I heard that Muslims do not eat pork because it is the dirtiest animal, but Jesus says in Mark 7:15 and read Mark 7:18-23 and food does not defile us it is what ever the heart does outwardly. So back then the religious people might of got the wrong understanding of GOD's word and took it too far into religious being.

Yes, but the problem is NOT in them denying pork. It is in debate through the law over such an issue. If I were in the company of such a person, I simply won't eat pork. This is a fleshly matter that profits nothing. His faith is only weak in this matter.

It is the people in the religion who make it evil. Religion is an object. It can not be inherently evil or good. Those are qualities reserved for mankind and the actions of mankind.

Let's juxtapose the question to Christianity. Is Christianity evil? Women were not treated as equals until the Industrial Revolution. The Irish Republican Army bombed English buses and killed English hostages in order to defend Catholicism and the Irish state. The Protestants and Catholics brutally murdered the Anabaptists. I would say that it is the people who do those things in the name of religion is evil. There are evil Christians but Christianity is not evil. There are evil Muslims but Islam is not evil.
No; there are no evil True Christians. If you are truly a Christian, you are not evil; you are God's.

I think it would be really useful to actually define "evil" here:

"Morally wrong or bad; immoral; wicked: evil deeds; an evil life."

Now, is it Morally wrong to deny the existence of Jesus Christ as God?

I believe (key word: I believe. Others may not necessarily believe that)it is; and since Islam preaches that Jesus Christ is not God, only a mere human prophet, by extrapolation Islam is "evil". Again, it depends if you feel it is morally wrong to deny the existence of Jesus Christ as God.

If you are not a Christian, and do not share in the belief that it is wrong to disbelieve in God's nature (being Triune), then Islam is not evil.

I hope I have made it clear that from a secular viewpoint, Islam is not evil, but from my morality viewpoint, it is.

I studied Islam a lot.

It is definitely anti-Christ in nature, and evil to the core.

There are few things in the world as satanic as Islam.

I can honestly say I am ignorant of all religions other than Christianity. It isnt a personal choice what so ever, i've never been taught anything different and im going to school for health managment and adminstration dealing with long term care, i would love to throw a religion course in there and get the facts of other religions, but i was raised believing in turning a deaf ear on anything anti-christ for fear it may cause doubt in the heart, i myself have a strong belief i could learn more about Islam and still believe fully in christ, but alas i cannot afford the classes, so does this make me a bad person because i allow myself to be ignorant of other religion?i dont want to owe more in student loans so i dont bother to study other religions i KNOW im not going to believe? nor do i need them to enter the kingdom of heaven. I answered Yes to the poll before i read the thread, why? because i feel any religion that breeds the hate that islam has is evil, yes look into our past you will see all religions have had hate and war and slaughter, but look at who has left that behind? who has finally seen the truth. not islam thats forsure. I may be coming off as uneducated and hateful well i lost my uncle in the pentagon and my brother is muslim i love everybody im just not blind to fact christians are changing and trying to make up for what we have done what has Islam done for you lately??

So in your experience with Islam, what verses would indicate that it is evil to the core ?

I'd say you'd have to look at it's sources.

The Qu'ran, and Hadith both are anti-Christ in nature and are almost perfectly opposed to the Bible.

As for specific verses, I'd say Islam, in it's entirety, is vile and leads many to be condemned.

If I had time, I'd go through all the main arguments as to why I feel this way, but I don't have that kind of time at the moment, so I'd urge you to check out some of my favorite ministries which deal directly with Islam as well as other false beliefs.

Answering Islam, A Christian-Muslim Dialog and Apologetic

And

Islam | Christian Apologetics and Research Ministry

Not to mention that Muslims use Taqqiya and Kitman when approaching us Westerners very often... so ya... as a Westerner and a Christian... I fully expect Muslims to lie to me about Islam... and they do; nearly every single time the open their mouths.

Do you use Taqqiya as a get out of debating a muslim card ?

