed over their babies to the state because they couldnt look after them. Because it was shameful. I have not heard of anyone bidding on a baby or child for cash. I dont know enough about RCC orphanges how they operate now but have heard in some countires like Ireland that happens since ireland is a catholic run state. But i have heard of some abuses in RCC orphanges in my country in the past...people are only now speaking up about it.
Nowadays what happens is the unwed mothers go on the DPB, the domestic purposes benefit and the state actually gives them money to raise the child. Thus you get a sitstion where some unscrupulous people deliberately get pregant, dont marry, list the father as unknown, and receive money for their child which they spend, sometimes not on the child but on drugs.
However if people report these so called parents to the auhtorities, social workers etc, they could get their child taken off them (called an uplift) and placed in foster care because of neglect of the child. No parent is fit to parent if they are on drugs. Especially for a baby that will need 24/7 care in the first few months of its life. If one negelects this care, that baby could die. Foster parents are paid a certain sum to look after the child but they may not adopt them if the birth parents havent consented.
This actually happens. This is reality.
As for adoption depending on what country one goes to, usually its free, for unwanted children, its only if a child is like a designer baby from a sperm donor or something people have to pay (for all the technology and fertility treatments to have one) . Dont quote me im not the expert though.
The headline for that article seems a bit scaremongering allegation, but there have been scandals of child abuse by the RCC in the past like what happened in Boston they had paedophiles in the church, and everyone turned a blind eye.
Theres catholic high schools up the road from me Im actually going to visit one this week to check them out for a job interview. As far as I know they are just tied to their religion which has a lot of man made rules but Im not sure how deep in bondage they are to the devil! I think the majority dont really have a personal relationship with Jesus though, and thus just like unbelievers like anyone else who doesnt believe. Not sure which worse though, unbelievers that worship rock star idols or unbelievers who worship rock idols that look like Jesus.
