Good evening brothers and sisters! My question is about christian women’s clothes.

So, what do you say about the way some women dress up? Does God condemn a woman that wear clevage / tight or short dresses? If yes or no, why? What should a christian woman wear?

What should you recommend or say to a woman that wears tight jeans/ short dresses / clevage?
Clothing should be worn to cover yourself up, keep you warm in the winter, avoid sunburn in the summer and keep dry in a rain. "What would you say to a woman who wears tight jeans?"..go on a diet so the jeans would fit.:)

the bible has a lot to say about the way women and men dress.....God said it is an abomination for a women to wear anything that pertains to a man, or for a man to wear women'g garments

Deuteronomy 22:5 (KJV)
5 The woman shall not wear that which pertaineth unto a man, neither shall a man put on a woman's garment: for all that do so are abomination unto the LORD thy God.

some will say this is the old testament. but notice God called it an abomination.....an abomination never changes from OT....To NT

no christian woman would dress on purpose in a way that would reveal her cleavage.

women who dress in such a way with tight, form fitting, short skirts, low neck lines etc...are advertising themselves......

when you flirt with the devil, don't act surprised when he makes a pass at you!

this generation has lost its mind when it comes to clothing fashions......i know it cant be comfortable wearing clothes so tight you can see every curve and dimple

shouldn't common sense kick in some where and tell people......"you cant put a mattress in a pillow case"

There was once a woman who had a child that rode the church bus every Sunday to church and home. The woman was unchurched, not saved that is and unfamiliar with church protocol. One day finally the child convinced mom to go to church along with. So she got out what she thought was her best dress, prettiest, and fit her best. While at church several people choose to chastize her over the length of the skirt and it's color and it's conformity to her body.
She never walked through a church door again and also took her child out of church for the sake of her own embarrassment.

Was the Grace of our Lord served?
Not hardly. I prefer the method called let an elder woman take her under her wing and disciple her. The clothes will change with as the relationship with the Lord grows and elder women love, lead and guide.

What a woman is comfortable wearing and considers modest may vary among different women. Don't be too concerned about the rules of dress. Listen to your heart on this matter. If you feel comfortable in an outfit then chances are, it is appropriate and just fine to wear. If you feel unsure you could pray about it and ask a family member or friend if they think it is ok outfit to wear around. I grew up in the modesty culture in church and I felt I took it a little too far. I did not even feel right about wearing a v-neck shirt without something underneath. Now V necks shirts are a personal favorite of mine and I don't worry about modesty so much now. With much of that self consciousness gone, I feel more free to be myself in the clothes that I choose to wear.

When you actually meet the Lord, you probably won't be wearing anything at all--so I wouldn't recommend following this particular piece of advice (it might get you arrested).

I find women are very much victims of low self image and very often suffer from a rejection complex. As a fallen sinful society we pile on this with beauty standards that say to a woman unless you are sexually appetizing you are not valuable. So women set out to prove they are just that in order to validate their value to society. The lower she sees herself the more revealing she dresses to attract the eye of desirable men because that is the currency of our social standing; "sexual trade in value". It works on men in a different way with a whole other set of problems.

Can looks be a curse?
There was a pretty girl who was asked if she could be made up to look ugly.
After a period of time she stopped wanting to stay like this, because of the different
way people reacted to her.

It is sad when how we look defines the value we feel we have.
Speaking to my wife and daughters they are very aware how they dress effects how
much attention or otherwise they get, and only because of this.

It then becomes a way you value yourself.
As believers do we behave differently to people depending on their dress?
Do we encourage to know the people we meet and not let it be superficial?
The world is all about impressions and what you appear to be, not what you are, which
is where it all falls apart.

Yes, a woman with low self esteem might dress in a more revealing matter or she may try to cover up and hide her body. Depends on the woman. For myself in the past I would try to cover up often putting something underneath a modest v neck shirt. Nowadays I feel more comfortable wearing v neck shirts as they are, but I still have my boundaries for things I feel comfortable wearing. As an example, two piece bikinis are probably something I will never feel comfortable wearing because it just feels like your wearing underwear in public except it is swimwear material.

I would say if a woman is dressing to look sexy on purpose to go out in public it would be wrong for her motivation for dressing is wrong, for their motivation should not be to cause the men to eyeball them thinking what a babe, and give me some of that.

But I think that women that dress modestly actually are more attractive, but I not that old, and this is before my time, but I like the women from the 1950's and before, and am not too impressed with the women today, and the attitude of the people today will also get on your nerves compared to years ago.