The Islamic line of taqiyya is you can lie or do what is forbidden when you fear for your life.

Not sure why this chat site seems to cut off my posts.
Previous post continued.

Surely those who hide from people the clear proofs and guidance, which We clarified in the Book (the Quran), will be cursed by Allah… (Quran, 2:159)

Shaikh Damashqia likens Taqiyya to pork. Pork is Haram normally. However, if a person put a gun to one’s head and says to eat pork, then it becomes permissible to eat in order to save one’s life.

So being the expert on Islam here. What are the verses from your experience that make Islam evil ? Take you time.

Taken together, the adherents of Judaism, Christianity and Islam comprise over half of humanity. The grim realities of contemporary politics aside, similarities between the three religions vastly outnumber the differences.

Remember the commandment Jesus left us "Love one another", He died for all sins, we are not the judge, he is.

Jesus cried for those who had him put to death

If you find hatred creeping in to you heart, you need to remember Jesus, how can we claim Jesus as our King and savior if we don't do what he asked us to do.

There is no room for interpretation here. wwjd is more than a cool bracelet, and applies to more than just this.

It all starts with Love, the works of God are based in Love, be careful, if you start in hatred your not doing Gods work, and if your not doing his work, then who's?

No, Islam is no more evil than Christianity or Judaism or any other religion.
Central to the teachings of Islam is the idea of jihad, holy war. This is not a peaceful religion. Let's do a quick comparison.

You have heard that it was said, "An eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth." But I tell you not to resist an evil person. But whoever slaps you on your right cheek, turn the other to him also. (Matthew 5:38-39)

Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse. (Romans 12:14)

Blessed are you when they revile and persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely for My sake. Rejoice and be exceedingly glad, for great is your reward in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you. (Matthew 5:11-12)

Repay no one evil for evil. Have regard for good things in the sight of all men. If it is possible, as much as depends on you, live peaceably with all men. Beloved, do not avenge yourselves, but rather give place to wrath; for it is written, "Vengeance is Mine, I will repay," says the Lord. Therefore "If your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him a drink; for in so doing you will heap coals of fire on his head." Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good. (Romans 12:17-21)

A violent man entices his neighbor, and leads him in a way that is not good. (Proverbs 16:29)

And now, ladies and gentlemen, the Quran:

Then they proceeded: Until, when they met a young boy, he slew him. Moses said: "Hast thou slain an innocent person who had slain none? Truly a foul (unheard-of) thing hast thou done!" (S.18, A.74)

Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah; and those who are with him are strong against Unbelievers, (but) compassionate amongst each other. (S.48, A.29)

O ye who believe! Fight the Unbelievers who are near to you and let them find harshness in you: and know that Allah is with those who fear Him. (S.9, A.123)

As for the youth, his parents were people of Faith, and we feared that he would grieve them by obstinate rebellion and ingratitude (to Allah). So we desired that their Lord would give them in exchange (a son) better in purity (of conduct) and closer in affection. (S.18, A.80-81)

Fight in the cause of Allah those who fight you but do not transgress limits; for Allah loveth not transgressors. And slay them wherever ye catch them, and turn them out from where they have turned you out; for persecution is worse than slaughter; but fight them not at the Sacred Mosque, unless they (first) fight you there; but if they fight you, slay them. Such is the reward of those who reject faith. But if they cease, Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful. And fight them on until there is no more persecution and the religion becomes Allah's. But if they cease, let there be no hostility except to those who practise oppression. (S.2, A.190-193)

And fight them [unbelievers] on until there is no more persecution, and religion becomes Allah's in its entirety but if they cease, verily Allah doth see all that they do. (S.8, A.38)

Let not the Unbelievers think that they have escaped, they will never frustrate (them). Against them make ready your strength to the utmost of your power, including steeds of war, to strike terror into (the hearts of) the enemies, of Allah and your enemies, and others besides, whom ye may not know, but whom Allah doth know. Whatever ye shall spend in the Cause of Allah, shall be repaid unto you, and ye shall not be treated unjustly. (S.8, A.60)

