I'm new here. I found this place because I was looking for a christian chat area where I could talk to both men and women who are believers in Christ and married or have been married. Frankly, I would like to have very candid discussions about some of the issues inside of my marriage. I feel very isolated and I realize that turning to the Word and Praying only help me so much. I do not want to turn to porn because I know it'll make my issues worse. It would be very helpful if there were any middle aged men and women out there who are married to talk to about... how to keep my marriage together because I don't believe the Lord will smile on divorce. I want to honor Him but this is a daily struggle. I feel isolated and I would like to talk to others. I realize if I talk to 40 somethings about it, especially females, there is always a risk of some 'extra' relationships starting which I don't want. Which is why I would want a christian site. I've tried talking about these things on non-christian areas and well, I end up with women liking me too much and expecting ...romance. that's not what I'm after. I'm after a wise, friendly ear. If I can't find that here, where can I find it? Point me somewhere.

Also I prefer text and low bandwidth only, and a respectable amount of anonymity. I'm in a remote location and have bad internet.

Warning, I am sometimes way too honest. Is that too honest for an introduction?
I'm in my 40's, I'm married. I'm not interested in romantic relationships, I just want to talk to people living the life and trying to get by like me.

Hello Ryan,

All the stuff you mention has already been thoroughly discussed, debated and argued excessively. Lol! :giggle:

You’re kind of a little late to the party but, we can go through it all again....

I highly recommend ANY video by Mark Gungor! You can start with this one.....

Three great guys you can reach out to are probably .......@PennEd, @BillG, and @Dino246. I highly respect these guys - they will lead you in the right path. :)(y)

Just because a woman is on this site, or even claims to be a Christian, doesn't not mean they're anymore immune to potential attraction. I've known a few, both on and off this site, that ended up cheating, without planning on it.
And if your intent is to get them off the site to talk privately that makes you look a bit shady yourself. So pretty much most of the women on this site, married or not, would not go off site with a brand new user, and those that did probably aren't going to help you much.
If you're looking for both perspectives try finding a couple willing to sit together, rather than a woman on her own.
But, really, anyone willing to go off site with you so quick is pretty shady on their own.

A warm welcome to CC and you found a good place to chat. I'd suggest you pose this q in the Christian Family Forum where you will get more responses. There is a reason for everything and 'all things work together for good for those who love the Lord'. God bless you in your search for Truth!

@subhumanoid very good point, I wasn't meaning 'off forum' I was meaning in the chat rooms here. Forums feel a bit exposed because of Google's ability to cache.

I am also in my 40’s, and married. Well-educated and kind, decent person in general. We have had some faith based issues in our marriage. We went to Christian counseling for 3 months, and it helped for a while, but we are struggling again. I am also not expecting romance. Maybe we can chat sometime.

Chat rooms are an open as well, though. There are no private rooms. And to initiate PM's requires a subscription, the same as forum PMs. The new chat feature built into the site would probably be the best option.

A woman in an unhappy marriage chatting with a man in an unhappy marriage? That's a total setup for bad choices. That's basically asking for trouble.

It’s sad to see you attacking new members on this site from the get-go. Grow up! You’re making a lot of assumptions off the cuff and have an immature perspective. I’ve been through Christian counseling. I’ve learned a lot that I could share with not only this gentlemen, but with the group. For example, temperament analysis, certain bible verses, exercises/worksheets, and more. You should take the time to get to know someone before making accusations.

I’m taking my knowledge elsewhere where it will be appreciated. Goodbye Christian Chat!

You joined only yesterday, and now you're leaving because you were told it's an unwise idea to PM with another unhappy spouse? I've heard alot of reasons for leaving CC, but this one is new..

And nobody has said that your "knowledge" isn't appreciated. I'm sure it is. :)

Oh look! Another hater on this site making assumptions. Nice “eye rolling” emoji - very mature. I don’t need your advice, and I didn’t ask for it. I’m a grown adult who makes my own decisions. Another reason to leave this site due to nasty, sarcastic, judgmental people. See ya!

I wasn't being nasty OR sarcastic, nor did I make any assumptions. But from your response to Subhuman, it seems like you're leaving because you feel your knowledge is unappreciated.. Pardon me if I was wrong.. :)

And speaking of judgemental, you've been here for only ONE DAY. Hardly time enough to know how people are on here..

I don't think it's bad to be honest. Maybe it's good to not give out so much info is what you meant. I spilled my guts in my testimony.