Which technology caused it for people are not on the same level anymore, and have things to cling unto to to exalt themselves, and appear better than other people, and caused high selfishness, and high arrogance, and low trust came as a result, which Jesus said concerning the end time, since iniquity shall abound the love of many will wax cold.

I think it would be natural for people living for the Lord to know how to dress without consulting anyone.

The truth is people that actually want holiness, and to act Christlike, are kind of dying out and slowly becoming extinct, and the time will come they will not want to endure the truth of the Bible, but hear it according to their own lusts, when the new age movement becomes the unified religious system with all religions interpreted by them, including the Bible, based on the occult, and evolution, and people can still evolve to be greater, and spiritual, provided by the New Age Christ in the future, which is when God puts the world down and ends this sin business on earth for all nations governments came together and rebelled against God.

Which I do not want to get in to all that other than morals are slipping more for people that claim the Bible.

I am sure all nations have some kind of dress code although they might not enforce it, and allow them to wear what they want, but they still have a basic dress code of how men and women should dress that appears naturally to them.

Pro 11:22 As a jewel of gold in a swine's snout, so is a fair woman which is without discretion.

When we see people dressed we have a certain image of their character by the way they dress, so it should come naturally on how to dress to portray the image we want other people to view us, for we know how we are dressing and what it represents, but of course that would be slipping as well as morals like some people that claim Christ will enjoy the world like the world enjoys it, and think nothing is wrong.

Which if a person abides by the truth of the Bible, and actually upholds holiness standards, and being Christlike, and only go by their needs, and not their wants, and helps the poor and needy when possible, may find it difficult to get married in today's world that is slipping more in morals, and care about money, and material things, and the world.

1Co 11:4 Every man praying or prophesying, having his head covered, dishonoureth his head.
1Co 11:5 But every woman that prayeth or prophesieth with her head uncovered dishonoureth her head: for that is even all one as if she were shaven.
1Co 11:6 For if the woman be not covered, let her also be shorn: but if it be a shame for a woman to be shorn or shaven, let her be covered.
1Co 11:7 For a man indeed ought not to cover his head, forasmuch as he is the image and glory of God: but the woman is the glory of the man.
1Co 11:14 Doth not even nature itself teach you, that, if a man have long hair, it is a shame unto him?
1Co 11:15 But if a woman have long hair, it is a glory to her: for her hair is given her for a covering.

God even wants a distinction between a man and a woman according to their hair, which some people think the covering is a cloth, or material, when the Bible says that the covering is hair.

Jesus came in the image of God, so He would of had short hair, but they portray Him with long hair, and some people will say what about Samson, but he was not in the image of God, for nobody was in the image of God until Christ came, for the image of God is an innocent nature in flesh, which a person has to have the Spirit for that.

Some people do not like to hear the truth, because they have their own ways of how they like to appear in dressing, and their hair.

It is like Adam and Eve dressed themselves to hide the shame of sinning, and caused them to view being naked as shameful when they knew good and evil, but God fully clothed them for they fell short of how God wanted them to be dressed.

What?? What makes you say that. Arent we to be clothed in Christ.

Also its a christian thing to do is clothe someone who is naked. See Matthew 25:36-40
Even Jesus said to one of the churches in revelation that they were blind, naked and miserable and tells them to buy white clothes! See rev 3:17-18

I guess it's a good thing that clothing has an afterlife, though; or all ghosts would be naked...

I wear whatever I want...but I am not inclined to be the center of attention

in my experience, you could wear a sack down to the ground and some men would still whistle at you

and then there is age appropriate clothing...but that is a whole nother expression

Every woman (including those who are not Christians) understand the difference between dressing seductively and dressing modestly.

The trends in the West have been increasingly towards more are more exposure by women to the point of near nakedness. And after exposing themselves, the same women complain if men take that as an invitation for action by them. The MeToo Movement was pure hypocrisy.

Hollywood is primarily to blame, but also the fashion designers. However, if Christian women take their Bibles seriously they will not be affected by the ways of the world.

Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever. (1 John 2:15-17)

Jesus was a man. Am sure He appreciated beauty, but He loves us all any way we dress.

I do agree with follow though. Life is about impressions and most can't go past the first one.

In this way it should matter.

Matthew 5: 28 Jesus said, "But I say to you that everyone who looks at a woman with lustful intent has already committed adultery with her in heart".

Men who are saved obviously should keep in mind this verse. However, I would also content that woman who are saved should also be mindful of this verse and ask themselves, 'does what I wear cause men to look at me with lust?'.