O Prophet! rouse the Believers to the fight. If there are twenty amongst you, patient and persevering, they will vanquish a thousand of the Unbelievers: for these are a people without understanding. (S.8, A.65)

But if they violate their oaths after their covenant, and attack your Faith, - fight ye the chiefs of Unfaith: For their oaths are nothing to them: That thus they may be restrained. Will ye not fight people who violated their oaths, plotted to expel the Messenger, and attacked you first? Do ye fear them? Nay, it is Allah whom ye should more justly fear, if ye believe! Fight them, and Allah will punish them by your hands, and disgrace them Help you (to victory) over them, heal the breasts of Believers. (S.9, A.12-14)

Fight those who believe not in Allah nor the Last Day, nor hold that forbidden which hath been forbidden by Allah and His Messenger, nor acknowledge the Religion of Truth, from among the People of the Book, until they pay the Jizya with willing submission, and feel themselves subdued. (S.9, A.29)

To those against whom War is made, permission is given (to fight), because they are wronged; - and verily, Allah is Most Powerful for their aid; - (They are) those who have been expelled from their homes in defiance of right, - (for no cause) except that they say, "Our Lord is Allah". (S.22, A.39-40)

Fighting is prescribed upon you, and ye dislike it. But it is possible that ye dislike a thing which is good for you, and that ye love a thing which is bad for you. But Allah knoweth, and ye know not. (S.2, A.216)

The number of months in the sight of Allah is twelve (in a year) - so ordained by Him the day He created the heavens and the earth; of them four are sacred: That is the right religion so wrong not yourselves therein, and fight the Pagans all together as they fight you all together. But know that Allah is with those who restrain themselves. (S.9, A.36)

Therefore, when ye meet the Unbelievers (in fight) smite at their necks; at length, when ye have thoroughly subdued them, bind (the captives) firmly: (S.47, A.4)

And slacken not in following up the enemy: if ye are suffering hardships, they are suffering similar hardships: (S.4, A.104)

Then fight in the cause of Allah, and know that Allah heareth and knoweth all things. (S.2, A.244)

Then fight in Allah's cause - Thou art held responsible only for thyself - and rouse the Believers. (S.4, A.84)

The punishment of those who wage war against Allah and His Messenger, and strive with might and main for mischief through the land is: execution, or crucifixion, or the cutting off of hands and feet from opposite sides, or exile from the land: That is their disgrace in this world, and a heavy punishment is theirs in the Hereafter; (S.5, A.33)

Truly Allah loves those who fight in His cause in battle array, as if they were a solid cemented structure. (S.61, A.4)

Let those fight in the cause of Allah who sell the life of this world for the Hereafter. To him who fighteth in the cause of Allah, - whether he is slain or gets victory - soon shall We give him a reward of great (value). And why should ye not fight in the cause of Allah and of those who, being weak, are ill-treated (and oppressed)? - men, women, and children, whose cry is: "Our Lord! Rescue us from this town. Whose people are oppressors; and raise for us from Thee one who will protect; and raise for us from Thee one who will help!" Those who believe fight in the cause of Allah and those who reject Faith fight in the cause of Evil (Tagut): So fight ye against the Friends, of Satan: feeble indeed is the cunning of Satan. (S.4, A.74-76)

Not equal are those Believers who sit (at home), except those who are disabled. And those who strive and fight in the cause of Allah with their goods and their persons. Allah hath granted a grade higher to those who strive and fight with their goods and persons than to those who sit (at home). Unto all (in Faith) hath Allah promised good: But those who strive and fight hath He distinguished above those who sit (at home) by a great reward. - (S.4, A.95)

Those who believe in Allah and the Last Day ask thee for no exemption from fighting with their goods and persons. And Allah knoweth well those who do their duty. Only those ask thee for exemption who believe not in Allah and the Last Day, and whose hearts are in doubt, so that they are tossed in their doubts to and fro. (S.9, A.44-45)

O Prophet! strive hard against the Unbelievers and the Hypocrites, and be firm against them. Their abode is Hell, - an evil refuge indeed. (S.9, A.73)

O Prophet! Strive hard against the Unbelievers and the Hypocrites, and be harsh with them. Their abode is Hell, - an evil refuge (indeed). (S.66, A.9)

Why should ye be divided into two parties about the Hypocrites? Allah hath cast them off for their (evil) deeds. Would ye guide those whom Allah hath thrown out of the Way? For those whom Allah hath thrown out of the Way, never shalt thou find the Way. They but wish that ye should reject Faith, as they do, and thus be on the same footing (as they): So take not friends from their ranks until they flee in the way of Allah (from what is forbidden). But it (sic) they turn renegades, seize them and slay them wherever ye find them; and (in any case) take no friends or helpers from their ranks: - (S.4, A.88-89, bold added)

Others you will find that wish to be secure from you as well as that of their people: Every time they are sent back to temptation, they succumb thereto: if they withdraw not from you nor give you (guarantees) of peace besides restraining their hands, seize them and slay them wherever ye get them: (S.4, A.91, bold added)

Soon shall We cast terror into the hearts of the Unbelievers, . . . (S.3, A.151)

But when the forbidden months are past, then fight and slay the Pagans wherever ye find them, and seize them, beleaguer them, and lie in wait for them in every stratagem (of war); but if they repent, and establish regular prayers. (sic) And pay Zakat then open the way for them: For Allah is Oft-forgiving, Most Merciful. (S.9, A.5, bold added)

Truly, if the Hypocrites, and those in whose hearts is a disease, and those who stir up sedition in the City, desist not, We shall certainly stir thee up against them: Then will they not be able to stay in it as thy neighbours for any length of time: They shall have a curse on them: wherever they are found, they shall be seized and slain. (S.33, A.60-61, bold added)

And there is the type of man who gives his life to earn the pleasure of Allah; and Allah is full of kindness to (His) devotees. (S.2, A.207)

Think not of those who are slain in Allah¹s way as dead. Nay, they live, finding their sustenance from their Lord. (S.3, A.169)

"Those who have left their homes, and were driven out therefrom, and suffered harm in My cause, and fought and were slain, - verily, I will blot out from them their iniquities, and admit them into Gardens with rivers flowing beneath; - a reward from Allah and from Allah is the best of rewards." Hi Trust

I'll go through these. Just glancing through they are the usual verses taken out of context. Even just completing the verses of some would put them into context. Oh well.

A couple of questions for you in the meantime.

What happened to the people who prayed to the golden calf ?

How did the people of Israel get the promise land ? Did they turn the other cheek ?

Muslims complain when Christians criticize their religion, but the Quran is critical of both Christianity and Judaism. In case those of you who are Muslim don't know it, here in America and many other countries in the world we are free to express our opinions whether you like it or not. If this is against the wishes of God, I am sure He is big enough to handle that without any assistance from you. Anyone of any faith who commits violence against another human being in the name of their God or religion is simply showing how weak their God or religion is. If God is God and Lord of all, he certainly doesn't need us weak human beings to protect His honor. Those of you who can't take having your faith criticized by others need to face facts and realize that God has allowed all human beings the freedom to choose how they want to believe. Who are you to take away the freedom God has so obviously granted?

Muslims complain when Christians criticize their religion, but the Quran is critical of both Christianity and Judaism. In case those of you who are Muslim don't know it, here in America and many other countries in the world we are free to express our opinions whether you like it or not. If this is against the wishes of God, I am sure He is big enough to handle that without any assistance from you. Anyone of any faith who commits violence against another human being in the name of their God or religion is simply showing how weak their God or religion is. I have been very impressed with the maturity of the Christians on this chat. Something to aspire to. Well done.

"Those who have left their homes, and were driven out therefrom, and suffered harm in My cause, and fought and were slain, - verily, I will blot out from them their iniquities, and admit them into Gardens with rivers flowing beneath; - a reward from Allah and from Allah is the best of rewards." (S.3, A.195)
Putting some context around these verses.

After 13 years of preaching the oneness of God in Makkah, the muslims had to flee for their lives from the Quraish to Madinah where they received santity.

The Quraish wanted to wipe the muslims out. There was three battles.

The battle of Badr. Where 950 full armour soldier fought against 320 lightly armed muslims.

The battle of Uhud where the Quraish bitter about the loss at Badr sent an army of 3000 to Madinah fight against the 700 strong muslim force.

The battle of the trench was the final battle where the Quraish recruited people from all over Saudi Arabia. They had a force of 20,000 to the muslims 3,000.

During those battles where the muslims were fighting for their lives God was sending them instructions. Turning the cheek just would not cut it in these situations.

These verses refer to a particular unbeliever (the ones attacking) and a particular situation. defending your lives.

Truly Allah loves those who fight in His cause in battle array, as if they were a solid cemented structure. (S.61, A.4)

G
od is instructing the muslims to fight in ranks not unorganised as the arabs have done in the past.

O Prophet! rouse the Believers to the fight. If there are twenty amongst you, patient and persevering, they will vanquish a thousand of the Unbelievers: for these are a people without understanding. (S.8, A.65)

If you are fighting a force that is three times your size you need encouragement.

Soon shall We cast terror into the hearts of the Unbelievers, . . . (S.3, A.151)

A lot of encouragement.

We can't afford any passengers here. We need everyone to protect the city.

God is telling them you are out number three against one against an enemy that is also better armed. I still do not want you to transgress limits. If they stop fighting then you stop fighting even if you are getting the upper hand. It was unheard of for a fighting force at that time to set limits for itself against the enemies.

I wonder if the US or NATO soldiers were in a situation where they are heavily out numbered and out gunned whether they would remind each other not to transgress limits.

The Quran is a comprehensive in the guidance it gives to us. In all situations, even war.

"This day have I perfected for you your religion and completed My favor on you and chosen for you Islam as a religion."

I wanna know what you guys think about this subject. Some Muslims said it is written in the Quran that they should slaughter those who mock their religion. They also don't treat women as they're equal! I mean i could go on and say every bad thing that I notice from their religion tho I couldn't really jump in to conclusion since i don't know the whole story behind it! So I'm asking you guys, do you think Islam is evil?

oh ya! they also claim that Allah is the god of the old testament and that the new testament is corrupted yet that contradicts the bible since God said that he would preserve his word! what do you guys think about this one?

no, we are all children of god, it is the riligion that makes them what they are, and so can the christians be,
it is in what you believe what makes a person, if your religion is corupt you also will be corupt in your thingking.
the muslems hate the jews so much they get taken over by hate and revenge. god said revenge is mine.
they say the jews have taken their land, but what they can not see or understand that GOD took the jews out
of the land of egypt and to go where they are now. israel was non existing till 1948. GOD says inthe prophesys. i will bring you back to your land i will call you from the four quarters of the earth and bring you
back to your land, but palestinians can not see this and will not see . therefore they dont know that they are
strifing with the god that they suppose to worship , blinded by revenge and hate. faith with knowledge is
good but faith with no knowledge is so dangeres . truth can only come from GOD. this world is called babylon
(confusion) religion is confused. if you trully seeking GOD get the scribes and pharisees infolved.
read the bible in you room and also pray and GOD will send to you the spirit of truth(the holy spirit) to teach
you have a nice one ------wakeup

It is evil to say that Christ did not die on the Cross or that He did not rise from the dead. Unless that is so, our faith in Christ is in vain, and all the people of the world who have ever lived or will ever live will die in their sins and be separated eternally from God. Unless Christ died and is risen, there is no salvation for any human being. Denying Christ, as Islam does, is an evil thing to do.
